Beauty advent calendars....

For those interested there's already some info coming out on this years beauty advent calendars... plenty of time for us all to debate and neurose about it all:

www.reallyree.com/?s=Advent%202018

I've been putting £5 away a week since last Christmas for this so I can purchase guilt free and as I organise the whole of Christmas for everyone then I think I should get a treat to look forward to. Personally I think I like the look of Harrods this time.

What do you all think?

The Elemis one looks good this year. £150 though!

MathsFiend · 20/08/2018 21:19

I got the Liberty one the last 2 years, loved it the first year but a bit meh the second. Got the LookFantastic one last year, which was much better value and I'll get it again this year. Also got the m&s one each year, and will repurchase, though it's a pain you have to spend £35 to get it

I'm not a very Christmassy person, but I bought the M&S one last year and loved it - it introduced me to several products I hadn't tried before and I'm still using one of the mascaras and the silver sparkly nail varnish. So will probably get that one again. Unless my fortunes improve over the next couple of months (freelance) in which case it might be the Liberty one.

Brightermornings · 27/08/2018 09:45

I'm deffo getting the m and s one. I've got the vouchers ready to get it 😀

LostInShoebiz · 27/08/2018 09:52

The Charlotte Tilbury one only has about 12 boxes. I got one the first year (still have most of the contents kicking around). Last year’s was still on sale on the CT website about a month ago.

Other calendars are so much better value and more enjoyable.

I’ve always wanted a beauty advent but never bought one. I really wanted the BareMinerals one last year but didn’t, I think I’ll buy one this year!

Theonlyoneiknow · 27/08/2018 13:09

I have had the M&S one for the past 3 years and fancy a different one this (still using up products!). Need to do some research as I missed out on the Look Fantastic one last year, and Liberty (although deep down probably couldn't have justified the cost!)

Fstar · 31/08/2018 09:42

body shop on sale now

LilaGrace · 31/08/2018 11:29

I dropped a really big hint last year about the Jo Malone calendar, but my DH ignored it 🙄
So this year I'll be buying my own- either the Jo Malone one or the Diptyque one. I can't seem to find the release dates for them- does anyone know?

SnartyFartBlast · 31/08/2018 18:31

The decleor one was lovely last year!

Was it the Zoella one?

Piccolino2 · 31/08/2018 20:26

@whosafraidofabigduckfart I think it was the House of Fraser one. I'm guessing there won't be another one this year but we'll see. It was comedy gold!

I’m rereading it too GrinGrin

QueenOfIce · 02/09/2018 03:24

I wish there was a men's advent nice way to introduce them to skincare!

chloechloe · 02/09/2018 06:12

There are a couple of men’s ones QueenOfIce. I bought one for DH but can’t remember where it was from. Will have a think!

I had quite a few last year. Look Fantastic was really good for the price - I actually opened the whole lot early just to stock up my product hoard. I treated myself to Liberty which I’m tempted to get again and my mum got me M&S and Decleor.

I’ve still not used everything from last year though so should really behave myself! Then again baby no 3 is due in November so surely I deserve a treat!?

DustOffYourHighestHopes · 02/09/2018 07:43

I got the liberty one just as I was emerging from my post baby bubble, couple of years ago.
I hadn’t thought about my appearance for ages. I felt grumpy and frumpy.
I was organising Xmas for the entire family so as is usual, no gift surprises for me (maybe one from DH, but usually a book!).

Every morning, opening that beautiful box, rustling the tissue and finding something lovely (save a couple of duds) - it felt like Xmas should feel, like I was a child being delighted and spoilt again.

I haven’t bought one since as i’m still using products (don’t wear much make up) and I used the box for my children’s advent calendar each year. But I really really do recommend it for a bit of self love!

Nanasueathome · 02/09/2018 08:09

Clarins do a men’s advent calendar

QueenOfIce · 02/09/2018 09:22

Good to know Clarins do a men's one, I'll look into it for dh. Thank you!

StealingYourWiFi · 02/09/2018 09:28

I like the look of the Glossybox one!

Fstar · 02/09/2018 22:28
