Woohoo thread 6!! I've been on from the start and I have to say my stash is looking more respectable, I've just got loads of trial sizes/beauty box stuff to get through

I was good on Saturday, almost bought a m&s beauty box but resisted - so unlike me Grin

I've been doing my own 12 for Ramadan thing, just finished the last one, may have listed the earlier ones before:
Amie purifying face wash
Skinfood black sugar perfect first serum
Laura mercier hydrating primer
Caudalie micellar water - hated this was rubbish
No 7 perfect and protect intense serum
Skinfood yuja water vita eye serum
Evian brumatiser facial spray
Pixi glow - meh
Sulwhasoo time treasure eye cream
OST Vit C serum - love, have repurchased
Lipfusion XL lipgloss - love, have about 4 others
Elemis marine collagen cream - love

Love the 13 for Halloween kwick, I'm going to be ambitious and try for another 12 in between (mostly trial sizes). 12 to shelve? Ok I'm rubbish quirky names too Grin

littlepooch · 21/06/2017 15:55

I have 2 empties! One is number 4 on my 5 for summer - soap and glory body scrub. This was really good and a good price - I would repurchase. Would like to try something different though as I am a bit bored of the smell.

The second is a shaving foam - one of the bog standard gillette venue ones. Boring but I have another 2 in my stash (bought when on offer) and i guess it's just a bathroom staple for me.

I am nowhere near to finishing number 5 on my list - the Liz Earle face mask but will continue to keep using it once this heatwave is over - I can't face a mask in this heat!

Now to start thinking what to target next!

littlepooch · 21/06/2017 15:56

Wow mowglik that is an impressive list! Good work!

mowglik · 21/06/2017 16:11

thanks pooch i have been working on it for a good old while though, and a few of them are trial/sample sizes

I hear you on not being able to use anything in this heat, the only thing I've been slathering on is an aqueous cream with menthol that was prescribed when i had itchy skin in pregnancy - It really works, would recommend for hot days!

kwick · 21/06/2017 18:42

@mowglik I LOVE "12 to shelve" - I am on it!!!

Amazeballs progress!!

I only finished 3 of my 5 for summer solstice but am pretty happy with that as I only joined thread mid May and have definitely used my products more in the last month than previously.

The 2 I didn't finish are
Clarins eau des jardins - I have enjoyed using this lots in the last few weeks and still lots left (so its win win!)
L'Oréal nude magique bb cream. Liked wearing this in the heat (very light feel on the skin) and has somewhat rekindled my love for the product

I'll have a think about what products for my next list, I have a couple of spfs, aftersun etc that I'd like to use up this summer

d270r0 · 21/06/2017 20:12

I have also only managed to use up 3 of my 5. So will just have to add the last 2 on to my next list!
'12 to shelve' sounds fab- so whats the deadline? Should we make it halfway between now and halloween to give enough time for '13 for Halloween'? In which case maybe the end of August?

Treeballarae · 21/06/2017 21:31

Like the "twelve to shelve" and the "13 for Halloween" ideas!
I only managed another two out of my revised 5forsummer list:
Oskia Perfect Cleanser - too thick, had to scrape it out of tube into pot to use it up - too much fuss
Elemis Pro Collagen Oxygenating Night Cream - I love this, especially in winter, but I feel like there are other creams out there to try.
I also finished a mini Liz Earle conditioner - the old version with Yangu oil in it, I've had it that long.

Beauty Bay cancelled my Zoeva pallete order and I've not made it to a Body Shop yet to look at mojito range, so my urges are under control at the moment!

Treeballarae · 21/06/2017 21:38

mint you asked for moisturiser recs, I have Eucerin Ultra Senstive Soothing Care Normal Combination, it's thicker than Toleraine fluide but I would say it dries less sticky than toleraine does, so it might suit you?
Ingredients are:
Aqua, Squalane, Glycerin, Pentylene Glycol, Methylpropanediol, Tapioca Starch, Arginine HCL, Cetearyl Alcohol, 4-t-Butylcyclohexanol (Trans-Isomer), Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Sodium Carbomer, Caprylyl Glycol.

mintmagnummm · 22/06/2017 06:34

Thanks tree they don't stock that one in my boots

DragonNoodleCake · 22/06/2017 06:39

I'm in Germany and need to do a tally of all the minis I've used over the last month with my Switzerland, Birmingham, France, Germany jet-setting!
Something to do in the airport later!

kwick · 22/06/2017 07:26

dragon they do say that the Nivea from Germany is more potent...

Strawberryfield12 · 22/06/2017 13:47

Yay to 12 to shelve and 13 for Halloween! How about setting back to school date for the 12 ones? The deadline wouldn't be too far to get distracted :) And with all the holidays lined up for next few months, the numbers should be reasonable.

I have used the Estee Lauder cellular spray, was good for the hot days. I have now committed to get to the bottom of the Damask rose face mist DH brought from Dubai 5 years ago. At a time I was only using day, night, eye cream and makeup removal, so couldn't get my head around what to do with the face mist...

IPokeBadgers · 22/06/2017 15:50

Finished a tube of Laura geller spackle primer....it has been on the go for a long time and because I went a bit daft when I discovered LG & bought a couple of qvc tsv kits....i have another two tubes in the stash! I quite like it though, feels nice and not as siliconey as other primers.

Treeballarae · 22/06/2017 16:19

Mint I couldn't find it in my Boots either, but I got mine from Feel Unique.

Hammy12345 · 22/06/2017 17:27

Hi, I'm New to this thread and have drawers and drawers full of cosmetics, shampoos, lotions and potions. Apart from foundation I can't think of the last time I finished a product Blush.
I am definitely going to have a hunt through and see what I could commit to finishing. However, someone told me about the ordinary range. It seems really well pricedGrin so if I didn't finish it all before going on to the next product it wouldn't be the end of the world, would it?! Is it any good, or should I really finish what I have first?!

kwick · 22/06/2017 18:09

@Hammy12345 welcome! You are in good company!!
I will not enable and say that I am eyeing up The Ordinary too Grin

ABeaverAteMyThumb · 22/06/2017 21:15

i've finished the aurelia cleanser that came with the liberty advent calendar. underwhelming.

ememem84 · 22/06/2017 21:45

Finished a batiste dry shampoo.

Am no where near close to finishing any of my 5 for summer so will just keep plugging away at these.

I have enough prosucts to last me at least until the end of the year. Am trying super hard not to spend unless absolutely necessary. Although cosmetics (and shoes and handbags) are about the only things I can spend on now. Can't buy clothes as nothing fits (26 weeks preg).

Must use up. Must use up.

mintmagnummm · 23/06/2017 06:36

Thanks tree I've just got a new one to try butbif I don't get on with it I'll try that eucerin one. Thanks again.

kwick · 23/06/2017 07:16

THE DILEMMA:
Making in roads into Chanel pallete I have had for over 10 years Blush and only have two more colours to finish.
However I love the mirror on the pallete- it is so handy. Do I keep the pallete for the mirror even when Inam done with it?

Kwick fantastic progress!!! I'd probably keep the mirror or try to find a similar new palette.

Great goals and progress everyone! I've thought about a new goal. I use much less makeup during summer. I am also working on a couple of full size products that seem to go on forever. For this reason, my new goal is #5bySchoolStart.

  • Chanel Legende lipstick
  • Max Factor Facefinity compact
  • mixed blusher (a mixture of Lily Lolo, Max Factor and Astra)
  • two travel-sized products or sheet masks

Hats off to anyone who is tackling 12 or 13 products!

FrustratedFrugal · 23/06/2017 08:46

Hammy welcome! It is easiest to get started with samples, trial sizes or full-size products that are more than half gone anyway.

My goal is to decrease clutter and I've managed to make a big dent in my stash over the past couple of years. I've also bought lots of lovely new things but that's okay because I've finished so many older products.

FrustratedFrugal · 23/06/2017 09:00

And here is a selfie with some of products that I am currently working on. Max Factor Facefinity worn as a base and Chanel Legende on my lips. Eye makeup: two long-term projects, Nars Narsissist Dual Intensity palette worn as eye shadow and liner (a daily staple since December 2016 I think) and brows defined with Revlon eye shadow (I have used it daily for about a year and it's about 50% gone). Various shades from Nars Narsissist Unfiltered II cheek palette worn as bronzer, blusher and highlighter.
