So I do have a penchant for some ‘ethnic’ style jewellery and a billowy frock. And a bit of beading/embroidery/sequins/faux fur. I think I pull it off Grin but no matter what I wear this is what I look like. You could put me in a trouser suit and I’d still look like a art/drama teacher. What’s that all about? What’s your inescapable style?

I thought I'd make a bit of an effort with some make up today. 3 yo DD asked "what's that all round your eyes?". She didn't look happy when she said it so I guess my look is "scares small children"!

Ginorwine I used to wear a lot of tea dresses, until I got all fat. Now I'm a root of stripes and corduroy :) Also I have rosy cheeks, am often wearing an apron, and frequently produce soup and scones from my kitchen. I think it's more that GrinGrin

Planning a return to the tea dresses by summer, since I've been pedalling off the extra stones in the gym (while listening to Woman's Hour podcasts Blush)

A riot, not a root!!!!

I just asked my OH what he would describe my style as. He looked nervous and then carefully said 'librarian with a country twist, except when you go to work then you just look like a sensible sahm.' Then he scarpered to the shed....

DoAsYouWouldBeMumBy · 14/01/2018 20:18

Snuggly when I wear red lipstick, babies and toddlers burst into tears Confused

DoAsYouWouldBeMumBy · 14/01/2018 20:19

Lulu your style sounds fab Shock

LuluJakey1 · 14/01/2018 21:21

Doas Ooh thanks! Most days I am a bit of a slop - house, walk to nursery, afternoon walk, shopping in village, so just slop. I do try if I am going somewhere.

AccidentallyRunToWindsor · 17/01/2018 07:46

I asked DH yesterday, his response was 'brave'

TheDailyMailIsADisgustingRag · 17/01/2018 08:24

At the moment, I’m definitely rocking the pregnant farmer look. My uniform seems to be dungarees over jumpers, moon boots and puffy coat.

After dc arrives (next week) I’ll be super stylish in giant black harem pants and anything I can bf in on top! Possibly still in dungarees too. So, not much change!

ginorwine · 17/01/2018 12:06

I look like an old child
5 foot 2 in skinnies or vintage
Slim / slight aged in 50 s with bun .
Abs fascinated by wizard or West Bank chic

  • not a clue what it transalates to in every day clothes ? ! Wd love to see some outfits !
ginorwine · 17/01/2018 12:07

Doas - sounds great !

DioneTheDiabolist · 17/01/2018 12:09

My uncle once described my look as "ironing basket with a head". He nailed it. Blush

TossDaily · 17/01/2018 15:42

I just asked DP and he said 'Rebel Bohemian'.

I'll take that.

Polarbearflavour · 17/01/2018 20:35

Infant school teacher - I live in White Stuff / Seasalt dresses or skirts and scarves and boots!

weekfour · 17/01/2018 20:38

How do I classify constant harem pants and trainers? Or wearing maternity clothes when not pregnant?

One thing is for sure- it’s probably not any kind of chic.

MaisyPops · 17/01/2018 20:39

At work I've been told I look like an English teacher. I'm guessing the scarves, jewellery and slightly quirky take on professional attire is what does it as since it was pointed out I have started noticing a trend.

Out of work it's a mix of activewear/leggings and hoddies or maxi skirts&tunics/dresses with leggings.

I don't really like wearing trousers that much and live in leggings as much as possible.

MaisyPops · 17/01/2018 20:41

Oh it was describing style as in a label.
Umm... 'activewear meets feminine meets overgrown emo/grunge kid'.

Dh says that I dress like Kate Middleton, fitted knee length tea dresses. My best friend says elegant. Dm told dd that I dress like her dm, so my grandmother, she has a point, I do wear pearl sets and am always co-ordinated with matching handbag, coat and shoes.

I do love the 1940's look!
