Princessing 2018

YolandasFridge · 10/01/2018 13:02

Have just been working out how long it will take me to lose my excess weight. Horrifyingly my app reckons the start of May if I lose 1.5lb a week. ( 2 stone-ish Blush)

It got me thinking about the last Project Princess thread which was great..and of course there's Harry and Meghan's wedding in May that I/we could use as a target. Just for a bit of fun...anyone?

Would be great to get the previous experts on board if they are around ?

Ive got white celtic skin (dark hair tho, in its natural state) so sunbeds are the devil to folk like me. Have u tried a lightbox for your SAD? And a dawn simulator alarm clock? Plus the vitamin d supplements.

WrenDouglas · 14/01/2018 10:57

Ooh, can I join in? I would love a bit of Markle Sparkle!
I'm on a weight loss mission but I know its going to be a long slog and I'm sick of telling myself that I'll sort out everything else when I'm slim. I want to feel good now and I think that would do more to keep me motivated with weight loss.

lottieandmia22 · 14/01/2018 13:48

What is a light box? I definitely won't be sunbedding long term. So yes I do need to figure out some alternatives for those things.

Has anyone tried that body glow stuff by Rose H-W (M&S) I think it looks nice when it goes on but leaves a horrible after smell. A bio gel pedi will last about 5 weeks.

lottieandmia22 · 14/01/2018 13:49

Also I'm gyming three times a week and drinking copious Evian. I find lifting weights makes you look a lot better than cardio. Although you can do both of course.

YolandasFridge · 14/01/2018 14:28

Thanks Chicken will finish off the Liz then try one of your cleansers
Been meaning to try PC and PGT for ages but again, trying to use up hoard
Should I use up my Ordinary retinol then get retin-a from an online chemist?

Wren agree totally trying to self care now while losing weight rather than when I'm "good enough" to bother

I would like to be in on this!
Going on holiday early June, my goals are-
Lose one stone - ideally one and a half
Use facial peel mask once a week
Body brush twice a week
Sort out feet - foot file at least once a week !!

ChickenVindaloo2 · 14/01/2018 20:26

Lottie, try here:
www.lumie.com/

Yolanda, I don't want to put in writing that you should buy Retin-A online! ;-)

lottieandmia22 · 14/01/2018 20:27

The Soap & Glory foot files are brilliant !!

lottieandmia22 · 14/01/2018 20:30

Thank you Chicken.

allinclusive · 14/01/2018 20:30

I'm the same as you Andy! Forty in may and need to shift the pounds. I reckon I could do most of the princessing list xx good luck everyone. I'm just off to slap some retinal on......!

YolandasFridge · 14/01/2018 20:31

Chicken I have had it before via eBay but didn't bother using it much and it will be out of date now Wink

Today:

used up the rest of a body scrub on arms/legs and round my collarbone area

hair mask

face mask , one of those weirdy sheet masks that made me look like I was a Hallowe'en reject with my face falling off (oh the glamour)

Eyebrow serum applied and I'll do a photo on my iPhone to keep track

I'll do a spritz of James Read tan

might push the boat out tonight and waft on some Vit E spray moisture and cream+socks for my feet

I need to weigh myself and start a plan, I have a holiday in August (planning ahead here)

user187656748 · 14/01/2018 21:02

I've had coconut oil on my hair all day and have just washed it out. Feels lovely and soft.
Applied my liquid gold
Have just done fingers and toe nails.

TheOtherGirl · 15/01/2018 14:07

Have ordered The Ordinary, Retinol 2% in squalane. Anyone know how often I should use it, please? Very excited anyway. I fully expect to look 19 again by the end of the month deluded

Also just bought a large bottle of Flurodix as a goid, pick me up tonic for these grey January days. I have been gorging on citrus fruits trying to shake off the last dregs of my Xmas 'flu debacle, but need an extra boost methinks.

user187656748 · 15/01/2018 17:36

I'm self tanning this evening. I have loads of work to do but unless I do something every night I won't make this work.

andysghost · 15/01/2018 20:41

Can anyone recommend a fake tan for pale people? I would like a healthy glow!!!

Other things I'm going to commit too are

Sunday night pampering including body scrub, face mask and hair treatment.

Under eye wrinkle treatment 3 times a week - just bought an intensive under eye one from murad

Seriously cut down on wine 🍷 and improve diet - get back into my fitness pal

Gym 4 times a week

YolandasFridge · 15/01/2018 21:49

Aww my mum swears by Floradix !

Warned me "it's VERY expensive but it's worth it" (it's about £10)

Used my new sanctuary body scrub this morning and put loads of body lotion on after! Ate well yesterday and did 15000 steps so feeling pretty good about that.

YolandasFridge · 16/01/2018 13:11

Sticking to my list pretty religiously

3lb down last week

Doing some form of "grooming" every day and drowning myself in lemon infused water

Multi tasking and using this as an opportunity to slather myself in all my half used products , in order to reduce my beauty hoard so I can buy more

YolandasFridge · 16/01/2018 13:13

Markle Sparkle alternative to sold out jumper from Mango on Lorraine today

They did it 3 ways, casual formal etc, was nice

Not as nice as Ant from SAS though but I digress

JackieReacher · 16/01/2018 13:22

for goodness' sake don't put the retinol on the lines near your eyes! Yes it works, but it will have the effect over time of thinning the skin and skin around the eyes is already thin enough
A good factor 30 for (almost) every day (I am better on this in theory than in practice) and stop using the retinol a few weeks before going anywhere sunny on holiday (and I won't use it in summer here). Start every other night. Feed & moisturise your skin in between (resveratrol B/ E from The Ordinary or Skinceuticals / Hyaluronic acid from the Ord daily)

Troika · 16/01/2018 14:08

So far
Sticking to the skin care regime
Doing ok on the drinking water front, although I had to get up for two wees in the night last night so may have to try to drink it earlier in the day
Doing a pathetically low number of squats and a pathetically short plank every night. I think I may have to try to up the exercise game if I actually want to see results...

YolandasFridge · 16/01/2018 17:00

There are specific retinol eye creams which are completely fine
Agree I wouldn't use full strength Spanish chemist stuff around them though

Ooh I think I need to join - I princessed a couple of years ago but I've probably picked up some bad habits:

Need to lose a stone - lost three pounds in the last week so I'm on track for that
Start running again - been out twice in the last week
Getting my skincare routine back up and running - I have AHA BHA retinols, SPF 59 etc but need to start using more regularly
Should really do my nails and shave my legs more often
More frequent haircuts
Money is an issue so I'm not buying any clothes, but I need to cull what doesn't suit me/I never wear
Use the "nice" lotions instead of keeping for best and never using them!

About to do bath time but will catch up on rest of thread later!
