Have just been working out how long it will take me to lose my excess weight. Horrifyingly my app reckons the start of May if I lose 1.5lb a week. ( 2 stone-ish Blush)

It got me thinking about the last Project Princess thread which was great..and of course there's Harry and Meghan's wedding in May that I/we could use as a target. Just for a bit of fun...anyone?

Would be great to get the previous experts on board if they are around ?

Any dermatologist worth their salt, indeed any doctor who know their stuff, will tell you that Retin-A is the only product which is scientifically proven to reduce wrinkles. They even said as much in that daft programme The Truth about Beauty. And fuck me could that presenter do with a) botox and b) a slap. Retin-A works - It's a FACT. All the stuff about it being "too harsh"...just go easy until your skin gets used to it to avoid the flaky look and use SPF daily. Let's separate those that use RetinA and those that don't and let's meet back here in 25 years, ok!

Anyway...I have moved my perfume collection into my bedroom (from inside a cupboard in the hall) and placed the bottle I am currently using on top of my knicker drawer so I remember to use it just after getting dressed.

I can definitely recommend the braun facial epilator btw that I taoked about on another thread...it's been 2 weeks now since I used it and I have been able to skip a threading appointment so it's already pretty much paid for itself.

I find it odd that the PP telling people to stop using retinol is also encouraging sunbed use!

Because new sun beds are not like the ones that got really hot. And you should only use them for 3 minutes. The alternative is Xen fake tan as doesn't smell as bad as the others imo.

Whereas buying Retin A and and sticking it on your skin for unspecified time will cause you problems.

I do have facial peels with hyaluronic acid but it's done by a dermatologist I don't just buy it off the internet. And you should vary the type depending on what your skin is doing.

You should have a treatment which encourages skin cell turnover as well as reducing wrinkles.

Well I'm carrying on with my tazarotene and I haven't had any ill effects so far. As I say though I don't use it every day. when i first started using it i had a bit of flaky skin round my mouth but that was it and my skin soon got used to it. If its the thing that reduces/prevents wrinkles then that's good enough for me. Combined with my six monthly botox and my liquid gold it seems to be doing the trick.

RetinA - reduces wrinkles, does not give you skin cancer
Sunbeds - gives you wrinkles and skin cancer. The temperature is not what does the damage, it's the uva rays.

Retin-A encourages skin turnover!

Generally, if a treatment can be performed by a beauty therapist rather than a medical practitioner, it is going to do nothing for your skin good or bad. Same with over the counter products. If you can buy them in a shop rather than on prescription, then it will do nothing for your skin. There, just saved you all £££.

@user187656748 you're like me and prefer the real drugs to the homeopathic shit! You seem to know your stuff: Botox, retin-a and AHA. Just stick in some 10% vitamin C serum and some BHA maybe and you've got the full package!

A poster further down the thread said that she used Retin incorrectly and it dried out her skin. I obviously would not recommend using sun beds all year round or regularly because they will cause damage. But in the uk we don't get much sun therefore vitamin D and personally I find they help my eczema. So moderation is key. UVA rays do the most damage to the skin network and unfortunately they are present all year round.

Beauty therapists who can do peels will also be dermatologists.

It is true that there is actually no such thing as a safe tan. I have a lot of melanin in my skin but I appreciate not everyone does. I put high factor on my face though.

Microdermabrasion is less invasive than any chemical peel and it gives you an instant glow. I am 37 and I have no wrinkles - none. People think I'm 23. I expect that will all change when I go through the menopause though.

Hi yes I use tretinoin prescribed for me. I actually started on it when I had acne altho I needed to take the dreaded roaccutane to get rid of it entirely. I use 0.1per cent twice a week. I have had dermaroller treatments by a dermatimogist too.

I use la rochay or avene skincare. Im addicted to dr sam buntings youtube videos.

I also rate paulas choice bha and pixi glow tonic aha. I alternate these. Pc is antiageing and pgt is for a few blackheads. Daily spf, dont smoke, silk pillowcase and I dont drink. Low sugar diet, lots of nuts and fish.

Ditch the liz earle. Its a "pleasure product". Ie smells nice but not actually good for skin. Switch to avene extremely gentle cleanser or la roche posay toleraine extreme. Both of these get the thumbs up from dr sam.

Re sunbeds. True re vitamin d deficiency being common but better to take calcium and vit d suplement. Ideally with a fat eg olive oil or yoghurt as its fat soluble.

Sunbed might seem like it helps your excema initially. I felt the same when I tried to use it to zap my acne. But it apparently dries the skin in such a way that the skin cant shed properly and hence youre just clogging pores and meaning creams cant get in to do their work

Yes I didn't mean to suggest that everyone should regularly use sunbeds. It's the same as sunbathing although the one I've been using has an infra red correcting thing. But you only have to look Brits living in Spain to see the damage the sun does. It's more that in the months when everyone suffers from SAD I find it can really help me. But I'm olive skinned. If I was a pale redhead I wouldn't go near one.

Yesterday I covered my first few greys with a semi permanent colour - I'm amazed by how soft and silky my hair feels, hope it lasts! I also christened my new Sensationail starter pack.
Today, it's eyebrow shaping and gradual tan.
I've been exercising daily and intermittent fasting for a couple of weeks now, plus exfoliating, shaving legs, armpits and bikini line daily plus all-over moisturiser
Next is to investigate good teeth whitening at home and footner.
I'm also going back to Botox for my '11' lines between my brow (used to do it quarterly but it was too expensive).
I'm feeling better already!
