For those interested there's already some info coming out on this years beauty advent calendars... plenty of time for us all to debate and neurose about it all:

www.reallyree.com/?s=Advent%202018

I've been putting £5 away a week since last Christmas for this so I can purchase guilt free and as I organise the whole of Christmas for everyone then I think I should get a treat to look forward to. Personally I think I like the look of Harrods this time.

What do you all think?

Muscat Debenhams day 1 is a winner. I have it full size but delighted to get mini for my spares in work

MiaN · 01/12/2018 15:10

MrsCar not Muscat.

mowglik · 01/12/2018 18:04

Oo thanks AllTalkno I forgot I was waiting for the John Lewis calendar to go on sale, have picked one up!

Isitmybathtimeyet · 01/12/2018 18:27

Anyone else opening Birchbox? I have that and M&S and was happy with both this morning.

MiaN · 01/12/2018 19:23

I went ott little bit this year. I have/had good few. Two to open this month Space NK and rituals. Rituals is my favourite out of two. Rituals was on sale and Space NK gave me Christmas crackers with extra goodies.

Already fully open M&S, Debenhams and Elle shearing the products with friend. Debenhams is my favourite for the day and she got day 1 from Elle and is very happy. Debenhams and Elle were 50% off, I felt it was worth it

intelligentPutty · 01/12/2018 22:17

@LadyLapsang yes I suppose it is good value but I'm not sure I need another one. I could persuade my self but I really don't need it!! :)
Dermalogica precleanse from liberty which I finally opened at about 6 this evening! Very pleased with that!

SickRose · 01/12/2018 22:53

Is there a Look Fantastic calendar thread? Had a quick look but couldn't see one.

SickRose · 01/12/2018 22:56

Never mind! Found it!

MrsCar · 02/12/2018 09:07

Hi MiaN Smile

I love this morning's hand cream too. L'occitane is one of my favourite brands Smile

Very happy so far!

Caggie09 · 02/12/2018 10:00

I got a Laura Mercier foundation primer in my John Lewis and a nails inc polish in ElleGrin

I like reading what everyone else has got, a nice mixed bagSmile

MiaN · 03/12/2018 06:38

kevin aucoin lip gloss from my Space NK advent. Love it!

SecondTimeCharm · 03/12/2018 08:33

did anyone else splash out on the Harrods one? i did (baby possibly arriving Christmas Day so I felt justified giving myself a big pat on the back this year!) and i’m loving it so far!

MrsCar · 03/12/2018 12:38

Day 3 of my Debenhams one is a benefit mascara.

I think this has been my favourite advent calendar ever.

Enjoy your Harrods one SecondTineCharm Smile

ScouseQueen · 03/12/2018 19:53

Ooh, is the Debenhams one good? It's showing as available again on sale, and I am tempted to ease the post-Christmas transition by getting a sale one to open in January. (No, of course I don't need one... Grin)

MrsCar · 03/12/2018 19:58

I think it is.

I got it for £35 on Black Friday.

LesAnya · 03/12/2018 19:59

I have the Selfridges one! Was part of my Christmas present Smile

Day 1 - mini Lancôme la vie est belle
Day 2 - Kiehls midnight recovery concentrate
Day 3 - TBA, haven’t opened it yet (am resisting until bed)

MrsCar · 08/12/2018 09:19

LesAnya, are you happy with the Selfridges one so far?

I love my Debenhams one, but I'm glad I got it at half price. Some of the products, e.g. The Lancôme cream this morning are absolutely minuscule.

I loved the NYX lipgloss yesterday. It stayed on all day and was a fab colour.

MrsCar · 10/12/2018 12:21

Hmmm, can't say I'm very impressed. The products continue to be tiny sample sizes.

I know I should have realised this when I bought it, but it's another thing actually seeing just how small they are.

I had the Look Fantastic one last year and many of the products were full sized, or decent sized anyway

MiaN · 10/12/2018 17:23

I agree with the debenhnams this year. It's ok on reduced price but doesn't offer great value or value on full price imo

MrsCar · 11/12/2018 10:21

And today (day 11) is yet another teeny tiny primer. That's the third one.
So glad I didn't pay full price for this Shock

MiaN · 11/12/2018 10:32

It gave me breakouts. Not fun

MrsCar · 11/12/2018 10:39

The primer? Oh no!

LesAnya · 13/12/2018 19:00

MrsCar I do like travel size toiletries so I’m happy enough with it.. there is an awful lot of Lancôme though!

🤔 I had it last year as well and I don’t think there’s much difference in the contents on the whole. Might reread the thread and get some ideas of what might be nice next year.
