I've placed my first Stitch Fix order!

Been thinking of trying this for a while, as I've felt in need of some style inspiration.
My parcel is due for delivery on 3rd April, but I think I get to know what's in it before that: I've said that I'd like a Spring dress for upcoming pub lunches.
Excited now.

I agree. I love the concept and find it really exciting! I also find the delivery and returns process so quick and easy and when I did contact customer service, they were polite, prompt and helpful. However unfortunately it's based on being styled by a stylist but they fail at it!

Stitch fix looked like they would be a bit small for me at a size 18 so I went with lookiero. The items that came were great apart from one T-shirt but the 25% discount for keeping them all made it cheaper to keep the T-shirt than send it back.

I’m a funny shape with jeans and the ones they sent were a lovely fit, I’m quite happy. It’s a bit more than I’d normally pay per item though so not sure il carry on for too long. Might cancel if it starts getting rubbish

So after booking a Stitch Fix as an experiment to prove myself wrong, I was right. No matter how much I did the "is this your style" (every day), nothing in the box is my style. Honestly, my mum wouldn't wear it, she's 53.
I just feel like they send you any old stock lying round

I just returned all of my latest box as well. I’m 49 and size 18. They sent

Navy chinos, length all wrong and funny shape

Black jersey midi dress with round neck and button through - frumpy looking and shapeless

Navy wrap top with half length very tight sleeves. Pity as I would have liked this but the sleeves were all kinds of wrong

Linen jumpsuit, didnt suit my shape at all - too big on the shoulders, too tight round the middle

Red floral wrap mini dress with long sweaty synthetic chiffon sleeves. Really? For a 49 year old size 18

I had rejected all of the preview items but they still sent three…

this month's box wasn't as good. Nice pair of shoes but didn't fit. 2 tops that really didn't suit me. pair of shorts that were ok but I wasn't fussed on. Last item was a lovely dress though which I will keep.

This box also seems to be more expensive. Ted Baker and Levis items. I've set my budget to low but this one has crept up

They honestly seem to have a very limited selection of items. My preview keeps containing items I rejected from my last preview or sent back.
I had loads of issues with my last box (see above). It's the same this time!
Again my preview contained a dress I previously rejected, a dress not in my size, a zebra print dress (I always write in.capitals no animal print and even customer services said they would add a note to my account), I said no more louche but I had 2 Louche items in my preview, a denim jacket from Levi's (I hate denim jackets, I asked for no denim and have never asked for a jacket). I rejected everything again.

I feel like I've been really lucky with my stylist/boxes as they are always really lovely items that I want to try on and I don't Instantly discard. I've kept a gorgeous blazer (when I asked for one they sent me two to choose from) a pair of jeans that fit really well and two tops.

I also really enjoy reviewing the box and seeing what's inside. I've had four boxes so far.

@Lan2020 it seems very strange you're having such bad luck. When you say you've asked for no animal print, is that in the notes or have you gone through the whole style profile and clicked the patterns you do and don't want?

I'm getting another box on Friday. I selected 4 items from the preview so I'm quite impressed with how well they're judging my likes and dislikes. The only problem is if I like everything in the box it gets quite expensive cos I don't want to send anything back. But I've managed to refresh my wardrobe fairly well after lockdown and at least 7 items are StitchFix (from three boxes).

Complaints are that they do seem to have limited brands, don't always stick to your budget, and don't often have other sizes in stock. So I got a skirt that was a little small and I'd have liked to exchange for the bigger size but they didn't have it.

It's not so much the fit of clothes I have a problem with, I just feel the items they send aren't very 'on trend', or suited to my age or the styles I've said I liked on the style shuffle.
I also googled the 5 items they sent, and only one was actually available to purchase now via the brand. Everything else seemed to be old seasons?

@ashmts both! It's in my original style profile and everytime I order a new box I type in capitals 'no animal print' but still always end up with it. Also no t-shirt dresses but got 3 in my preview and one sent to me. I also get sent items that I sent back in my previous box!

I've just had my first box - I wish I'd known beforehand about the referral codes! Mine is www.stitchfix.co.uk/invite/j8cky9gqp3?sod=w&som=c if anyone wants to use it.

I hate shopping and am always drawn to the same things as I have already so I liked the idea of being sent some things picked by someone else! Everything fitted pretty well so that was a bonus too.

I'm sending back:
A polka dot polyester dress which is a frumpy mid-calf length - no thanks
A lovely floral jersey tea dress which i did really like but it makes my hips look huge
A pair of Mauvette black shorts which are a bit meh

And then I'm keeping:
A pair of Liverpool Los Angeles skinny jeans - I probably don't need any more skinny jeans but they are super comfortable and flattering
A fab sleeved jumpsuit which will be lovely for summer. I've only had a jumpsuit once before but I needed help to get it off to go to the loo and so I only wore it once! This is stretchy so very easy to take down...

I kept a pair of Liverpool Los Angeles cropped straight jeans they sent me as they are so fantastically comfortable and fit brilliantly - had never heard of the brand before.

So wincher you got a couple of fab items from your box. That’s not bad at all.

wincher what brand is the jumpsuit?

@Meripenopause

wincher what brand is the jumpsuit?

It's Editor's Cut - I think that's one of their brands?

Yes, pleased with my haul! Need to get round to going to the post office to send back the other bits though... I'm wearing the jeans today.

I loved my parcel today.

Sadly the two shirts and a dress did not fit me at all, im too big on top nothing really fits its getting me down.

However the two skirts are lovely one is a flora maxi skirt from a Danish company the other is a Whistles sports skirt. (Not worth £70 though) and the pair of cropped utility trousers will me very useful. So Im happy with my fix. I never kept anything last time.

If anyone would like to try Lookierio here’s a code Smile

@fourturnings do you find Lookierio generally takes longer to arrive than stitchfix? I've had a few stitchfix boxes and it takes around a week. I decided to try Lookierio and the next available date was a month's time!

Got my preview today and chose the five least ugly things lol, hoping they'll suprise me once on. But I think I'll be cancelling my box after this one.
I know where in a weird lockdown limbo but I rarely leave the house to justify new overpriced clothes.

Don’t know Lan2020 as I’ve set both up to deliver at intervals and then you get a date to work to - haven’t really found it a problem.

I got my fix today, I had picked 3 things from the preview, 2 dresses and an activewear top, then the stylist added 2 tops.
The best thing (although very expensive) that I bought was the top added by the stylist that I had initially written off as a 'No' as I thought it was a bit dull- but when I put it on it fit beautifully and was so flattering. From a company called InWear.
The other top she picked me I loved too but was just a little short for my taste.
The 3 I picked from the preview ended up not being great in terms of fit. So maybe I should just let the stylist choose as her choices were way better than mine from the preview.

InWear are a fab company, they’ve been around for years bailey what was the top like?

Report
Baileystruffle · 24/06/2021 19:49

FourTurnings It is called the viksa top, its black with a polkadot print, a short-sleeved v neck. I hadn't heard of them before but will look out for them from now on. The top is lovely quality and although is much more than I normally spend, its worth it to me.

My fixes have been hit and miss. For my latest one, I requested summer dresses, skirts and sandals. On the preview, I’ve rejected a denim jacket ( looked a bit Les Battersby) and a laptop bag, so heaven knows what the stylist will choose to replace them in the delivery.
