Beauty advent calendars....

Piccolino2 · 17/08/2018 09:30

For those interested there's already some info coming out on this years beauty advent calendars... plenty of time for us all to debate and neurose about it all:

www.reallyree.com/?s=Advent%202018

I've been putting £5 away a week since last Christmas for this so I can purchase guilt free and as I organise the whole of Christmas for everyone then I think I should get a treat to look forward to. Personally I think I like the look of Harrods this time.

What do you all think?

I'd love the Charlotte tilbury one

CherryBlossom23 · 18/08/2018 12:22

I think I'm going to splash out on the Kiehl's one this year, it has lots of stuff I've been meaning to try.

LoniceraJaponica · 18/08/2018 12:24

As I don't have many people who buy me Christmas presents, having a beauty calendar fely like opening a Christmas present every day. I still have stuff from the M and S one I haven't started yet.

Seafoodeatit · 18/08/2018 13:13

M&S one and a milka chocolate one for me. I would be getting the diptyque one if money was no barrier.

TantricTwist · 18/08/2018 21:08

The winner for me is definitely Harrods and funds permitting I would treat myself to that one followed by the Liberty one then John Lewis however realistically I will probably go for the M&S one again just so I have a beauty calendar to open as my little treat.

NicoAndTheNiners · 18/08/2018 21:13

Well I liked the look of the Molton Brown one until I saw it was £175. If they knock £100 off I may be tempted!

I’ve never bought a beauty advent calendar, I’m tempted to dip a toe in the water and go for the m&s one

Would anyone have any suggestions for one for my 18 year old ds as a treat please? Not mega expensive, she’s got great skin and loves makeup, smellies, sparkles etc

Thanks x

Pomegranatepompom · 18/08/2018 21:53

I've had liberty past 2 years and will again.
Could we have no spoilers please?? or another thread with the items not listed until the day of opening Smile

kirkandpetal · 18/08/2018 22:07

Doubt House of Fraser will be doing one this year Shock

Fstar · 18/08/2018 22:22

Maybe house of fraser will start those giant mugs with every purchase like sports direct 😂😂

Annabelle4 · 19/08/2018 16:43

According to this, the Look Fantastic one is available on September 7th... or does that mean to pre order? 😮

I can't imagine having it and keeping it that long without being able to open it Sad

I'm zooming in on all the pictures Grin

JeSuisPrest · 19/08/2018 16:57

The Look Fantastic one looks as if it contains a lot of the products they have had in their monthly beauty boxes over the last 12 months (I've had at least half of them). I prefer the skin products to makeup - I have a hoard of gold/shimmery eye make up from LF that my 8 year old is going to love in her home made advent calendar this year Grin

HettieBettie · 19/08/2018 18:17

Thanks for this thread! I love my little advent calendar. I teach and it can be a trying month but with a little treat from these it always seems a little better! X

LoniceraJaponica · 19/08/2018 19:24

I think I will stick with the M and S one, although the no7 one appeals.

I might ask for one as a Christmas present from OH rather than something for Christmas day.

pouraglasshalffull · 20/08/2018 13:03

My friend got a M&S one last year and it was so good its made me want to get one! I prefer getting a number of brands as opposed to just one, so I would go for that or maybe even Space NK!

FacelikeaBagofHammers · 20/08/2018 13:28

I got the M&S one last year and really enjoyed it. I'd be tempted to try it again this year.

I would however love if there was a plastic-free advent calendar, as the number of tiny plastic bottles did grate on me if I'm honest.

Goandplay · 20/08/2018 13:39

Does Jo Malone do one? 🤞🏼

Twotabbycats · 20/08/2018 13:45

Yes @Goandplay there is usually a Jo Malone one... my very generous DH bought it for me last year. It was fab - lots of perfume in the 9ml sizes, a few candles and some body stuff.

midgesforever · 20/08/2018 14:11

My MIL gets me the m&s one, even bringing it over to the US with her. I am not a great user of beauty stuff but I really liked it and it introduced me to different stuff.

DeepfriedPizza · 20/08/2018 15:07

I might get the M+S one. I got a bargain Amazon one last year so fingers crossed they do one again

Offredismysister · 20/08/2018 15:26

I had the liberty last year & said I wouldn’t get it again, but I’m still using stuff out of it & im tempted again. I’ve also saved the box & am going to use it to do an advent for my grandkids to share.

I do like the look of the dipytique, but that’s well out of my budget. I also like rituals products, so may give that a whirl.

guiltynetter · 20/08/2018 15:41

i got an amazon beauty one last year (a surprise off my DH) and it was surprisingly good! i’d love the look fantastic one.

Icantbelieve · 20/08/2018 16:25

Thanks for the thread. I’ve bought the m and s one for the last two years and been quite happy for it.
Thinking about the body shop one this year (I think they do a few) as someone sells for body shop that I know. Anyone bought theirs before?
