Dry down completely different, reminds me of Ma Dame.

BluebellGal · 30/10/2017 14:39

Bluebell B does have pepper and flowers, although not ones I really know but they are pinky purple yes. The main note (which is in the title) is a flower and doesn’t have any fragrance! There’s also a key note which is not a flower that you haven’t got yet. The nose is pretty well known but not the brand and they are both British.

Kittens hope you’re feeling much better today. SOTD sounds interesting if a little challenging!

MrsMacNally · 30/10/2017 14:56

Perhaps dahlia or hibiscus?

BluebellGal · 30/10/2017 15:22

No - a different flower which I honestly think has no scent at all!

MrsMacNally · 30/10/2017 16:02

Poppy?

CountFosco · 30/10/2017 16:05

SotD the Sexiest Scent. Wouldn't describe it as sexy but I am getting the lemon meringue. Warm comfort, similar to Sunshine and pancakes.

brogueish · 30/10/2017 16:08

Good afternoon. SoTD is Myrrhiad by Huitieme Art - lovely resinous aniseed/vanilla cold weather smell.

I was hoping that your vast collective knowledge would be able to help me out: does anyone know if it's possible to buy Montale perfumes in store anywhere in the UK? I can't find any stockists here at all.

BluebellGal · 30/10/2017 17:33

CountFosco that isn’t how I imagined sexiest scent IMHO! I thought it would be dark and woody and smouldering - not lemony! I definitely need to put at 4160 taster set on my crimbo list

Pest and mrsmc it’s orchid - which as far as I know has no smell so it’s an impossible one to guess really. Sorry I bombed with this one! I’ve enjoyed it today too - i think it’s a nice clean floral musk and sort of reminds me of the original 212 which was a favourite for years. I agree the opening gets me in the throat too, it’s pretty potent. I’ve found this with the nose’s other perfumes (and I know a few on the thread have another of her perfumes)

brougueish I’ve not heard of that brand but you could try calling Les Senteurs

BluebellGal · 30/10/2017 17:35

My Liberty Advent Calendar just arrived. I’m going to have to leave it with a family member for safekeeping until December 1st as I don’t trust myself Blush I believe it contains a very expensive and niche perfume brand (I think it’s a travel size bottle)

MrsPestilence · 30/10/2017 17:48

brogueish you can get it from Selfridges. Might have to do click and collect.

Back from work again, trying to catch up and find the perfume. Orchids you say?

MrsPestilence · 30/10/2017 17:54

Going to have another spray and see if I can find some cardamom.

brogueish · 30/10/2017 17:55

MrsPestilence - thank you very much, that's brilliant! Flowers

brogueish · 30/10/2017 17:56

Just googled and I have no idea why it didn't come up when I was looking...! Thanks again, hugely appreciated.

BluebellGal · 30/10/2017 18:07

Pest you are too good! I think you know what it is!

MrsPestilence · 30/10/2017 18:14

Peonys, that makes sense. And the cardamoms are black not green. Another one for the wish list.

Sorry, not been concentrating on perfume much today.

MrsPestilence · 30/10/2017 18:21

Most orchids either don't smell or smell of rotting flesh. Apparently there is one which smells quite like roses. Nerdy DH is researching.

CountFosco · 30/10/2017 18:22

that isn’t how I imagined sexiest scent IMHO! I thought it would be dark and woody and smouldering - not lemony!

There is wood but warm and cosy. Maybe it's a good reliable husband who does the washing sexy rather than a ONS sexy.

BluebellGal · 30/10/2017 18:24

Me too Pest not focused much on perfume as it was an important day professionally as I got a project signed off - my plan got the go ahead without modifications so I’m very pleased. However this does mean it will be taking over my life for next two years!

BluebellGal · 30/10/2017 18:26

Hehe CountFosco

I love that your DH assists with your sleuthing activities Pest - my DH’s eyes glaze over when I mention perfume

PerfumeIsAMessage · 30/10/2017 18:47

Drydown of Dans Tes Bras did indeed get more interesting, but I wouldn't have said spicy and woody like all the reviews I read said. I sometimes wonder if the sample people get things mixed up!

Am now basking in a fuggy fuzz of LADDM however. No confusion with this one.

Judydreamsofhorses · 30/10/2017 18:52

SOTD is Mitsouko. I am still loving the scent detective-ing!

MrsPestilence · 30/10/2017 19:14

What did Dans Tes Bras drydown smell like PiaM? You are getting through a lot of perfume today Grin.

Blue DH is a flower nut, I don't mention perfume just flowers. Also he loves to be useful (he does things like hang up laundry). Well done with the work project.

Count I need to smell sexiest scent again. Can't remember for the life of me what it smells of.

brogueish if you know what one you want, check Allbeauty and Notino, they are generally cheaper.

Carrot not listed as a note Kittens Shock

CheapTarnishedGlitter · 30/10/2017 19:33

Another busy day on the thread!!

Started off with Dark Heart layered over Rome 1963 to try and bring out the darker bit of it - was really very good until I had a clear out of my car (Blush) and had a run in with a sample dabber of Insolence and ended up masking them with violets!

Got rid of the lot in favour of Mitsouko. Phew.

One more days and one more month 'til calendar time- getting exciting!!

BluebellGal · 30/10/2017 19:40

Cheap is insolence recommended if you like Violets? What’s the silage and longevity like? I need to get my hands on 4160 samples and LADDM as I’m getting perfume envy from daily 4160 references! I also can’t wait until I can legitimately open my AC (it’s going to my parents for safekeeping in the meantime because I don’t trust myself)

Pest your DH sounds utterly lovely

explodingkittens · 30/10/2017 20:06

I know, Pest, but it definitely smells like scrubbed, chopped, raw carrots on me! Grin Got a bit fed up with it by mid-afternoon; I think if I want lily of the valley I'll stick with Diorissimo. Scrubbed and went for what is becoming a bit of a fave - Dark Heart of Old Havana (snap Cheap!) Love that coffee/rum/sugar/smoke mix...

Very envious of the Liberty calendar Bluebell - very wise to order though - did you see the pics of the queues? Shock
