Princessing 2018

Have just been working out how long it will take me to lose my excess weight. Horrifyingly my app reckons the start of May if I lose 1.5lb a week. ( 2 stone-ish Blush)

It got me thinking about the last Project Princess thread which was great..and of course there's Harry and Meghan's wedding in May that I/we could use as a target. Just for a bit of fun...anyone?

Would be great to get the previous experts on board if they are around ?

Oh I'm also juicing and have cut out alcohol so I do feel a million times better than I did a fortnight ago, for that alone....

TheOtherGirl · 16/01/2018 18:01

My The Ordinary retinol 2% should arrive tmrw. How often should it be used?

I am taking my Flurodix twice a day + drinking 6 pints of water + trying to eat at least 5 pieces of fruit a day. I'm starting to feel a bit more energised already Smile

allinclusive · 16/01/2018 20:31

I've been at it for a week now, started by own version of obagi a few weeks ago and am just getting through the flaking stage. 3lb down with mfp in the past 2 weeks too.

I'm going to phase in some exercise starting next week, and top up my tooth whitening this weekend.

My aim is to book a mac make up lesson when I lose 1/2 stone - about 4 weeks time - and to find some time to do a home keratin kit.

Good luck everyone!!!

YolandasFridge · 16/01/2018 20:51

We are all doing so well! Lots of 3lb off last week and some major skincare regimes kicking off

Great idea re MAC lesson after half a stone. I was thinking along those lines too, eyelash extensions maybe but they are £70 and only last 3/4 weeks Shock

Hi everyone, today I was training at the Elemis Academy by one of their experts. So I took the time to ask her what her opinion is of microdermabrasion, peels and Retin A.

She says that in her opinion microdermabrasion is not suitable for people who have acne because it spreads the bacteria. She also said that if you use Retin A it can cause problems later on in your life like pigmentation and redness. She said that if you do use it it shouldn't be every day and should be used with good home care products like face masks and good moisturisers.

She also said if you don't tone you will get blackheads. I found her knowledge quite useful.

lottieandmia22 · 16/01/2018 22:02

Waxing your legs is better than shaving - your hair will grow back finer.

lottieandmia22 · 16/01/2018 22:03

You can get eyelash extensions for much less than £70 - I pay £45 for mine.

ChickenVindaloo2 · 16/01/2018 22:18

Evening Princesses!

I had LVL eyelashes (basically a perm) done in October and I'm still raving about it to folk! It lasted 8 weeks and honestly made me look like I had false lashes on. Didn't harm my actual lashes though, unlike that time I did have extensions!

What sort of expert was this, Lottie&Mia? I'm agree with her about microdermabrasion and acne. In fact my guru Dr Sam Bunting, cautions against using exfoliators/skin brushes even rough flannels on acne skin.

I take it when this expert said "tone" to avoid blackheads she meant with BHA? I love the Paula's Choice stuff. But Retin-A does, of course, have an anti-acne effect as well as an anti-ageing effect.

I reckon the best way to avoid redness and pigmentation especially when you're on Retin-A is not through moisturiser or face masks but through SPF.

lottieandmia22 · 16/01/2018 22:23

Well I personally do rate Elemis products. She's very high up in Elemis and does treatments on Kim Kardashian apparently. I am actually very keen on microdermabrasion and glycolic peels but I had the Elemis resurfacing facial today with two fave masks and I have to say the results are just as good.

lottieandmia22 · 16/01/2018 22:25

Good face masks do often have ingredients that will help the skin to repair itself.

Count me in - I'm serious that in time for holiday in June, I won't be having a mad panic like last year.
I have since 5th Jan been:
Drinking 2 litres water daily
Minimal sugar
Predominantly vegan diet - definitely no dairy as my acne is practically cured having cut it out in October.
Fake tan every 5 days
Paint nails every 5 days
RodialXtreme peel every 5 days - bloody brilliant at exfoliating but plumping at same time
Body lotion every day
Face massage every morning with Primark massager - fantastic for firming
Dermawand for eye bags every morning 2 mins
Make-up face in 10 mins max every day - I can spin it out to 30 mins if not careful so set a timer and use the rest of the time on body prep and face massage - I look and feel better as the make up was just covering up whereas the massage is doing my face good - got this eureka moment watching Trinny.
Radiofrequency facials every 6 weeks - beyond incredible for jowls and eye bags.
Exercise 3 times a week

I plan to:
Finally get rid of my verrucas not sure how as I've tried so many things but have had one huge one on my little toe for 14 years - it really gets me down on holjday. Anyone got any suggestions - laser or cryopen?
Dry body brush every morning - just waiting for my delivery to get started - ditto cellulite gel.
Massage neck and decolletage and apply serum there also.
Just be generally cossetting to myself and take me time wherever I can get it from!
Get balayage redone as it's very grown out - thinking about some caramel highlights to frame my face.

Can I just ask how everyone is finding the time to do all of the princessing? Are you multi tasking - masks whilst making dinner etc? Just struggling to fit it all in and make time for DH too once kids are in bed.

user187656748 · 17/01/2018 00:07

thats a very high price for eyelash extensions OP. Mine cost £40 and then £20 for infills (after about 3 weeks) which will last for another 3 weeks.

I have a hard deadline now having just booked a holiday in mid July!

user187656748 · 17/01/2018 00:08

After that you can just keep getting the £20 infills

user187656748 · 17/01/2018 00:09

Im ignoring DH JM Grin

allinclusive · 17/01/2018 11:36

I'm waking up 5 mins earlier for processing in the morning and keeping things to hand, so another factor 50 in the car, vitamins by the kettle, etc. I've figured less time eating = more time princessing!

Yes, op book yourself the make up lesson, my big ambition is to book in for a personal shopping session with my big 40 birthday money if I get to my goal weight. (18 lb off).

Keep chipping away at it everyone, we are going to looking fabulous come spring xxx

YolandasFridge · 17/01/2018 15:11

I was the £70 lash extension person treat person
I need to look for cheaper places, the place I looked in is obviously too fancy pants ££

I don't need a MAC make up lesson as I am the person you get them from or rather used to be Wink
To be fair I wouldn't mind one just to see what's new but at my advanced years I'm probably more a Bobbi customer Blush( ultimate put down from MAC folk but I always secretly preferred their style)

Love that less eating equals more Princessing! I do stuff in front of the tv!

YolandasFridge · 17/01/2018 15:13

all inclusive I'm guffawing at your ( I'm guessing) typo that you get up early to do processing!!

It is indeed a process

I feel like I'm restoring an old handbag

lottieandmia22 · 17/01/2018 15:20

Charlotte Tilbury is nice - especially the colour chameleon eye pencils. They do different ones for each eye colour.

allinclusive · 17/01/2018 17:47

Lol, it is a process indeed! I have actually had to write my morning face routine down as I find it hard to follow. And there's nothing wrong with a bit of Bobbi brown, and the charlotte tilbury highlighter is amaaaaazing too.

Just dumped some olaplex in my hair. This is flipping hard work.

wherethewildthingis · 17/01/2018 22:14

Tonight, coconut oil on hair for an hour, washed out and put a pink toner through my blonde, shaved legs, body scrub all over and a ton of body lotion. Face scrubbed with my Clinique scrub and a load of Clinique serum on !

YolandasFridge · 17/01/2018 22:56

Nice work!

Tell me about :

Pink toner

DIY Olaplex

I keep meaning to post a proper list and updates but work keeps taking over! So this is a v quick flying post to share some positives:

  1. Hair mask - I’ve been using the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer pre-shampoo treatment once a week and OMG! the first time I used it there was a huge difference in my hair, even though I just rough dried afterwards. Very shiny and glossy. I’m a big fan already!
  1. Microdermabrasion facial
Had this done on Wednesday and my skin looked so clean & bright afterwards, but today it’s looking even better! I’ve been pretty lax with toning and exfoliating my skin over the past few months and this treatment has given me a lovely boost. Will definitely be trying to make this a regular thing!
allinclusive · 19/01/2018 18:07

Those both sound great wren, sorely tempted with the elasticizer but I'll stick to the olaplex.

OP- I use the at home olaplex 3 to delay splitting my bleached hair.

I'm still flaking away, hope everyone else is keeping at it.

user187656748 · 19/01/2018 19:53

Can you do all three olaplaex stages at home or is it essential that the first two are done in a salon?

Aridane · 19/01/2018 21:07

1st 2 stages done in salon along with colour
