Princessing 2018

YolandasFridge · 10/01/2018 13:02

Have just been working out how long it will take me to lose my excess weight. Horrifyingly my app reckons the start of May if I lose 1.5lb a week. ( 2 stone-ish Blush)

It got me thinking about the last Project Princess thread which was great..and of course there's Harry and Meghan's wedding in May that I/we could use as a target. Just for a bit of fun...anyone?

Would be great to get the previous experts on board if they are around ?

Hmm bolding fail sorry

LanguidLobster · 13/04/2018 17:35

Can I join in as a trampess rather than a princess for a bit? Just had a few stressful few days away.

I'd be quite happy to just have loads of herbal tea and wash my face and recover rather than anything more convoluted.

winterisstillcoming · 13/04/2018 17:57

Diamond, that list is awesome! Might print it and tick every day!

diamondsandrose · 13/04/2018 18:28

Be my guest!

I'm tempted to print it out but my kids will make fun of me, I've got it in Notes on my iPhone

winterisstillcoming · 13/04/2018 22:21

That's probably better, I might put in on excel and make myself a reward chart lol! I've done most of the original list today. Onwards!

CotswoldStrife · 13/04/2018 22:54

Can I jump in as a late starter?

I was on a similar thread before which really helped. At the moment I am trying to stop my menopausal weight gain before it really gets out of hand! Eating more veg and cutting down on the meat element of meals a bit. Need to start up my exercise to help.

I need to get my hair cut as well - have not bothered with it much over the last couple of years (bad haircut after my hairdresser stopped work!) and need to get it back into shape. It's very long now, too long for me.

Have been alternating tea and herbal tea to reduce caffeine intake a bit.

diamondsandrose · 13/04/2018 23:42

Welcome Cotswold

Did gel mani pedi today
Summer Glow all over
Ambre solaire spray on face
Lemon water all day
Very healthy eating
2lb off this week
Using new Avon retinol cream at night
Eating Brazil nuts

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 14/04/2018 22:54

I drink loads of water ( Menopausal flushes) always keep a bottle in my bag and now swapped my bottled water for a refillable one .

Did my brows with a 3 day tint

Planning to use the steam room/sauna at the gym next week (if the Menopausal flushes let me) so I need to buff and use the ole' Ladyshave before exposing my carcass.

Still working through my hoard of beauty products and I keep a Spends Diary .

I bought myself some Bodyshop Pink Grapefruit cologne last month, really nice and fresh, I'm not a perfume wearer so this is a step in the right direction.

CotswoldStrife · 15/04/2018 13:26

I am with you on the subject of power surges/tropical moments/hot flushes 70 Grin

I am doing well this week but that's because we don't have to be up and out by a particular time - let's see what happens when DD returns to school and I have to speed up the morning routine!

CotswoldStrife · 15/04/2018 18:51

I have bought Paul McKenna's 'I can make you thin' on Kindle from Amazon, it's 99p today. Reading the reviews there is some kind of code to download what's on the CD bit so it may help the weight loss!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/04/2018 21:59

I (perhaps unwisely Grin got put a magnifying mirror and looked at my skin close up Eeeeuurgh

Doesn't look too bad at normal mirror range but mega close up, I see the flaws (though I am nearly 52 and my face has been lived in)

I put a hair mask on (still on my hair , wash off tomorrow) and a face mask ( one of DD BodyShop ones ) then some gel.

My eyebrows are doing pretty well regrowing ( I use a Revitalash serum) DD has the eyelash serum, she has good eyelashes anyway but the serum has made them OMG !. We got the serums in January so they do take a while but give results.

diamondsandrose · 15/04/2018 22:18

Ooh I'm going to check out the paul Mc

I used to do the gastric band one

diamondsandrose · 15/04/2018 22:19

Gave DS10 a dettol bath earlier, remember them from the original thread? ,

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 20/04/2018 20:39

Gym and sauna today.
Halo

I will get some scrub out tomorrow and buff myself

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/04/2018 10:37

I've ordered some of those Korean Italian towels on another thread.
Plan to : use the gym then sauna then home for a warmish bath then scrub (in private Grin )

DanceDisaster · 23/04/2018 08:08

Oh am I too late to join please?

My plan is:

  • no alcohol in the week (I’m bfing anyway, so don’t drink that often)
  • More water
  • less tea (I drink loads of it and I take sugar). Stick to one sugary tea in the morning and a black coffee at some point later, but just caffeine free apart from that
  • reduce carbs; eat more soups and salads instead of the stodgy potato filled meals I’ve been snarfing
  • sub block on face
  • body brush regularly
  • find hand cream which actually works
  • file feet
  • paint toenails
  • defuzz
  • book eyebrow tint and shape appointment, admit defeat and accept that I can’t apply eyebrow pencil properly!
  • maybe some gradual fake tan
  • clear out wardrobe regularly and move things I don’t wear to storage or charity

I have a wedding to attend at the end of June. I’m still carrying some excess pounds from pregnancy and am just looking a bit tired and pasty from the winter, when I was pregnant and then dealing with a newborn plus 3yo. So I need this thread in my life really.

DanceDisaster · 23/04/2018 08:13

Oh yes and as much yoga / Davina dvd as I can fit in.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/04/2018 11:56

I used my Korean Italian towels on Thursday night (had a long hot bath with no bubbles , bit boring but I read a book )
Nothing came off my legs but my arms and bumcheeks peeled so nicely Grin I now have the softest bum (you'll just have to take my word for it, no photos)

So that'll be added to my Weekly List

I had saunas at the gym the last couple of weeks too, quite like that

I do 3 gym sessions a week, 80-90 minutes on the treadmill, then maybe 30 minutes cycling . ( I watch the screens at the same time, so I catch the soaps or various YouTube downloads)

diamondsandrose · 03/05/2018 17:07

Hi Dance!

70 you are so funny. I'm sure your bum is peachy soft!! What do you mean peel? I have the green ones the best I get is a kind of slight whitey beige sludge on the green mitt? Not much comes off anywhere else but my bum and back, so I'm never sure if it's because they've been more in the water soaking? Or that it's bath oil/foam debris?

My daughter has started doing Avon so I'm experimenting with their new retinol cream, I like it! She gets me discount 😜

diamondsandrose · 03/05/2018 17:09

The royal wedding is so close

Maybe we could extend to Summer Hol prep instead? I don't think I'm going to be princess perfect in time to compete with Meg!!

diamondsandrose · 03/05/2018 17:10

Who else thinks her ankles are too skinny? They look like they are going to snap any minute.

I'm just jealous, I have cankles Confused

trigger2 · 03/05/2018 17:37

Me too diamondsandrose, candles here too. I would love to have slender ankles but this has never been the case.

Princessing has fallen by the wayside here, a definite fail for me. However I have been doing more housework- does that count at all ?!

NeverEnoughSleep1 · 04/05/2018 00:49

Can I join? I need to lose 2stone 8lb

  • I've just started a new skin care regime *I've been using a good quality face mask twice a week
  • exfoliating twice a week
  • even applying fake tan which I haven't done since my teenage years
  • brought new make up and have been making an effort to apply everyday and make changes to my look
  • I've joined a gym and I'm determined to exercise at least 3 times a week
  • loosely trying to follow slimming world
