Ahhhhh, the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness...if for you that means the joy of cosy jumpers, retrieving your favourite coats and jackets from the back of the wardrobe and an excuse to buy new boots then this is the place for you Smile. Come chat about clothes, make up and accessories, budgets from Primark to Prada. Lurkers, newbies and old hands all welcome.

Hope your head is ok today liberty. Tried the burgundy merino with camel skirt and brown knee boots last night, looks great , just need it to get colder!

Happy with outfit today Smile

QueenofCardigans · 10/09/2015 07:09

Morning. How's the head lib?
dry not pathetic at all. We all use our vlothes to help with our confidence.
kitty I was a bobbi brown girl and had samples of both bb and lm tinted moisturiser and the lm just edged it.

shopafrolic · 10/09/2015 07:51

Lib more Ines de la F stuff launching on Uniqlo today at 9am x

QueenofCardigans · 10/09/2015 07:56

shop lavender has reminded me that whenever ive been post op or post childbirth ive bathed in lavender oil baths. It's really soothing and meant to help with healing if youre allowed baths? Also arnica tablets are good to help reduce bruising.

AmberNectarine · 10/09/2015 07:58

I have the LM and while I like it I find it's not great for my skin so I use BB

HappyGirlNow · 10/09/2015 08:31

mara I have that Lanvin in black - love it Grin

I also have the Lanvin mini sugar in black which is great for evening..

cressetmama · 10/09/2015 09:17

Uniqlo site is not accepting orders at present; by the time it does, I bet my replacement navy sweater is sold out in my size! Trying again!

BerniceBobsHerHairAgain · 10/09/2015 10:12

Hello

It is very cold here - I thought the weather was supposed to be warming up again? Hmm. Anyway I am enjoying wearing my cosy knits and trainers again (not doing boots yet Grin)

Shop when is the op? Sending good vibes your way.

Mara what a shame about your boots - your DH was so close! Annoying the SAs wouldn't open up as it was a guaranteed sale - which they knew presumably?

Lib how are you feeling??

Dry is your new role in a different field? Love the colour of the gap merino.

Marsha it totally passed me by you were flying yesterday! New job sounds exciting.

Oh Linus I saw you had pinned some shoes similar to these at h&m - if you want to dip your toe first before committing.

Viva I have quite a small wardrobe I think (though I still add too much to it) - I don't pack stuff away apart from the really high summer stuff. I find that British weather can be so random that you may need jumper in May and sandals in March for example!

libertydoddle · 10/09/2015 10:27

I am not too bad she says tentatively easing myself into the day with a late start and a flat white.

I'm hoping to pop into Uniqlo today and see if they have any Ines stuff.

Bernice I think it's 20 degrees here later, was hard to decide what to wear. Went for Marant coatiigan (naff word even iPhone won't let me write it without extra i) from last year. Bit warm in the end.

Lib big whoop on good meeting and celebration Thanks [fizz]

Mara and Happy gorgeous Lanvin

Big boot boxes here these Marants and

MarshaBrady · 10/09/2015 10:50

Choos might be too pale. Really want to try them on, wondering if I should do it here - not great, no mirror so will have to take home which is a bit of a faff, as so big.

Where do you get stuff delivered if you work?

QueenofCardigans · 10/09/2015 11:08

Ooh exciting marsha. Let's hope one of them are keepers.
viva I missed your bit about packing stuff away. I put away my summer stuff (and winter when vice versa) in another cupboard. It's easily accessible shoukd I need it. I've packed away all the short sleeve stuff as in autumn/spring I like my 3/4 length sleeve blouses.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 10/09/2015 11:20

Hi all

Kitty I downloaded the Podcasts app, then I use it to listen to the NHS couch to 5k podcasts while running. The music isn't great but the narrator is very encouraging, which I need!

Marsha I get everything delivered to my work and am lucky they don't mind - but I do drive. Could you leave the boxes there for now and take the boots home to try in their dust bags inside a strong carrier bag or le pliage or similar?

Lib hope you're feeling better! Congrats on the good meeting and fingers crossed for Uniqlo.

shop thinking of you.

My doctor recommended me NARS tinted moisturiser last night.

sweetmelody · 10/09/2015 11:43

I've not posted on this thread before but, Drywhitethanks do you mind telling me where your camel skirt is from?

BerniceBobsHerHairAgain · 10/09/2015 11:45

Great shoes Marsha - I prefer the Marants, purely for practical reasons boring

Forgot to add - cycling is a good compromise between public transport and walking. In London you can usually find a quiet route to take (a necessity imo) and you don't get as sweaty as with running.

Stokey your book ideas sound interesting. I like reading historial stuff - fact and fiction.

safetyzone · 10/09/2015 13:25

Hi everyone!

Just took my Zara skirt for alteration, and it cost more than the skirt... the joy of being short! I did go to the specialist tailor rather than my local dry cleaners, so that explains the high cost.

Blair Re. tinted moisturiser, I really rate the Nars one.

Bernice yy to cycling. I've been cycle commuting for years now, mine's only short though (3 miles). I wear relatively normal clothes on it.

KittyHello · 10/09/2015 13:35

Viva after doing a massive wardrobe clear out I now have a half empty wardrobe which I'm delighted with. I can see what's in there not much

Marsha I like both boots, the IMs are a more practical colour but I like the style of the Choos.

Lib well done on the successful meeting, glad you're not suffering too much today.

Well in my quest for more accessories I ordered this White Company grey cuff hope it's not too big for my wrist.

Kondo ing my house at the moment, the local charity shop loves me. I'm a bit obsessed atm with having less stuff, she says as I order more scarves/jewellery/bags etc Wink

shopafrolic · 10/09/2015 18:02

Welcome Sweetmelody - didn't want to leave you hanging. Am sure Dry will be along soon with the answer :)
Thanks for all the well wishes. Countdown is on. I am cleaning like a nutter (almost like being pregnant again!). Will need lots of chat and fun next week. x
Kittyhello I loved the Kondo book - picked and chose what I followed but definitely encourages me to have less stuff around. What are you going to add to your wardrobe gaps?
One of my lovely girlfriends has lent me a whole load of new CDs to listen too - love having new sounds and trying other people's recommendations. Jessie Ware, George Ezra, Nitin Sawhney, James Bay, Gregory Porter, Laura Mvula - am looking forward to having the chance to listen to it (good distraction)

shopafrolic · 10/09/2015 18:03

Wore my Crisi boots today and thought of you Marsha - looking forward to hearing your decision

MarshaBrady · 10/09/2015 19:36

Lugged them both all the way home, no way was I trying on in the scuzzy work loo. Just got to do bedtime then will try on here.

shopafrolic · 10/09/2015 20:20

Watching Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorfs again while DH is out. Love Linda Fargo.
Any boot news Marsha?

MarshaBrady · 10/09/2015 20:25

Hey yes! Marants are fab. Great olivey colour. I know dh will make a comment about the inside wedge but I love the extra height but still so comfy. So far I think perfect winter boot. Farfetch packaging is really nice too.

Colour is more olive than pic, light is really yellow.

MN Vogue Vol. 63
shopafrolic · 10/09/2015 20:30

Love those. Knew they'd be good for you.

MarshaBrady · 10/09/2015 20:33

And Choos oh dear like those too! Will need to ponder.

MN Vogue Vol. 63
KittyHello · 10/09/2015 20:33

Shop we'll keep you entertained with lots of chatting. I'd love to find the perfect skirt for going out, but I don't know what I want. Skirts are normally too long on me and I find it really hard to shop for them, I think that's why I live in trousers/jeans.

I'd like a pair of Jimmies you all talk about, may try some on in Selfridges, but where's good to buy them from, i.e. cheaper.

Waiting for an update from Marsha re boots, which will it be?
