Have just been working out how long it will take me to lose my excess weight. Horrifyingly my app reckons the start of May if I lose 1.5lb a week. ( 2 stone-ish Blush)

It got me thinking about the last Project Princess thread which was great..and of course there's Harry and Meghan's wedding in May that I/we could use as a target. Just for a bit of fun...anyone?

Would be great to get the previous experts on board if they are around ?

Oooo yes, me too please. About 1 more stone to go. Also yesterday want to feel more stylish and put together. Rather than frumpy mum.

DaisyRenton18 · 10/01/2018 18:22

Ooh, I'm in please!

I've started the year by gradually introducing new habits in the hope they'll stick... Last week I began the resolution of drinking at least 1 litre of water every day (in addition to my normal tea/coffee intake!). That was easier than I expected and I'm already not really having to think about it, so this week I've also added moisturising after every shower. I started on Sunday and forgotten twice so far. It may be a while before that becomes habit Blush. The next one will be something that continues helping me clear out some more of my toiletry shop bathroom clutter, so probably wearing lipstick every day, or nail polish.

It'll be a while before I reach the dizzy heights of attempting everything on the princessing list, but I'll get there! (Hopefully before the royal wedding Grin).

Hats off to those diving straight in and doing all of the list from Day 1!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 10/01/2018 18:49

Yes, New Princessing Thread Grin

I am suffering lurgey and feel as rough as a Bear's Arse so I'll need to postpone for a couple of days.

Previous 'good habits' I have adopted:

1: not to go over 5 weeks for a haircut. I cannot grow it and there's no point in kidding myself. If its short and sassy I look a bit more polished. If it gets longer and scruffy I am not

2: dye. I have a box on the wardrobe, I aim to not be without. I use a Superdrug semi-permanent ( usually under £4 a box or on special offer) it takes an hour or so to do the whole thing - mix, apply, wait, rinse, tidy. No excuses.

3: I have a LadyShave which is pretty quick to whisk off hairs so no excuse now . In Summer , I'll do back to wax but for Winter, I'm ok with the LS.

4: I have the worst eyebrows. Seriously only microblading would do it , but I'm not going there (yet). I've ordered a Revitalash kit (QVC) I'll have the brow serum, DD can have the eyelash (She has enviable lashes but of course she wants 'better' )

5: Using up my Beauty Hoard (that's another thread Grin ) . Though before Christmas I bought a bar of the soap on one of the soap threads , its very nice .

6: Using up face creams but I needed a day cream, bought some Superdug Optimum 40+ (I'm 51) . Its not oily or thick, very impressed (and on BOGOF at the moment)

7: Charcoal toothpaste and tooth powder (Superdrug) Messy but works well

8:Still carrying on the Spending Diary . Everything I buy (clothes, toilettries) I make a note of .

9: 2 bags of recycling clothes to the Charity Shop , I will do a monthly cull of my clothes.

10: Water , more water Grin I don't smoke or drink alcohol but I do like my coffee. Life's too short to be caffeine free !

ChickenVindaloo2 · 10/01/2018 19:14

Hey everyone!

I lost 3 stone last year. I have another 1-2 to lose but looking a lot better already. I'd love to join. I'm a fan of Kate rather than Meghan but I'd like to be at or near my goal weight by the Wedding Day.

Here's the plan -

  1. 8 glasses of filtered water a day - hmmmmm....! I like Pepsi Max!
  2. Exfoliate (everything...within reason) - I have a pot of body scrub on the bath which I like using. Will try to do 1-2 x per week
  3. Use teeth whitener - I do this already
  4. Use anti-aging face cream - I do this already
  5. Intensive nail care (feet and hands) - definitely an area to improve.
  6. Use eyelash growth serum OR eye cream - these irritate my skin
  7. The Shred / other intensive exercise - I've just joined the Ramblers and I go to the gym.
  8. At least 2 extra fruit & veg every day. Tick - started smoothie making again.
  9. Healthy breakfast daily - not a problem for me.
10. Use hair oil (moroccan hair oil for eg, or kerastase etc) - I have intensive conditioner - need to make an effort to leave this in for a while once a week. 11. No alcohol during the week & no boozing it up on weekends - I don't drink. 12. Take vitamins every day - I take calcium and vitD daily. 13. Body brushing - I have a body brush, I just need to use it. 14. At least 2 servings of salmon or other fatty fish per week. I do this anyway. 15. One early night once a week. Suggest 9PM. I get enough sleep but could still do with going to bed early instead of playing on internet. 16. Regular hair removal - a never ending battle. 17. Give up one naughty favourite item e.g. chocolate/crisps - I've already given up crisps. 18. No more fizzy drinks - NO WAY! 19. DAILY body moisturising - Once or twice a week is best I will manage. 20. Warm water with lemon first thing in the a.m. might go back to doing this.
ChickenVindaloo2 · 10/01/2018 19:16

So in summary:

Body brush, body scrub, body moisturise
Do nails
Hair - deep condition
Drink warm water and lemon
Go to bed earlier.

ChickenVindaloo2 · 10/01/2018 19:21

My own suggestions :

Start wearing some of my perfumes
Eyebrow tinting
Wash & blowdry hair (evenings)
Keep up effort to put on jewellery and make-up

TheOtherGirl · 10/01/2018 19:22

I can highly recommend the Parisienne thread on here for introducing a little style to your outfits.

MaudlinMews · 10/01/2018 19:24

Theothergirl Ive had CACI and I do a six weekly ‘maintenance’ too and it helps a lot. I’d like to do more but its so expensive. Im going to try derma pen too.

Anyone know how to rescue a scraggy neck?

TheOtherGirl · 10/01/2018 19:29

Thank you maudlin. I'm very tempted. A friend has just finished a course of 6 and she definitely looks fresher.

donners312 · 10/01/2018 19:44

Maudlin mews - i have just started derma pen - love it so far had two and my skin looks so much better.

I'm in now to find the motivation for the exercise, also had the large but that might be a bit of an excuse now.

MaudlinMews · 10/01/2018 20:26

Ah, that’s good to know. Ive heard good and bad reviews but I think its all to do with how far gone your skin is. I might invest and see if it beats the CACI.

Does anyone do collagen supplements or know about them. Im skeptical.

YolandasFridge · 10/01/2018 21:21

Princessing aka Markle Sparkle

Ok here's where I am so far ...

  1. Achieve target weight (through: low carb/sugar, lots of lean protein, healthy fats, veg and fruit).
  2. Anti ageing skincare regime day and night including serum, retinol, oils etc (from existing beauty hoard)
  3. As much water a day as I can drink ( add lemon/lime/cucumber)
  4. Home manicures and gel nails ( sensationail- need help with this )
  5. Home pedicures incl footner, gel toes
  6. Makeup off every night , apply night cream , use retinol and eye cream
  7. 4 gym classes (or can substitute a 1hr walk) per week
  8. Wear lipstick/gloss ,earrings and perfume every day. ( this is a tip from my beloved ultra cool and glamorous Nan, the 3 essentials she called them)
  9. Teeth whitening strips , floss
10. Intensive hair treatments 11. No alcohol during the week & try and avoid at weekends as much as poss 12. Take vitamins every day 13. Sunday night pamper night 14. Kondo clothes and beauty hoard 15.Lights out by 10.30pm or earlier if poss unless going out 16. Regular hair removal and exfoliation/body brushing 17. Gradual tanner every second day 18. 19. 20.

ChickenVindaloo2 · 10/01/2018 22:18

Its a lot of bloody work isnt it! Being a woman.
Im thinking about making lvl eyelash treatments a semi regular thing. Makes me look like ive got make up on when I havent. Plus gives the wide awake look. Just takes an hour and eyes feel itchy!

halfwitpicker · 10/01/2018 22:22

I'll join if you don't mind.

Started a new job and I'm gradually feeling OK with dressing more 'me' everyone is so dowdy! So been wearing skirts etc - nothing dramatic but just skirts, heels, shirts etc.

Need to lose half a stone : low carb and no alcohol should do it. I'll feel great once it's gone. Hard to do in winter though.

Will apply fake tan, make an effort with my hair and clothes and eat properly : nuts, fish etc the good stuff for your skin.

Need to start spinning really but CBA at night - gonna do lunchtime yoga instead.

onlyonaTuesday · 10/01/2018 23:35

I’m in but will start with the healthy eating and more water after my birthday this weekend 🙈

whenohwhen · 10/01/2018 23:42

I feel like my markle sparkle is currently lacking in the facial region. So I'm going to have a go at the facial massages and exercises too.
The frozen ice cube ones on YouTube have been recommended so that is my starting point.
My figure is currently a bit of a lost cause so I'm going to keep on with the exercising and hope for the best come wedding season but have learnt via google tonight that flowy scarves are my friend for the foreseeable future and will concentrate on my face.

YolandasFridge · 11/01/2018 19:55

Good day today

Ate well, drank loads of water, tough 1hr class at gym

Grooming wise I gradual tanned my whole face and body last night and the difference makes you feel so much more confident.

Earrings lipstick perfume of course
About to do Sensationail kit gel on toes. There was a thread on that I think, was the outcome that you really needed the base coat which strangely isn't included?

Also looking for retinol suggestions and what to use them alongside or is it better to use them solo?

OP posts:
MissSpock · 11/01/2018 20:50

Oooo I want to join, I'm hitting the big 40 in May and I'm too fat and just feel generally yuk

July here and yes to everything you said.

Joining! Need to feel like a Princess by July 24!

YolandasFridge · 11/01/2018 22:14

Welcome new Sparklers

Looking for inspiration for the last 3 positions on my list..

Anything we haven't touched on yet?
Need to think what Team Meghan will be planning grooming wise

OP posts:
readyforno2 · 11/01/2018 23:14

I have more to lose than you op but I'd love to join. Need a kick up
The arse right now!

YolandasFridge · 12/01/2018 10:28

Hi ready , welcome

Kick up the arse given to myself this week

Bought a digital scale from amazon , that syncs to an app you download to your phone
You get on, sock free and your phone pings with TERRIFYING information about yourself

The goal is to make categories "green" rather than red yellow

OP posts:
whenohwhen · 12/01/2018 10:42

yolandas be careful with retinol. I used a serum that didn't suit my skin at all and made me look dehydrated. I can't help but get stuff around my eye area and it made the skin there look really creepy.
I think retinol can have this effect for a while with some people and they persevere and then see the benefits. I stuck with it until it had run out but

whenohwhen · 12/01/2018 10:43

Sorry:

But I didn't see any improvement at all, just an increase in fine lines and very thirsty looking skin.

UterusUterusGhali · 12/01/2018 10:49

Hi all!

What eyelash serum would you reccomend. I use tubing mascara, and while I love it, I'm sure it's dried/pulled out my lashes.
