Queen I have burgundy boots but don't really match shoes and bags anymore - grey or navy would be good though.

Loved The Good Wife - waiting for Netflix to get series 6. Also really enjoyed the Affair which I watched over 3 days last week , but would agree with Amber that it tailed off a bit.

Have been out with dh & ds's tonight - amazingly we all managed to agree on a film AND a restaurant so had a pretty good evening out.

Then left the phone balanced on a hand towel, of course I forgot and it got knocked behind the radiator. Couldn't get it out, thought I'd need the radiator removed (we're doing that soon anyway but not soon enough) went out last night for dinner and Dh and little D's got it out. Such a nice surprise!

Going to read your Paris tips again. A French relative used to live in the Marais I loved it, will be good to go back. They nearly booked a train getting in at 10pm but luckily it sold out so we get in at ark round 6pm. Hopefully time for a look. Will print them out, and look on a map before I go.

QueenC - Navy & burgundy or a rich charcoal would look great on you. I now have a hankering for burgundy suede boots. In my teens they were the "must-have" item which I never had & I've never gotten over my love for them.

I've never considered myself matchy-matchy but read Amber's confession of matching hardware & jewellery & realised I do that too.

I never have the problem of matching hardware as I only do silver but if I did do gold I would definitely have to match. Does anyone else have to match their underwear apart from blingy? I only do black or nude so that everything matches.

The burgundy question was because I've seen some potential interview shoes but was wondering on bag but you've reassured me that black would be fine.

I don't match hardware but I think all except one of my bags have gold or brass anyway, and I wear yellow gold jewellery.

I have a Vogue public service announcement: On 1st October the law changed, so that when you return goods bought online the seller also has to refund the cheapest delivery fee (so if you pay extra for next day you don't get that back). I've had to message Matches to ask for my £5 back, so be aware :)

Finally found (and have ordered) an LBD that satisfied my criteria of being affordable, designer and not too revealing: here (but in black, of course). Do you think it'll suit me?

been very busy with uni work so have been reading but not posting much anywhere.

queenC i'd do burgundy with a black bag as well, that said i never match shoes and bag, i just use whatever bag i've got on the go at that moment in time so maybe i'm not the best judge

OOTD is a knee length berry coloured cord skirt, grey Nirvana band tee, black ribbed boyfriend cardigan, black opaques and black suede ankle boots. will add a berry/purple scarf and grey or navy hoodie later when i go out

I don't really clash either as I'll wear a black bra with black pants but not necessarily pants of the same brand as the bra.

I agree, burgundy works with a black, navy or dark grey bag.

I am wearing opaques for the first time today with a Uniqlo Ines de la Fressange dress I bought last year but still had the tags on. And Tod's loafers which makes the whole outfit a bit preppy but I like it.

Oh yes, underwear is never mismatched, , always matching, i buy two pair of underwear to every bra I buy, it just makes me feel better knowing Im wearing good underwear. today I have on la perla blue lace set, its just so pretty ,

I went out of town today,semi rural, beautiful open fields, glorious ,made me want to go out for a run in the fresh air, but I was visiting someone so had no appropriate gear on, might sneak out early tomorrow morning and do it, its not a very long drive from home,

Wearing, marant checked shirt and wrap skirt, marant Andrew boots, chanel jacket,,and yes opaques are on too,

You're like my DM lara she also buys several matching knickers whenever she buys a new bra.

I do the same as Lara and Linus' dm - I find it impossible to not wear matching underwear.

Simple lbd but could dress up with lots of bling and fab shoes.

In my fantasy life, all my underwear matches and is adorned by a La Perla label . The reality is mostly black or nude, mostly Calvin Klein for bras, some DKNY and a heap of M&S knickers.

Jigsaw order arrived today. The breton is meh. Thin fabric and clingy rather than the softly slouched look on the model. I'm annoyed because the summer version of this was fab - very soft, thick and worth the price tag. The berry jumper is lovely but terribly itchy. So I think they are both destined to be returned.

I did have some success today though. White leather Converse to go with my IM trousers and skinny jeans/pleathers. Cotton knit chunky jumper which I bought a size larger to accommodate my ridiculously long body and plaid shirt which looks great layered beneath the jumper. I can see myself living in these last two items for most weekends between now & next March! And also an organic cotton breton which is actually far superior quality to the Jigsaw version.
