This is has been inspired by the 'How to look expensive thread' and I've seen a couple other specific threads and thought 'why not?'. This can be a place to share our wish lists or ask about prices if someone doesn't have a certain store near them etc. Or just be handbag porn !

I know handbags always cause controversy but I think we can all agree to live and let others live. This is a DESIGNER HANDBAG thread - please do not read further if it offends you.

I'll start. I am LOVING the Dior Diorama and have decided ,if all goes according to plan, to treat myself before the year ends.
Also loving the Louis Vuitton Palm Springs mini. Does anyone have either?

I would love to buy a proper 1k+ bag one day...I'm absolutely in love with the majority I see in Vogue etc but it's a pipe dream for now...hoping DC will have super dooper jobs in the future and buy me a few on landmark birthdays

For now I make do with the budget brand Floozie by FrostFrench ...collected 7 so far (all in the sale! ) But saluting you ladies spending your hard earned on these beautiful hand held pieces of art :)

I don't get the hate, nice bags are out my price range currently but I love looking and dreaming.

I have my granny's old Chanel (not sure the type it's old) and I would save that second only to my DC and dog in a fire.

Does anyone have any advice on whether the zipped bayswater or bayswater with the strap is better? Undecided between which one to get. I prefer the look of the zipped bayswater but a strap is useful

For those eyeing up the Gucci sohos, I'm pretty sure the soho range is now in Gucci Bicester. Deffo the larger hobos. Give them a call to check and they tend to be very helpful and let you know the price..

I've needed a smaller bag that's not a clutch in a neutral colour for evenings for a long time, as I currently only have a beautiful suede fringed bag from Saint Laurent.

Ahh it looked bobbly already when it arrived and the shoulder strap isn't that good quality so it's going back. Disappointing.

My dad is being useless in getting me a Lancel (you need a European billing address as well as shipping address so I was gonna pay him back). Might need to try another European relative.

I have the Celine belt bag in black as mentioned previously and the Lancel bucket bag in aubergine. I'd like another smart/casual bag that's less structured than the céline but not too slouchy. Ideas?

I won't touch mulberry or MK / Coach etc (no offence).

@MovingtoParadise there is a larger version without the shoulder strap but having seen both IRL i honestly think the one with the strap is nicer in terms of proportions and the way it carries. It isn't huge but big enough for everyday essentials (not A4 papers). I carry purse sunglasses makeup bag and a water bottle in mine. Possibly a small book too.

@Dancergirl at the risk of being flamed (although this is a safe space for handbag lovers right ? ) I just think they are too commonplace / unoriginal (mulberry, Anna whatsherface, and Kate spade) and then coach / MK to me are tacky (don't like lots of embellishments, and the quality is terrible). My taste is more clean lines and minimal hardware, best quality design and materials trumping a label name. Hence I equally avoid Lv / Gucci because they are a bit flashy although I have considered some of their more understated ones.

I know what you mean grumpy I'm not keen on MK for that reason.

Some Coach bags are very nice for the money. I picked up a Scout Hobo in their sale last year for £137! It's a lovely bag, not blingy at all and nice quality.

I do love Mulberry though!

Where can you buy Lancel from?

I got my Lancel bag from Dubai airport, I've never seen them in the UK. They are French and annoyingly the website will have only accept European billing and shipping addresses. I'll have to do a Paris trip.
