Ahhhhh, the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness...if for you that means the joy of cosy jumpers, retrieving your favourite coats and jackets from the back of the wardrobe and an excuse to buy new boots then this is the place for you Smile. Come chat about clothes, make up and accessories, budgets from Primark to Prada. Lurkers, newbies and old hands all welcome.

Hello all

Stokey I don't think I saw that cardigan when you first linked it - it looks lovely, what a shame about the crazy sizing. The Boden sale is on if you wanted to look for the coatigan but it seems that stuff is usually more expensive in the sale than when they have their 25% off Confused

Loved the Shop accessories you found QueenC! Ripped earring hole sounds painful.

Blair I agree that the Burberry coat you pinned looks great. Think the neat fit would suit you. I am not sure who suits the wrap style - it can look very 'dressing gown'...but Blingy I think you might have one? Sure it looks good on you.

Will be interested to hear how you get on with the sparkly mary janes - they seem like the kind of shoe that will always make you smile. I do find mary-janes too girly for me.

Lib funnily enough I was going to suggest Bill Skinner and Z for Accessorize. I have seen a cute ring on the Bill Skinner website that I am tempted by.

Love the planet necklace Stokey you should get it

Love those Jil Sander trainers, beautiful colour, Justa and welcome back.

Welcome to Doobigetta

I like to dress casually but I wouldn't wear a tracksuit beyond for exercising / lounging - I think the tracksuit as every day wear is only something the tall and beautiful (i.e. models) could carry off.

How are you feeling today Shop?

BerniceBobsHerHairAgain · 05/10/2015 14:38

For Stokey - DMBL40 has done a post on long cardigans

LinusLovesBretons · 05/10/2015 17:00

Evening!

Phew, what a week last week. I haven't had time to catch up but I'm quickly popping in to say that the two pairs of MiH jeans have finally arrived.

The Tomboy slim boyfriend jeans are nice and I have been wearing them constantly but I'm not sure if they will dethrone the Jimmies. And I was right, they were cropped on the model but ankle lenght on me. Grin

The slim Nouvelle jeans are great as well but sooo long so a few hours after they arrived I took them to the seamstress to have them considerably shortened. Lovely dark wash though.

Stokey · 05/10/2015 17:12

Thanks Bernice, good post from DMBL. I was about to try a couple of the Mango ones but they're not in the slightest bit wool which concerns me.

What do we think about this Woolovers one? Their styling is so hopeless, it's always hard to tell if it's worth a punt.

While browsing Mango, I saw these tracksuit bottoms which I'm weirdly drawn to, please someone give me a slap.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 05/10/2015 17:24

shocking really Stokey that the mango ones have no wool in them. My Dsis bought a cape/coatigan type thing from tesco of all places and even THAT has wool in it. Find it very odd that a store that will charge significantly more than somewhere like tesco doesn't use decent fabrics

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 05/10/2015 17:33

Stokey step away Grin

The woolovers link is taking forever to redirect for me, will try again later.

I'm trying to plan a capsule wardrobe for my weekend away, it's harder than I thought. I've never travelled with hand luggage only before.

maradesbois · 05/10/2015 17:38

Hello Voguettes,

Bloody hell Stokey a truly shocking pair of trews Grin

Am not up to date, been working madly on my first assignment but handed in now. Conscious that I really need new clothes now I have to be a bit smarter. Not work formal but my fallback mum uniform of skinnies and breton doesn't cut it. Nice though as am wearing stuff I normally keep in the wardrobe eg ootd is Marni oversize dot dress about 5 years old with dark navy opaques and suede brogues (ignoring the rain).

Blair missed your Burberry camel coat link. Is it the cashmere trench? Love it although £££ is 100% cashmere and a classic. Am seriously thinking about marant oversized asymmetric button one.

Also thinking about

AmberNectarine · 05/10/2015 18:35

I'm enjoying not wearing mum clothes every day too Mara, though today not a high point as I am wearing a grey fleecy sweat from TS, tartan leggings and my leopard print adidas trainers.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 05/10/2015 18:39

my ootd has been a long sleeve grey tee underneath a sleeveless black knee length shift dress, aubergine coloured tights and black suede ankle boots. i had a look round for just a basic black mac but ugh all the ones i saw were that disgusting shiny material so often used in the 90's/early 00's. horrible to touch and i always hated it so i'm not going to wear again now!

maradesbois · 05/10/2015 18:43

These black brogues. Would wear them loads. Also love these loafers but know that dh will hate vocally and thus spoil any enjoyment of them!

justa good to see you, welcome back.

QueenC I remember you sounded people out a while ago about next mu but iirc don't think any consensus was reached? Was wondering if late November was better than dec for people as dec gets so booked up with Christmas stuff?

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 05/10/2015 19:02

mara why would dh hate the loafers? They look nice to me, as do the brogues! Brogues probably more practical for the coming months though?

The Burberry coat wasn't a cashmere one, sadly - it was this one and I've just noticed this single breasted one which is the same price. But I think I prefer the double breasted one. At that price it would be a seriously massive purchase for me though, and I think I'd prefer to get a few several other things this season. So beautiful though.

One outfit sounds great, very autumnal. By mac do you mean trench or an actual waterproof?

Whistles jacket was too big - Amber you were right of course. Vanity sizing is ridiculous. But the jacket is beautiful and exactly what I want, so I've reordered it as the code ends tonight and I need it by Sunday. Am collecting it from store so I can be sure I'll have it in time.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 05/10/2015 19:30

tench really blair mac is i guess just a catch all term really. I just want something that's not quite winter weight but warm enough for the autumn/spring but in black. I can't do the stone/camel/beige colours. I have a red one which while it is is lovely and the right weight etc, red doesn't always go with everything else. I was just a bit grossed out by the resurfacing of that material, it was gross back int he day and it's just as gross now!

Drywhitethanks · 05/10/2015 19:33

Stokey WAYNETTA ALERT!!!

MN Vogue Vol. 63
BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 05/10/2015 20:26

LOL Dry don't hold back Grin

One ah I thought so, just checking! This one looks nice, I have a camel one from asos also called "classic mac" but don't think it's exactly the same.

VivaVegas · 05/10/2015 20:41

Linus glad it's not just me that felt the jeans were ridiculously long! I wore mine after they were shortened for a night out on Saturday and really like them.
Wore opaques for the first time today, so cold and wet. Wore a charcoal grey pair instead of black with a grey/black print Maison Scotch dress from last winter and a black cardigan. Felt right.
Now donning pjs and attractive dressing gown as home alone and the DC tucked up in bed!

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 05/10/2015 21:37

that is quite nice Blair and i get discount on asos so i might hang on til the do a 20% offer for the discount instead of the usual 10% i am so cheap

i weighed myself again, at the same time of day as i did a few days ago and the scales say the same thing as the other day give or take a few ounces so not an incorrect reading so i do feel fairly chuffed actually. i don't know what i've done differently of late but obviously something's done it, just need to figure out what and hope to replicate it for further losses!

Stokey · 05/10/2015 22:12

Hilarious Dry... You're so right!

QueenCardi · 05/10/2015 22:17

Grin at dry. Seriously though stokey, step away from them!!
mara sounds great wearing nicer stuff. I enjoy wearing my jeans too much to want to dress up!

mara no consensus was ever reached on a mu date. The trouble is a consensus is never going to be reached so some brave soul just needs to pick a date. I'm pretty much busy most weekends now until Christmas so maybe someone should pick a date for next year.....

VivaVegas · 05/10/2015 22:46

queen were you/are you still looking for a navy sleeved top? Not sure if this is any good Miny Velvet Top

QueenCardi · 05/10/2015 22:52

Ooh that's lovely vegas but I really want long or 3/4 length sleeves but thanks for thinking of me.

QueenCardi · 06/10/2015 13:48

Where is everyone Confused?

lib saw this necklace today and thought of you.

QueenCardi · 06/10/2015 13:51

Wearing my new top today. With jeans of course. But no cardi as its too warm.

BerniceBobsHerHairAgain · 06/10/2015 14:12

Hi QueenC - seeing as it's just us 2 here, remind me are you Natural Igenue or Ingenue Natural? (Don't want to bore everyone else with HOC Grin). It seems strange that we would be the same style personality.

Stokey thought I'd reply on the Woolovers cardigan - it seems quite classic, not oversized / slouchy cut which all the current ones in the shops seem to be, and which might make it look a bit dated? Might be worth a try but I think you have to pay for returns. I wonder if you should size up but then it may just end up looking too big rather than stylishly slouchy.

What about the one Shop (and someone else - Viva?) bought from All Saints? Think there is 20% off atm - code ENJOY.

I also liked the look of this one from M&S - but it might be a bit long?

Larastheme · 06/10/2015 14:26

I think its waynetta, queen Grin, she made everyone disappear,

I love that top,

I was busier than usual last couple of days, but managed to return a j brand jeans I got and was not happy with, and instead got marant wool loose fit trousers, so so comfortable, also did get two skirts, and a shirt Blush, had to walk away as I was considering getting a sweater too!

Was so excited about getting a nutri bullet, the biggest disappointment of my life, Sad, the consistency of the smoothies are just yuck, i thought you can throw anything in it,and it will juice it up, the orange i throw in resembled waitrose Heston christmas pudding Grin , will pass it on to a friend, so back to my old faithful cusinart juicer instead,

I'm wearing marant pelona blouse with sleeves rolled , black loose trousers, and marant trainers, < they will eventually get surgically attached to my feet>

QueenCardi · 06/10/2015 14:27

Ingenue natural bernice. Apparently I'm 50:50 with both styles but am a natural with ingenue traits. My friend is the same but she's much more natural than me and doesn't do the same level of girliness that I do. I guess there's also different interpretations of a style. Aren't lib and blair the same? Yet they're very different in some ways. Did your consultant get back to you?
