Thanks, Kwik there is some mauve but I had a real job when editing and uploading photo as it did not appear in the choices.

d270r0 · 30/09/2017 09:21

Ooh you are starting it on 1st October Kwick!? Will you keep us updated each day? That one was on my shortlist but have decided against it in order to get a cheaper one.

I have used up number 2 of my 13- a body shop monoi moisture balm 50ml. Very old so glad to have it out the way but it was quite nice.

woodhill · 30/09/2017 16:29

Eyes closed but more lines

Really unflattering skin on photo

kwick · 30/09/2017 18:57

But d2 what happens if I spoil it for someone else? I am happy to report back but would not want to take the fun out of it for someone who was waiting until 1/12...

I really like that wood 😘

I have bought a few choice items for new bathroom & me

I have an empty:

  • Clarins extra-firming mask 8ml: not sure about firming action but quite moisturising

Thanks Kwik Smile

I'm very self critical

I've one empty - a jar of hand cream and my rodial cleanser is nearly gone

Anyone had success with those glue on nails

CantChoose · 30/09/2017 19:58

Oh I like the eyeshadow too!

I've hit pan on my Lancôme palette - the face powder and two of the eye shadows.
The darkest eyeshadow and the blxher are going to last forever though :/

CantChoose · 30/09/2017 20:00

What did you buy kwik??
I'm having massive indecision about the advent calendars. I'm thinking of getting the ASOS and the marks. But not sure i should get two. And also like the look of the look fantastic one...

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 30/09/2017 21:35

Looking good wood
Confused kwick sorry. I meant your vlog idea. But podcast would be good too.
Not in spirit of thread as nothing finished but took an order from the Ordinary. Vitamin c, rosehip oil and azetic acid. All used before and love.
Also 2 foundations. The serum foundation is fab so far! Only tried today but looking good 12 hours later. Will just leave that there. #enabler!

OutToGetYou · 30/09/2017 21:59

A nempty!

I went to get a face mask (and threw out two already opened sachets, why do I think I will use the rest another time??) and remembered this one which I knew only had a but left, it was expensive so I was 'saving it' (rolls eyes!). Enough for one mask, in which I am now sitting. I must have had this three years.

After this I will put on No7 moisturising mask which I have had over 5 years, that won't use it yup, think it has about four more uses in it.

Behold the emptiness! (I love the little spatula with it, but am resisting keeping it 'just in case')

wood I have used glue on nails! The best I have found are the Broadway french manicure ones - I have very small hands and they have a petite range (only time I can "fit" into a petite range 😂). If you take a lot of time using up a pack the glue can go dry but you can but that seperately.
They typically last a week before they start to come off.

Wow cant!!! Well done - hitting pan is MAJOR!!!

cant you have great taste Grin those are the three I have chosen! I started day 1 ASOS just now & it has not disappointed so far!

Thanks another I need to come up with a snazzy name for my channel....
The thing about the The Ordinary is that it is a) a quality product, b) looks well nice in my new bathroom, c) is cheap as chips so should be guilt free Grin

Well done out!!!

So I got a few choice items:

  • Bayliss & Harding lavender amd camomille handwash: perfect for new bathroom
  • Body Shop almond and honey body lotion
  • Body Shop vitamin E lip balm
  • Body Shop trial size banana shampoo (I had a £10 voucher)
  • a new hairbrush
  • Nivea in shower moisturiser (😍 this stuff)
  • panty liners
  • clearsil pads (for my nephew)
  • simple micellar water (sooooo much cheaper in Superdrug than Boots)
  • cos I bought 3 skincare products in Superdrug I got a Carmex kit of two lip balms
... just a small haul...

I have collected all the spare skincare and makeup I have been storing in different drawers&shelves in two bathrooms and put them all in one big drawer in my bedroom. I have re-grouped my stash by the different types. I have come to some interesting conclusions. My stash in total number of items at the moment isn't terribly big. Being in the Q4 means I have used up awful lot from the last year's advent calendars. However. I have ridiculous amount of moisturizers: three full size and eight smaller ones (still 20-30ml each). And I have equally stupid amount of mascara: two full size and five smaller (7ml) ones. Also have pulled together all the body lotions together, there are about seven small bottles from different hotels, some more than five years old, I suspect. So got some clear areas I have to focus to use up even though I still have only one face and two eyes...

kwick · 01/10/2017 17:31

Sounds terribly organised strawberry well done! I am still trying to find elements of my stash which got put in different boxes.

I have an empty! And it is from my 13 for Halloween list of which I still need to finish 6 items.

  • Yves Rocher anti-fatigue iced gel for feet: quite cooling but a bootle of frozen water does the trick better!

Oh and I used up first advent calendar item 😇

Strawberryfield12 · 01/10/2017 20:05

kwick I am dying out of curiosity as to what was the Nr1 item... And I am having second thoughts as to whether to get as a second calendar Liberty or M&S. It's ridiculous, I had fully decided it would be Lookfantastic and M&S, but now I am again thinking I will be kicking myself for not getting Liberty's. I can't believe I am having dilemma of my life over this...

suchatiredbunny · 01/10/2017 21:22

I have three empties! Finally, the Issey Miyake Florale is empty which I'm very glad about as I'd had enough of it! Two lipsticks have been binned, one as it was done and the other as although it was nearly finished, it had gone gritty. All three are on my 13 list so that's good progress.

In other news, I'm rather liking the Pantene mousse conditioner. It doesn't make my hair greasy or my scalp itch. I also bought a Palmers body lotion to try for my itchy arms which seems to have done the trick as they're ok again now. I wonder if the Aveeno was making them itch, so have put the new one back in DS2s room and will stick to Epaderm for my legs and the Palmers cocoa butter for everywhere else.

OutToGetYou · 01/10/2017 23:56

I've used up something else. Bit of a cheat as it only had a smidge left and I've already replaced it - Soap and Glory body scrub.
I've identified two more targets - S&G Ultra melt which is nearly finished and N&F body glycolic thing, again, not much left.
So hopefully two more things in a couple of days.

kwick · 02/10/2017 08:05

strawberry I truly understand your predicament Grin
Day 2's item - glorious!

Fab progress bunny!!!

OP posts:
mintmagnummm · 02/10/2017 08:08

Bunny I don't get on with aveeno either but swear by palmers and have used it for years.

I have an empty, avene anti ageing spf 50. Really like this and already have another in the the cupboard.

curragh · 02/10/2017 10:23

Congrats em, what a gorgeous baby.

Kwick bathroom looks great. I'm extremely lucky as DH designs and makes bespoke furniture so I have have 2 x deep 900mm drawers under my ensuite sink Smile

curragh · 02/10/2017 10:27

Posted too soon, have 2 empties

  1. Travel size Clarins shower gel
  2. Drumroll....L'Oréal nude magique bb cream. This has been on my 'use up' list since May and is my first make up empty since joining the thread Grin

6 of my 13 for Halloween are left but am on track to finish most or all of them on time.

kwick · 02/10/2017 15:27

curragh lucky you!!! Your house must be lovely & everything fitting perfectly.

comeagainforbigfudge · 02/10/2017 19:52

I have nothing to report other than i bought one of the estee lauder charity boxes.... for breast cancer research.... i mean, if its for charity it cant count, can it?

kwick · 02/10/2017 22:20

Of course that does not count come! Grin

OP posts:
LifeofClimb · 02/10/2017 22:42

I've been counting my stash for about 3 years, from the money saver expert thread originally. Managed to get my overall total of cosmetics and toiletries down from 250 to 120. I know this is not a dash on what some of you might have Grin I've never had much storage space so never been able to go mad but I still managed to hoard lots, that I wasn't using. So I stopped buying and only replace essentials (unless I have an "oops" purchase...).

I still have a collection of 8 perfumes when I know it takes me a full year to use a bottle with daily use. Grin Really makes me think twice now that I know how long things really do take to use up...
