Blimey Blush. Have asked MNHQ to delete duplicates. That'll help us on the way to thread no.8 though.

MrsMacNally · 29/10/2017 20:33

What does it smell like on your DH Pest?

MrsPestilence · 29/10/2017 20:51

On DH - No fecking violets!
No noticeable jasmine,
Soft roses, soft musk, a hint of citrus and something else which because I know the notes can call almost coconut.
He could wear it with a hangover.

On me - electric parma violets, rose soap with a hint of jasmine and possibly dirty root veg or an earthy amber (but very gentle in the background).
Not suitable for a hangover unless purging was the intention.

Poor bugger is going to get sprayed more often, never noticed such a difference before. I've scrubbed, he smells nice.

MrsMacNally · 29/10/2017 21:01

So I think I must come out towards your DHs end of things. There is a soapy parma violet along with the rose and musk but it's gentle and definitely not electric. I am missing out on the root veg and amber too Grin.

What's it like on you Bluebell?

MrsMacNally · 29/10/2017 21:12

I like their gorse - it's sweet and earthy but it does, at a certain point, have that sort of urinous quality that fig can sometimes have.

MrsMacNally · 29/10/2017 21:14

But then fig and coconut notes have a fair bit in common too?

MrsPestilence · 29/10/2017 21:22

Goodness knows what my skin will do to gorse then. The risk is I smell like a urinal. Confused

I smell good in jasmine.

Blue sounds similar to you and DH

MrsPestilence · 29/10/2017 21:25

I like fig (especially fresh rather than dried), not so keen on coconut, never smells quite like coconut on me.

MrsPestilence · 29/10/2017 21:26

Mmm, I'm the odd one.

Branleuse · 29/10/2017 21:32

did someone talk about rose perfumes as ive recently bought a bottle of Ombre Rose and im a bit obsessed with it. It smells all powdery and rosey floral and just beautiful.
www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Jean-Charles-Brosseau/Ombre-Rose-L-Original-3973.html

I managed to get some for a tenner on ebay, but I can see this being a staple

MrsMacNally · 29/10/2017 21:49

Oh, I like the idea of a 'crimson powder bomb' Branleuse.

BluebellGal · 29/10/2017 22:08

Ombré Rose sounds wonderful Branleuse thanks for the tip off

MrsMc Caldey Island number 1 opens very power and masculine on me but quickly settles into a very soapy violet rose which is quite bitter, so no amber or any sweetness. Then the musk kicks in. It smells clean and fresh.

I’m having trouble with Mumsnet today. The viewer had gone into widescreen and it makes it very difficult to review what I’ve written and read the thread.please excuse my typos and lack of references to previous posts as it’s really tricky to scroll.

BluebellGal · 29/10/2017 22:09

*powerfull

MrsMacNally · 30/10/2017 07:06

SotD is Blue B.

MrsPestilence · 30/10/2017 08:07

MrsM give me an hour or so and I will also be in Blue B

MrsPestilence · 30/10/2017 09:10

Pepper, soft purple flowers and a hint of citrus.

MrsMacNally · 30/10/2017 09:13

Stuck on train with someone wearing a nuclear PM so struggling!

Almond/heliotrope plus white or yellow flowers? When I sniffed before I got orange blossom (or was that Blue C?).Smile

Sorry - recurring probs posting from this phone. May have to go quiet on you 'til this evening.

Pest I'm now wondering if I may have squirted Blue C? (wasn't wearing my reading glasses...)Grin

MrsPestilence · 30/10/2017 09:27

Not trusting my nose or skin after yesterday.
On a bit of paper, this is quite sharp still.
On my skin, this is a bunch of flowers and twigs wrapped in buttery suede. Almost a liquorice twist, just catches on the back of my throat, but not in a bad way.

MrsPestilence · 30/10/2017 09:47

That my have been the herbal toothpaste influencing that.
Lilac has faded, has this stuff got about twenty notes?
I like it, it has that melancholy feel.
Enormous difference between paper and skin. Will spray DH later.

MrsMacNally · 30/10/2017 10:15

Suspect there is nothing wrong at all with your nose or skin Pest - you may just have more refined taste/olfactory powers. Smile

To channel W1A's Tracey Pritchard for a moment, given yesterday, I'm getting a bad feeling about Mrs Mc C - might just send you both something else...

explodingkittens · 30/10/2017 11:14

SOTD is Carillon pour un Ange. I'm not surprised that some people have a real issue with this - the top notes are so, so carroty on me today! However, it's now settled into the intense lily of the valley heart notes, but still quite green and fresh. I find this a really interesting scent but it's not an easy wear, imo. Have been for a lovely head-clearing walk in the chilly sunshine and it's suited that, though.

PerfumeIsAMessage · 30/10/2017 12:02

I am in Dans tes Bras.
Very violetty. Need to put Apres l'Ondee on other arm and see if there is a difference. I think Apres may be less pungently violetty.
Both would be lovely for a young woman's summer wedding. Which is to say perfectly inoffensive and not my thing!
