Kwick I hate that cyclo ingredient too it breaks me out! (I know why u avoid it tho)

d270r0 · 14/06/2017 12:30

I have an empty- a body shop vanilla body butter. Loved the smell but won't repurchase as I have tons more body butters and body lotions in the stash. Will replace with a half used Palmers body lotion. Also used up a handwash but this is boring as I always use the same one and don't stockpile them.
None on my 5 for summer though- we have exactly 1 week left now and I have 3 left to finish. Should definitely get through 2 of them but won't managr the third.

kwick · 14/06/2017 15:47

Have had a hankering for some beauty pampering so as have got home early have made an appointment in a local salon for a facial and eyebrow and eyelash attention Grin just as well as I have a mahoosive spot under my eyebrow Confused

I have an empty from my #5 by summer:

  • Body Shop strawberry lip butter which is well over its best before date! I actually now have NO stash except a few that I am keeping as gifts (to my mum - they are her fav and have been discontinue).

Thanks for new thread kwick. So much good stuff going on. Well done everyone.
frugal you are my #lipstickgoals. My use up: buy ratio is very much out of whack! However this thread is definitely helping and I'm a more thoughtful consumer. And house tidier!

Sent another bag of little used make up to a teenage friend who was quite excited to get benefit posietint as I really don't need anymore pinkness with my rosacea cheeks. Although my skin is so much better after reading a thread on here about simplifying routine and spf daily. Have lots of acid masks to pass onto friends though after realising I am better without.
dragon are you visiting French pharmacies? I love a French product!

mintmagnummm · 15/06/2017 13:28

I emptied another dove Shea and vanilla shower gel Grin

kwick · 15/06/2017 18:07

Dragon are you in Paris???? Pharmacy on Rue de Four ne St Germaine has great prices

Ok may need to buy at least one lip balm - one at work is coming to an end. Any recommendations?

Kwick burts bees pomegranate lip balm is lovely

ladyyyglittersparkles · 15/06/2017 22:11

I am actually going to list the things I have to use up during the next few days.
You have been warned 😂 it will be a long read!

ememem84 · 15/06/2017 22:25

Signing in.

mint second that re lip balm. Pomegranate is lush!

I finished Carmex pot today. Hooray!

Still no further forwards on my 5 for summer.

kwick · 16/06/2017 07:31

That is the one I am just finishing mint - I need a change!

No empties but:

  • giving Seventeen Instant Glow shimmer brick to local Woman's Shelter - looks mank in me, is barely used and may well suit someone else better
  • chucking Maybelline NY bricks bronzer 01 as it has shattered
  • chucking empty case of Chanel vitalumiere aqua compact: why oh why do I hoard these things?????

Good work kwick. I had a dragon moment and went a bit enthusiastic in Kiko. Such lovely things but I only went in for nail file! Bought eye primer, face powder, make up setting spray, lipstick and eyeliner that promises to last forever! There was a gorgeous mini collection to celebrate 25 years but I managed to resist. I have at least 4 bronzers and never wear any so def didn't need another even though there was a very beautiful one, all sparkly loveliness!
So no empties and more newbies!

Strawberryfield12 · 16/06/2017 16:26

I have finished Neals Yard Remedies lavender deodorant. Decided to switch over to aluminum free deodorants and this one seemed to be working quite well even during the first weeks when it's expected to be sweating more. I have Aurelia deodorant to use now, but started to think about cheaper alternatives for non-aluminum?

d270r0 · 16/06/2017 16:44

I have used up a pack of simple cleansing wipes (but have 2 more packs in the stash!) and a dove deoderant stick which is a staple for me. Nothing exciting yet!

FrustratedFrugal · 16/06/2017 18:01

PinkiePie loving your Kiko moment! Grin

kwick · 16/06/2017 18:03

Kiko is dangerous Another: STEP AWAY!!!

I am trying the same strawberry but my Jason Aloe Vera one did just not cut it on a trip to Spain and have reverted to a more traditional deoderant. Not sure if it has aluminium.
The Dr Organics ones at H&B (roll on) go mouldy Shock

Well done d2!

Another empty - Arran Aromatics soap. Was very nice, but I'd had it so long it had lost all the scent.

Strawberryfield12 · 16/06/2017 21:05

I'm sure I saw Dr.Organics on some of the "good" deodorants list today when researching online kwick. Well, I guess it was all so organic that it was growing a mold.... I'll make sure I don't buy it. The two I mentioned were working fairly good, on first few weeks after switching there were few days when it suddenly stopped working at 6pm sharp (12 hours later). But deodorant for £10-£20 feels quite expensive. Ordered Pitrok on Amazon, seems to have lots of positive reviews and at £4 it's worth to give it a try.

woodhill · 16/06/2017 22:21

Preparing for holiday and finding all my small toiletries. Amazing what I have already

kwick · 17/06/2017 05:32

I am thinking that as we are going away for 10 days!!!!! (So exciting - I recently have only ever managed a week) that I will just buy shampoo and conditioner and maybe even body lotion there? Travel sizes won't be big enough for most items.

IPokeBadgers · 17/06/2017 11:19

Hey all. Finished one of the many shower gels last night: Elemis Sweet Orchid. Liked it and would use again but have so many shower gels in the stash I am not allowed to buy any more. I always underestimate how long it takes to use things up.

littlepooch · 17/06/2017 12:22

So envious of all the holidays you all have coming up!

I have an empty from my 5 in list! Yay! A large bottle of soap and glory shower gel in sugar crush. It was a lovely shower gel but the bottle is just massive and takes ages to get through! I am cracking open a deluxe sample size bottle of clarins shower oil next - I've been saving it but feel I need a treat as struggling with pregnancy related ailments at the moment. It smells divine.

So I have 3 off the list done but unlikely I will get through the last two but I will keep trying!

woodhill · 17/06/2017 13:08

Used my body shop tangerine shower gel and eau dynisimante body lotion.

I will be decanting some stuff into travel size bottles and I tend to take more than one of each

mintmagnummm · 17/06/2017 13:20

Do any of you know a good moisturiser for very sensitive/reactive combination dehydrated spot prone skin?? Needs to be fragrance free (artificial perfume), hydrating and creamy but instantly absorbed with no residue! Does this exist??

bunnybleu · 17/06/2017 14:41

I hope no one minds if I join you? Long term lurker, occasional commenter (probably under old usernames!) but I think it's time to join in. After finally calming my skin down, I've been able to go back to using Liz Earle's Cleanse and Polish which I love, but is quite pricey. Thinking I ought to find something cheaper, it's occurred to me that in the last couple of weeks I've probably wasted the cost of it on a handful of cheaper products, so I'd just as well have bought the LE in the first place!!

So, the Elemis has been sent back to qvc, the Waitrose stuff is in the cabinet for weekly use (it's grainy and quite heavy so too rich for everyday) and I've given the Body Shop butter and something else to my DD.

I'm a bit of a sucker for picking up bits here and there but would like to streamline my stash and settle on as few products as possible that work (and ideally aren't tested on animals). Will join in the next challenge properly but for now will concentrate on getting through what I've got.
