Thanks Mara Flowers

MarshaBrady · 08/09/2015 19:36

Mara I nearly replied I've been there for a party with the dc - some racing track - then luckily reread about your dh being there and got supercar Grin

Shop just one day, early flight then back.

I did get round to asking about flights to HK which will be business class. That would be so fab. Probably won't be until next year, and maybe only once after all, but still. Look away everyone who flies business every time they travel, I'm sure you're used to it!.

MarshaBrady · 08/09/2015 19:37

Oh and glasses look perfect Shop, good work

LinusLovesBretons · 08/09/2015 19:48

Evening!

Have I missed your glasses shop?

mara I am still doing 5:2 but unfortunately don't seem to be losing any weight anymore. Sad

I would like to lose a few more kg but maybe I've reached my limit? I don't mind fasting for two days but will try fasting one day to see if I can maintain my weight. I am actually considering doing something like the soup diet flr a week to lose those last kg and then fasting one day a week to keep them off.

Sound like you both like your new jobs marsha and dry.

cressetmama welcome!

The Gucci jumper I ordered arrived today and left again after a few hours as the sizing was off and the colour wasn't what I wanted .

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 08/09/2015 20:01

I put on 5lb while I was in France Blush but I'm keeping up the running so don't want to do 5:2 as well. I'd join you otherwise Linus and mara as it did work for me.

V exciting to have international travel so soon Marsha, and Hong Kong would be amazing.

shop I bet those glasses look great on you.

Does anyone know roughly when Matches send out their ??100 off ??300 codes? I NEED one now!

FedupNagging · 08/09/2015 20:41

Am well impressed with your weight loss Queen think I need to try a lot harder no willpower

Marsha your job sounds like it will be great if you get to do a bit of overseas travel although I guess juggling the dc's may be a bit of a headache.

Glad you are enjoying your job so far Dry - you may need to bit the bullet and wrap up a bit warmer Sad

Cressetmama those brogues you have linked look incredibly stylish - can someone buy them pleeaase?!

After admiring the coatigan links am thinking I NEED one along with the furry gilet; its very frustrating not being able to buy anything until some weight has been shed.

Drywhitethanks · 08/09/2015 21:09

Opaques tomorrow! Grin

shopafrolic · 08/09/2015 21:18

Glasses are on Pin Linus
Anyone tried Villoid yet?

onemightywizard · 08/09/2015 21:41

I know you like your LBD dry and I know this is traffic stopping in colour but I saw THIS and thought of you, with fierce shoes and your new black clutch.

libertydoddle · 08/09/2015 21:46

Great glasses shop and the Zara shirt looks like a good purchase. White C jacket is fab.

stokey I am intrigued by the book too! Blair are you still writing? I am thinking about doing the November 'write a novel in a month' challenge this year.

Mara I am a big poetry fan. Happy to read the stuff for hours.

topaz I keep forgetting to say congrats on your new home. Hope all is going well.

Marsha I'll get excited about business class with you. I have never ventured out of economy!

Great shoes fedup

Right, bedtime for me.... And yes to opaques dry Smile

Topazandpearl · 08/09/2015 21:49

Love the glasses shop. I hate buying glasses. I am so short-sighted that I am very restricted in what frames I can have as the lenses get so thick towards the edge. I need the smallest possible frames, yet, now that I need varifocals ( Hmm), I need larger frames. No win! (Sorry, rant over).

Thank you for the new house congrats. Very busy here but loving it!

MarshaBrady · 08/09/2015 21:52

Me either Lib! hope it happens now, they get upgraded to 1st sometimes too. just got to do the work first

It's ok Fedup I think as dh never travels, so he's here to pick up the slack a bit. Otherwise we'd have to have a live in nanny which we don't have.

Blair that's great on the running, I'm wondering if I can run home from work Confused

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 08/09/2015 22:00

How far would that be Marsha? I think Amber used to do a running commute. I am still a complete amateur, but surprised and happy at how much I am enjoying it.

Lib not lately, which isn't good because I am much happier when I do. Bad me! I'll cheer you on if you do Nanowrimo. I would do it again but don't think I have 50k words left in this one.

Topaz you must be even more short sighted than me, I have to get the coke bottle lenses slimmed down, they are annoyingly expensive!

Longislandicetee · 08/09/2015 22:08

Great to hear the new jobs are going well, dry and marsha. Glad you're excited about the travel too. Wink. ignores my own upcoming horror of six international flights in next 3 months.

I have no idea how you were not wearing tights today dry! I wore Armani belted shift dress with tights Grin and the Louboutins again. I painted my nails to match my handbag. You have heard it all now! Grin.

Longislandicetee · 08/09/2015 22:11

sorry meant to add QueenC is it you who likes cowl neck tops?

MarshaBrady · 08/09/2015 22:13

Blingy after a while it will wear off, I'm sure Wink, and it's not that much.

Blair will have to calculate somehow. It's that, or pre-work run. Dealing with the clothes thing if I do it from work will be a pita, esp as it gets colder.

QueenofCardigans · 08/09/2015 22:14

Can't bear poetry, never understand the bloody stuff Grin.
Great shirtbshop. Wish I could wear them as ive seen loads that I like this season.
blair you've reminded me that I haven't looked at grabble yet. Off to do so now....

Longislandicetee · 08/09/2015 22:29

jaw drops. Don't think this will be my replacement MaxMara cashmere scarf! Shock

AmberNectarine · 09/09/2015 07:14

I did indeed Blair was between 6 and 10 miles for me depending on whether I went to my parents (who sometimes have DC) or home.

Two things that annoy me about running home:

  1. My route takes me down the strand, the mall and the Kings road. Sooo many slow walking people who I want to punch in be back of the head getting in my way.
  1. My running rucksack chafes my neck and gives me marks that look like lovebites, so I have to wear a high collared top.

Otherwise it's good exercise and certainly over shorter distances, doesn't really take a lot longer than public transport.

shopafrolic · 09/09/2015 08:21

Morning all! Safe flight Marsha
QueenC Take a look at AC's one Villoid too (I linked on page 1) if you look at Grabble
Not liking that scarf at all Blingy - liked it even less when I saw the price Grin

Stokey · 09/09/2015 08:51

Great glasses Shop and really like the coatigan you linked.

The book idea is in its VERY early stages and may come to nothing. I just realised that I wasn't really get anywhere on my job hunt and part of the reason is that I'm not very motivated by what I was doing (financial journalism) and it doesn't fit into my current lifestyle very well - late hours, daily deadlines after markets close etc.

So I'm giving myself a few months to write which is something I've always wanted to do and which made me want to be a journalist in the first place. I want to take where I live as background and look at late Victorian London and hopefully build a novel from there, but who knows! But November writing could be just what I need to get me in gear - maybe we can do it together Lib?

libertydoddle · 09/09/2015 09:44

Yes i am up for that stokey!

QueenC you have hit the nail on the head as to why so many people don't like poetry! In school you are forced to look for meaning and also a lot of the poetry studied is old and references it's time so can be tricky for a contemporary reader. There is so much fantastic 20th and 21st century poetry that you would totally get. And poems are short. TBH I often think I am being lazy as I opt for poetry over a novel when I am short on time or very busy for an easier read.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 09/09/2015 10:33

Morning all

Amber 6-10 miles, wow. My commute is about 7 miles but even if I ever got good enough I couldn't run - no shower at work.

Hope it goes well today Marsha.

Stokey that sounds so interesting, and fun too to be inspired by where you live.

Seeing my dermatologist tonight, which means an after-work trek into town. I didn't feel smart enough Blush (she is always v v groomed and classy!) so changed into DVF Bevina dress.

QueenofCardigans · 09/09/2015 12:54

Hello. Had my hair cut today. Does anyone else think of marsha when they're having the head rub during the wash or is it just me? Grin
shop I clicked on your link but was put off with it being AC!! Only briefly looked at grabble but I won't be downloading the app.
blingy I like that scarf. I like cowl necks but they don't usually like me. They're often a bit too fussy and low.

Years ago I used to run to or from work but it took so much coordination to take work clothes/lunch etc. I used baby wipes as there was no shower but it was only a couple of miles so not too sweaty.

lib I love look for meanings in books and totally loved English a level but the poetry always completely flummoxed me which is why I only got a D. As you say though it was pretty all old stuff like Wordsworth. I wandered lonely as a cloud.....

QueenofCardigans · 09/09/2015 12:57

this is the scarf that I got. Added it into an order I was doing for ds as I love stars but wasn't sure about the material. Love it though as its soft and big and a keeper
