I am really stumped mrsmc any clues? Is it an ozonic scent? It feels quite ephemeral (or am i barking up the wrong tree?)

BluebellGal · 31/10/2017 22:02

Commes de Garcons? Bertrand D?

MrsPestilence · 31/10/2017 22:02

Back on the case, something citrusy that is probably not a citrus fruit, salt and frankincense/incense, hay. This is so unscreechy Grin A green oriental?

Blue one of my best friends was widowed a couple of years ago. I spent a lot of time feeding her, either here or delivering a casserole.

BluebellGal · 31/10/2017 22:04

Thanks Pest good advice x

For sample B I’m thinking L’Artisan?

MrsPestilence · 31/10/2017 22:06

Need new thread, witches brew and root canals?

MrsMacNally · 31/10/2017 22:18

You're both doing really well. Yes, to L'Artisan and yes to frankincense. You're in the right sort of ballpark with the nose Blue. (Pest - an aspect of it is like nails on a chalkboard to me, although I really love the rest of it. Isn't interesting how differently we experience the same thing...).

Fragrantica classes it as an oriental woody.

Great thread title - go for it Pest!

MrsPestilence · 31/10/2017 22:29

Passage d'Enfer by L Artisan Parfumeur
Lily, musk, cedar and frankincense? Don't believe it

MrsMacNally · 31/10/2017 22:31

Halloween Grin Well done Pest.

BluebellGal · 31/10/2017 22:40

Woohoo we’re on a roll - Well done Pest (with some massive hints there from mrsmc) I thought it was unusual and niche but found the notes very tricky to place . Funny thing is, I dislike the smell of lily flowers, but I actually quite liked this.

MrsMacNally · 31/10/2017 22:40

It's an Olivia Giacobetti - think you tuned into her vibe Blue.

On PG - I have sample of Coze Verde 2.1 - a nice woody fig.

MrsPestilence · 31/10/2017 22:41

I really don't get lilies, I do get a salty ozonic note. Might just be my skin.

BluebellGal · 31/10/2017 22:47

Just realised MrsMc B was the perfect scent for Halloween as the English translation is “Passage to Hell” (which does not resonate with me having worn it all day)

MrsPestilence · 31/10/2017 22:47

New Thread

We needed hints today Blue Grin

MrsMacNally · 31/10/2017 22:51

Pest - thought it would be interesting to compare with your Copal Azur. (Thank you for the sample - what a gorgeous hi-energy incense. I think I have a slight issue with the top end of the frankincense register, although it's one of my all time favourite notes).

MrsPestilence · 31/10/2017 22:56

Had the same thought this morning, but had to rush off. Then decided I smelt like hay after about an hour. Would not expect this smell from those notes.

PerfumeIsAMessage · 01/11/2017 19:07

You are all very good!

Bluebell- when my stepfather died, my Mum's house was so full of flowers she said it was like a funeral home and she didn't like it. It seemed that everyone who arrived brought flowers. A couple brought plants, which I think she appreciated more. Flowers for you however, for being a good friend.

Today is a holiday so had to go to MILs and today there were no batty SILs to lessen the pain, so have spent hours listening to MIL badmouthing them because they weren't there. Am in PP Opium for a change Grin

Reading the various reviews on Opium I didn't realise it had been so heavily reworked. (some reviews say the new version should even have been given a new name as it is so different) I am guessing the PP version is more similar to the original as it definitely reminds me of people I knew back in the 80s who wore it.

I cleaned behind my dressing table this morning and found 2 long lost samples on the floor. Amazing Green (which iirc we all decided was the most misnamed scent ever, as it isn't green and it certainly isn't amazing,) and a Keiko Mecheri that I'd forgotten I ever had.
