According to dh, my style is 6th form drama teacher. What’s yours?

So I do have a penchant for some ‘ethnic’ style jewellery and a billowy frock. And a bit of beading/embroidery/sequins/faux fur. I think I pull it off Grin but no matter what I wear this is what I look like. You could put me in a trouser suit and I’d still look like a art/drama teacher. What’s that all about? What’s your inescapable style?

Oh that’s an interesting question!

I think I look Parisian.

In my dreams!! More like scruffy woman trying to look au currant

Berlin depressive - im skinny and wear black, grey, minimalist silver jewellery and massive ugly boots

DunedinGirl · 10/01/2018 11:21

I suspect my style is 'Modern Mrs Bennet'

Kenworthington · 10/01/2018 12:51

Ooh glitter- I ASPIrE to be a Berlin depressive. Grin I do have a liking. For big ugly boots and lots of black. So am partway there. Sadly am not skinny though

Mines 6 year old girl, think pastel colour hoodies, trainers and a pink puffy coat, I’m in a rut

Stitchintimesaves9 · 10/01/2018 13:13

A few years ago a colleague described me as having a Tory wife look - I was going through a Hobbs phase at the time, so I guess that was why Grin

Currently I'm rocking a peri-menopausal Mum living in the country look (too much Seasalt and Joules), but aspire to be more elegant living in a city kind of chic. It's never gonna happen.

Scribblegirl · 10/01/2018 13:14

My best friend once described me as a primary school teacher who moonlights as a 1940s hooker.

It's a good job I love her because she's on the fucking money

Scribblegirl · 10/01/2018 13:15

not me, my style. I don't actually* do that Grin

LostMyLunchMoney · 10/01/2018 13:19

Student from the late twentieth century now depserately trying to be a 21st century grown up and not quite pulling it off
Following all the knowledgeable poster on S&B should be helping but I just keep slipping back to my student default and it's looking less and less acceptable as I advance into middle age. Sad

This made me laugh out loud, unfortunately as it describes me perfectly!

Scandi chic wannabe - minimalist, block colours and oversized ugly knitwear

CrepuscularCritter · 10/01/2018 13:43

Somewhere between suburban rock chick and very mature student.

hipsrose · 10/01/2018 13:48

I got told I look like an art teacher due to the (rather large, I admit) new gemstone ring I recently purchased and am obsessed with Grin

I think I've found my twin! Grin

MakChoon · 10/01/2018 13:51

Great question! My style of dress is pretty similar to yours, OP but some friends recently described me as "if you were in one of those old portraits hanging on a castle wall, you'd be royal hotty"

Which made no sense to me but apparently means I have an old fashioned, regal and elegant air - which is basically the opposite to how I feel, Aspergers, dyspraxia and all 😀

MakChoon · 10/01/2018 13:52
  • royal hot totty, ffs! Grin
QuiteLikeable · 10/01/2018 14:04

Honestly, I've no idea, which has depressed me.

UsernameInvalid66 · 10/01/2018 14:06

All over the place but always vaguely "different."
