Following on from the general royal style thread, which is fast filling up, here's one just to discuss today's outfits.

My predictions

I’m really hoping Fergie will look fabulous - <a class="break-all" href="http://go.mumsnet.com/?xs=1&id=470X1554755&url=goo.gl/images/Ex3BbE" target="_blank">teal or <a class="break-all" href="http://go.mumsnet.com/?xs=1&id=470X1554755&url=goo.gl/images/oiAQaV" target="_blank">forest green look good on her.

After Kate's recent trip to the V&A, I’m hoping for something a bit more adventurous than a pale blue or yellow coat dress. Sophie in blue or pink Wickstead, Meghan in navy and/or boat-neck. She and Victoria Beckham may end up in similar outfits.

The Queen in fuchsia, neon green or yellow, Ladies Sarah and Helen in something elegant and understated, Karen Spencer in a dress that’s spectacular but so tight she can’t breathe.

And of course Princess Anne in a dress she's owned since 1986 that still fits her perfectly!

Long time lurker on the royal style thread, coming out of the shadows for today! Very excited to get the kids to school and then get comfy on the sofa for the morning.

I'm hoping for more that a coat dress from Kate too. If you can't reinvent yourself after having all your kids then when can you?

I'd love to see Meghan in something other than a dark colour too. She had some gorgeous outfits on Suits that looked amazing on her. I appreciate she was playing a character on there but she does suit some lighter colours too.

Yas! I am of course pretending to the world that I do not care but Royal Weddings are my weakness. Completely agree with Sherbert, these three perfectly normal looking women have been mocked for their looks all their lives and I want them to have a brilliant day.

I don't expect anything unusual from either Kate or Meghan though as it's Eugenie's day and I don't think they'll do anything that would be deemed attention seeking. I notice Kate brought out her more daring outfit on a solo engagement.

Kate deliberetly won't wear anything different. She has said in the past she does it as to not detract from the bride with pieces on what she's wearing etc.

@Jackietheduck ITV are showing it but it's part of This Morning. Its being fronted by Eamon and Ruth.

I really, really hope the Yorks get it right, I really do. And I hope people go to watch the carriage ride. I think it's perhaps a little ambitious to have one but it would be pretty deflating for the bride and groom if the route were to be half empty.

I loved Kate's Erdem dress, but I anticipate another bloody coat dress for this - taking attention from the bride etc. I just hope Megan finds something that fits - she's beautiful with an amazing figure but so many of her dresses seem to be not quite the right size in photos.

Although I am absolutely too cool to care about this. Obvs.

Very ambitious and tbh the bit I dont agree with. With the weather as it is aswell I can see the crowds being sparse.

Me too. I do feel a bit sorry for them if that's the case, although it was always a risk - Eugenie has never had the same profile as Harry and so the interest would always be lower. And I don't agree with the cost of it, either.

But I like to think of people being happy on their wedding days!

So excited for this but I will have a house full of toddlers so will have to catch up later. Can’t wait to see Eugenie’s dress and all the other royals and celebs too.

Morning!!! I am watching the guests arrive on Sky News. It's very windy and blowy and the hats are looking precarious. There are officials wearing red robes which are blowing up in the wind. Let's hope that York Tiara is being pinned in tightly as we type!
