Designer handbag thread. Warning; Not for the faint hearted

This is has been inspired by the 'How to look expensive thread' and I've seen a couple other specific threads and thought 'why not?'. This can be a place to share our wish lists or ask about prices if someone doesn't have a certain store near them etc. Or just be handbag porn !

I know handbags always cause controversy but I think we can all agree to live and let others live. This is a DESIGNER HANDBAG thread - please do not read further if it offends you.

I'll start. I am LOVING the Dior Diorama and have decided ,if all goes according to plan, to treat myself before the year endsSmile.
Also loving the Louis Vuitton Palm Springs mini. Does anyone have either?

Anyone up for the thread ??

Is the disco the small crissbody

FuckyNell · 12/04/2017 19:44

Cross

FuckyNell · 12/04/2017 19:44

With a tassel?

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 12/04/2017 19:52

Yes. It's my birthday tomorrow and I was going to get the red disco but not sure how long until it's passé ?
The marmont attracts me as well.

I also really would love a neverfull with the pale pink lining.

Realistically I need the neverfull and a large tote with large straps rather than a small across body bag. But I do like the marmont.

speckledyhen I have that Mulberry Effie bag , in chocolate. I was given it by DH some years ago and decided to make it my everyday bag as it was so expensive.. but I was so dissapointed in it as the strap stretched really badly within just a few months (seems like it couldnt cope with being used in the winter weather/ rain and normal wear and tear )and it now just looks terrible and I never use it . (Yours looks great did you use it much? Any sign of ther strap stretching )

I do think Mulberry take the P a bit, though, they quoted me £150 for a new strap a few years ago , and also wanted me to send it to them to be done( at more cost), .

I never did .. cant justify that , (also I think they could have just sent me a new strap as it just buckles on,).. So its just hanging unused and squished up on the coat rack.. spose i should just chuck it really ..

I never worked out how they could get away with producing such an expensive bag which was really just a shell, no lining, no inner pockets either ..

Ok rant over ..

Since then I have just gone back to a Radley Grosvenor and Fossill crossbodies.. Though I have just bought a Jaegar Hix backpack which Ilove ( only to see them now go bust!)

Perhaps I am not the designer bag type

Thanks for the Fashionfile tip, Spice.

I'm a member of the Purse Forum too but not all that active.

I love the Celine Mini Belt too, unfortunately, it's too bulky on me Sad.

Anyone have any experience with Meli Melo by any chance? Have become quite taken by the Thela as of recent and their prices aren't in the insane leagues for a change.

brick, depending on the brands you're looking at, Forzieri currently has 30% off the new collections. Equally, LuisaViaRoma and L'IndeLePalais are good to keep an eye on once they start going on sale.

The Effie strap is prone to stretching Laska which is a shame . Mine is holding up well as I rotate them all and try not to over fill them . Don't chuck it ! Sell it :)

AspasiaFitzgibbon · 12/04/2017 20:09

FuckyNell yes that's the one. You can get a surprising amount in and the leather is gorgeous.

FuckyNell · 12/04/2017 20:13

I love that one Asp

I'm totally here for the pictures.

I've got a Chloe Marcie (large, tan). So not uber pricey, but still a bit special:

Speckledy, I cant really, DH would be a bit hurt I think.. he was so pleased to have got it as a surprise for me
, but I have just seen some on ebay , that apart from the strap look in worse condition than mine and have sold for quite alot ,. Am surprised.

Maybe ill take it up with DH .. he has offered to pay for a new strap , The bag itself is in good condition , not worn or stained at all , as I really only used it a few months, (just sadly a bit squished right now from years being stuffed behind coats as you can see)Blush

Its just the strap .. but do they still do that Darwin leather ?

.. marks are on the phone not the bag!

AspasiaFitzgibbon · 12/04/2017 20:32

Loving the Empreinte, Fucky. I've never owned a Vuitton.

JaneEyre70 · 12/04/2017 20:35

I'm so in love with this My Lady Dior bag but at £2500 I don't think it's a remote possibility. We went to Prague late last year and there was an amazing array of bag shops there. I was in window shopping heaven sigh.

Cèline Trapeze fan here. I'm 40 next year so contemplating it as a birthday present to myself.

mrssmith79 · 12/04/2017 20:53

About 8 years ago I saved like a mofo and bought myself a Bayswater. This was about a fortnight before we went on the holiday from hell to Marmaris in Turkey. Cue everyone assuming it was a Turkish market snide for months afterwards Angry.

Laska5772 · 12/04/2017 20:56

I like this Chloe Marcie Tote If only it had a shoulder strap and I had the money! Thats where I went wrong with my Mulberry strap.. using it as a shoulder bag..Sad

SpeckledyHen · 12/04/2017 20:57

Laska It's worth sending an email to CS - there's a lot of Chocolate bags around still so hopefully they have some for repairs . I have a Ginger bag and I know they don't have any of that left .
£150 is a lot for a strap I agree .

Laska5772 · 12/04/2017 20:58

Nice (and cheaper) in Black also
