Following on from the general royal style thread, which is fast filling up, here's one just to discuss today's outfits.

My predictions

I’m really hoping Fergie will look fabulous - <a class="break-all" href="http://go.mumsnet.com/?xs=1&id=470X1554755&url=goo.gl/images/Ex3BbE" target="_blank">teal or <a class="break-all" href="http://go.mumsnet.com/?xs=1&id=470X1554755&url=goo.gl/images/oiAQaV" target="_blank">forest green look good on her.

After Kate's recent trip to the V&A, I’m hoping for something a bit more adventurous than a pale blue or yellow coat dress. Sophie in blue or pink Wickstead, Meghan in navy and/or boat-neck. She and Victoria Beckham may end up in similar outfits.

The Queen in fuchsia, neon green or yellow, Ladies Sarah and Helen in something elegant and understated, Karen Spencer in a dress that’s spectacular but so tight she can’t breathe.

And of course Princess Anne in a dress she's owned since 1986 that still fits her perfectly!

@Dontfeellikeamillenial she was dressed perfectly! Loved the fact she had no heels as well (she's got the height to pull it off)

MissLingoss · 12/10/2018 13:43

I feel very sorry for Louise, it looked to me like she’d been left to deal with getting all those little children up the stairs on her own.

I think there was another woman there. She arrived in one of the cars bringing the bridesmaids. She was in grey, not dressed up, and was keeping back; I thought she might have been a nanny.

EmGee · 12/10/2018 13:43

I wonder if Beatrice wasn’t doing typical MOH duties so that she could accompany Fergie?

TheSpottedZebra · 12/10/2018 13:43

Beatrice was there shepherding her mother.
She got up once to fix the train.

She also seemed to be Andrea Bocelli's understudy, waiting in the wings.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 12/10/2018 13:44

Love Sophie Wessex, Edward looks like a proper weirdo, a very strange match!

I believe some consider that she's a beard ...

TheSpottedZebra · 12/10/2018 13:44

MissLingoss that was maria Borallos (sp?) The 1st nanny of William and kate.

pallisers · 12/10/2018 13:44

I just watched the coverage on the royal youtube (I'm in a different time zone) and it was showing that moment with Lady Louise. They should edit it out right now.

I thought the bride looked beautiful. Loved the dress the queen had on under the coat. Anyone have a picture of Sarah Chatto? I love her style.

MartaTam · 12/10/2018 13:45

People are just disgusting. Can't Edward sue whoever released the pictures she being a minor and all? i'd like to see them make an example of one of them.
I'm guessing this is probably why the poor girl couldn't come back out, too embarrassed to face the crowd Sad.

Still can't understand why Beatrice was in the church before the bride. I thought she'd be by her side sorting out the dress. Is this a new kind of MOH duties? is it because she is the OLDER sister, is that why she didn't or couldn't do the full maid thing?

TheSpottedZebra · 12/10/2018 13:45

... and there was also a blonde woman on child duties.

QueenOfTheAndals · 12/10/2018 13:45

Why would Fergie need shepherding? Although the way she ran off to hug someone in the crowd when she arrived had me wondering if she'd been on the gin in the morning!

As if a Lady wouldn't have knickers on!

TheSpottedZebra · 12/10/2018 13:46

Accompanying then, not shepherding.
No one else could walk with her and not cause gossip.

Whisky2014 · 12/10/2018 13:47

I started a thread last week asking if its normal for MOB to walk down aisle and i was told yes it was and usually with an escort such as son or usher. If she had gone on her own I do think shed have felt a but lost at times

QueenOfTheAndals · 12/10/2018 13:49

Ah yes, that's true @Whisky2014. I remember James Middleton walking with Carole (I think) but did Doria walk in by herself?

It's repulsive that homeless people are dying in the streets, disabled people are having their benefits taken away, the suicide rate is through the roof but there's still public money to police this nonsense.
It genuinely makes me sick. I don't care what they wear, I don't understand how you can see them and not be full of fury.

Whisky2014 · 12/10/2018 13:52

I'm not sure if Doris came in with Charles initially?

Whisky2014 · 12/10/2018 13:53

Cholka do you know little that money would go? It would not change anything.

QueenOfTheAndals · 12/10/2018 13:54

@cholka This is Style & Beauty so, funnily enough, we are just talking about the clothes.

2 million to police the carriage ride was ridiculous, I agree. But by all means start a thread about it in AIBU rather than S&B.

I have seen the picture of Louise on twitter and reported. Hopefully it will be deleted, I thought Louise looked lovely.

Livingtothefull · 12/10/2018 13:55

I agree with you entirely chalk. I don't wish Eugenie any harm at all and hope she has a really enjoyable day but the public expense of the security is impossible to justify. No money for vulnerable people, austerity still goes on but there is always a money tree for things like this.

Petalflowers · 12/10/2018 13:56

I guess Beatrice was with her mum, effectively as Fergies + 1. Fergie didn’t want to be by herself?

QueenOfTheAndals · 12/10/2018 13:56

Was Louise's dress the same as Beatrice's? It looked like the same colour and, if not identical, the style was very similar. I like that she always wears flats too. Plenty of time for heels when she gets older!

Livingtothefull · 12/10/2018 13:56

Sorry cholka. Autocorrect strikes again!

SillySallySingsSongs · 12/10/2018 13:57

Can't Edward sue whoever released the pictures she being a minor and all?

Not sure. It was broadcast live around the world. I have no idea how you'd stop it.

kenandbarbie · 12/10/2018 13:59

There's security paid for for loads of events, sporting, concerts etc.
