Reccomendations from you lovely ladies plz, need a new concealer, needs to be high coverage as i have acne, lots of scars and rosacea. Also, i hav pale skin with a yellow undertone. Thanks in advance and FWIW i have never emptied any beauty product in my life lol. Hundreds and hudreds of half empty bottles. Never stick to anything!!

suchatiredbunny · 05/10/2017 18:19

Mint you've hit the nail on the head I think as I did come on today. I normally get the big cystic TOTM spots so lots of little ones threw me off the scent. However, I sat in my bedroom in glorious sunshine this afternoon and had a good look in a mirror. It seems I have some hairs around my chin/jaw like my mother and I think some are where these come through the skin.

Good idea to exfoliate, I had a rummage and dug out some Clinique mild toner so will add that in and see if that helps. I have a feeling I've tried Pixi Glow before but didn't get on with it. I might see if I can find a travel/trial size and see how I get on.

Flatbum if you can find Tarte Shape Tape (I got mine on qvc) that's excellent at covering and not creasing. I think it's intended for undereyes but I use it where I need it and it does a good job at covering up the pink marks that my spots leave behind.

I have used up an orchard and bloom shower gel. It was a hotel freebie (100ml though!) so glad thats out the way. Was very thick and gloopy so wasn't very keen. I'll replace it with a soap and glory full size pulp friction body scrub from the stash.

The qvc calendar is not yet on the qvc site, but if you look on the london diaries list it shows it with all its products. Will link

Advent calendar guide

suchatiredbunny · 05/10/2017 18:57

Ooh, thanks for that link!!! Definitely going to treat myself to the QVC one.

kwick · 05/10/2017 18:57

outtogetyou I love the variety that the advent brings - yes of course some products will not sort and those I gift on, but finding gems and trying products I have been hankering after make this a cost effective way to bring joy to my life.

Thank you so much d2!

It looks very tempting... it could fill the days in between 24-31 from my other advents....

Ememem I totally understand what you mean, I felt like I lost 'myself' a bit after having both kids. It's good to carve out a little bit of me time, even if it's just using a favourite shower gel

I have one more empty:
54. LPM shower gel -olive flower. Fab, fab, fab scent and sadly the last of my LPM stash purchased on holidays

I actually had to buy shampoo yesterday as have none in the stash Shock. I also got an Una Brennan serum for €10 in TK Maxx - not strictly needed but will be used.

In other news, I've been busy using up my scented candle collection also. I've finished all candles with the exception of some Xmas ones which I'll save till December. I 'treated' myself to 2 of the Aldi Jo Malone dupes. Can highly recommend the Lime, Basil & Mandarin and the Blackberry Bay Smile

d270r0 · 05/10/2017 19:06

Yes it looks great doesn't it! But I've decided I'm only getting 1 (unless I can get one in the sale in December as well) and am leaning towards the qvc one now. No longer keen on the amazon one so its between qvc and m&s. I would use most of the products in either but think I'm more excited by the qvc ones.

purpleprincess24 · 05/10/2017 19:28

I got the m&s beauty advent last year and loved it, definitely getting another this year

suchatiredbunny · 05/10/2017 19:49

My concern about the M&S one is what I'd spend the £35 on to be able to get it! Grin

mintmagnummm · 05/10/2017 20:34

Bunny I find that I always get twitchy around my totm and feel like I want to change all my skincare because I'm not happy, I have to remind myself it's my hormones and not my products!

Flatbum · 05/10/2017 20:44

Thank you so much for your reply suchatiredbunny, I have just bought it

kwick · 06/10/2017 07:59

curragh I am so impressed! What strategy did you employ with said scented candles? I have about a million IKEA tea lights...

bunny I have thought about that too... but I think beauty products are excluded so maybe some undies? 😬

Used up the Caudalie product in ASOS advent!

Still have not found my entire stash... must do more unpacking & sorting this weekend!

bunny if I will eventually decide to go for M&s calendar, my £35 mainly will go towards DH Christmas pyjamas. Few years ago we started to buy new ones to put on Christmas Eve and this year is my turn tu get them. They are around £30 the rest will be either socks, basic t-shirt or something for DD.

suchatiredbunny · 06/10/2017 09:50

PJs are a good idea.....I could think of some basics for the kids too. It does look nice and I didn't get one last year and wished I had....thanks Strawberry

Happy to report that after using the Clinique toner twice yesterday and again this morning, my spots are looking much better and less red. So will keep using it and hope it helps keep them at bay.

flatbum did you buy from qvc? I like mine, I bought it for my dark circles but then found it's great on spots too. You can tap it in with your finger or blend it out with a beauty blender and I find it stays put well (and doesn't crease under the eyes). I ordered two shades and kept the darker one (could really do with one in between but they don't have this on qvc) and actually once it's blended in the colour is fine. Hope you like it.

ememem84 · 06/10/2017 10:09

Today is an indoors day. Dh has taken the car to work (and with it the pram wheels and ds’ car seat -oops I meant to grab these out last night and forgot!) so we’re staying in.

Am planning on some “self care” today. Nice hot shower, moisturiser everywhere (including feet) nice face. Hair up. Comfy clothes and just chilling out. Must take nail polish off my toes. Had a pedi in early August. Only big toes remain.

curragh · 06/10/2017 14:25

Kwick I put a candle in the lounge, our bedroom ensuite, main bathroom and kitchen and started lighting them every evening. Like so much else in life it's just habit.

Also did you know there is a 'correct ' way to burn candles to avoid tunnelling...google it!

IPokeBadgers · 06/10/2017 16:31

Another empty....a cream eyeshadow that had been on the go for a couple of years....loved this, thought it was a reasonable dupe for one of the benefit cream shadows.

Back from Greece and I Did Not Buy Anything 😱

I finished a Max Factor Sunbronze lipstick and an Innisfree Açai sheet mask during the trip.

Looking forward to catching up!

kwick · 06/10/2017 17:32

Wow amazeballs advice curragh!!! Thanks!!!

eme how are things going?

Well done badgers!!!

Was that on purpose frugal or did nothing catch the eye?

Lei know - as it starts getting colder using candles gets easier - they seem to make you feel warmer

Having a sort out this weekend , going to have a use it up basket of a few things out. Can't remember who recommended it but thank you.

Haven't bought anything else, however did get some boots face sheet things in the post to test, that doesn't count does it Grin

kwick · 07/10/2017 13:13

Shopping my make-up stash and having a bit of a sort through - all these items are going in the bin - just have not worked out as I wanted.

OK, I used up the Neals Yard toner, which was all of 25ml!

Still got at least one more use of the HAG Ultra Melt, but that will be done tonight. A deo is nearly done, but that doesn't really count as it's just a day to day item, and I have ordered two to replace it (on offer!), though I still need to use up the four aerosol ones as well.

Accidentally bought an Aldi Lacuna anti-aging face mask, oops.

I also have a candle problem! I bought an M&S one last week, and an Ikea one a couple of weeks ago, and an Aldi one today, plus reed sticks. Sigh. I do at least use candles though. I have (counts...) 6 in play currently.

Strawberryfield12 · 07/10/2017 20:56

Have used Rituals shower gel 50ml, Sanctuary foaming micellar water and Stenders full size body butter. The micellar water is probably one of the most gimmicky skincare product I have used in recent years. What exactly is the point of it foaming if as soon as it touches the skin it turns into water anyway. And didn't take the make up off too well.

One a more exiting note, this morning got an email about lookfantastic calendar being delivered on Tuesday. Probably just like anyone else who preordered, but still exciting.

Oh, candles... I've got a problem with the White Company candles. I think for the quality they are probably the best priced of all I have come across and I keep buying them more than I should. Have National Trust candle on at the moment, which I bought on their summer sale. Nice enough and @ half price - lush. We usually use up quite a lot of candles during the winter time, but not enough though.
