Hello! Great links, and purchases,

Love the glasses shop,

I love poetry too! I took an English poetry class in school, and enjoyed analysing them, I seriously was thinking about learning Russian so I could read Pushkin's Eugene onegin. Many people have told me that the English doesn't give the work any justice, I can't imagine it being any better, its perfection!

I managed a few hours of peaceful shopping, did get the marant black trainers! And saw some lovely things at vanessa Bruno, but didnt buy anything,
this beautiful VB sweater love, love it, but I fear the sweater sleeves are huge for coats or jackets

Saw this and its beyond gorgous, kept stroking the feathers Grin

Then at marant Had really high hopes for this sweater, but was shocked at how scratchy it felt! Major disappointment , also the navy sweater, that looks like something Sheldon copper would wear, didnt feel that wow either,
And oh!the tribal coats are so so heavy, gorgous but heavy! It felt like wearing an armour, but all the blouses were absolutely gorgous, and it would be impossible to decide to pick one, felt like I should get them all! So walked away, before doing any irreversible damage,

And that's concludes my RL shopping trip,

QueenofCardigans · 09/09/2015 15:42

Grr, I'm sure gap have changed their sizes or shapes of jeans. I know I'm 4lb over my usual weight but the real straight are tiny and don't seem to fit like they usually do.

I'd be stroking the feathers on that too lara

Hellokitty105 · 09/09/2015 16:14

Posting here for foundation help! I'm going out tomorrow night and could do with an amazing foundation! I have horrible spotty skin at the min but it can also be dry in places but i need good coverage! I can get to a boots before I go out, any recommendations?

shopafrolic · 09/09/2015 16:31

Lovely links Laras - so many with the IM trainers now, I am jealous.
Hellokitty I didn't want to ignore your post but can't really help. I use Bare Minerals as I don't like a lot of coverage so that won't really help you.
In the past I have really rated Chanel foundations and they do a range of types dependent on the coverage you are after.

Drywhitethanks · 09/09/2015 16:41

HelloK Lanc??me Teint Idole, great coverage , matte finish..... Loved it until I got a few lines which it just sat in and made me look really wrinkly Sad..... Now I use a lighter one from No7 which makes me look 27 wishes Grin

Ok, ladies. Don't know why this is happening, have always loved my work wardrobe and felt chic in it, but somehow I feel all wrong Hmm.
I need help finding the impossible: a black work shoe that isn't completely flat, mid heel and still looks chic. To wear with opaques, trousers etc.any ideas?

shopafrolic · 09/09/2015 17:09

Saw these and thought of Linus

shopafrolic · 09/09/2015 19:18

Mid heel boot
Can't link but the Jigsaw Milly shoe (I have in red) is a great height - super comfortable
Hobbs Lizzie court also looks good

MarshaBrady · 09/09/2015 19:40

Evening!

Will have a look Dry

Back in the UK and haven't eaten since eggs at 4.30am and had a g&t on the plane. Feel a bit sozzled, luckily they book cars in advance. Meeting was good aren't the Dutch tall and good looking

I expect to find two packages with IM boots and Choos tomorrow, realised they will be big boxes and I'll have to get them home somehow.

MarshaBrady · 09/09/2015 19:43

Lara love the links, the Marant tribal in particular.

Shop how are the new glasses? Or still waiting to be made

LinusLovesBretons · 09/09/2015 19:50

Evening!

Love that scarf queenc!

Thanks shop will have a look at those sneakers in store.

hellokitty I'm no foundation expert but I've read Est??e Lauder Double Wear has great coverage. I use Chanel Vitalumi??re Aqua as I don't like too much coverage.

lara great shopping and links as usual. I have found Marant jackets and knitwear to be scratchy in general but maybe I'm too sensitive.

Anyone watching the GBBO tonight? Why of why do they broadcast it on one of my fast days? It's torture.

QueenofCardigans · 09/09/2015 21:25

kitty can't help as I only wear tinted moisturiser sometimes and that's laura mercier which I don't think boots do. You could try no7 as they'll colour match you?
dry shame you feel like that about your work wardrobe? Do people at the new place dress differently? Presumably doing what you do you need comfort so have you looked at clarks?

QueenofCardigans · 09/09/2015 21:29

Actually I just looked at clarks and nothing really stood out at me for you.

shopafrolic · 09/09/2015 21:44

Glasses will arrive after my Op Marsha annoying - want them now.
Ordered White Co joggers today with mara's code Thanks also a lavender candle to recuperate with. Getting anxious now.....
Wore new Zara shirt today with GAP skinnies and Pistols. Old cream Zatchel to see kitchen company. ?????? for a new kitchen. Scary stuff.
How was Rotterdam Marsha? Did you drive past the cube block houses??

shopafrolic · 09/09/2015 21:45

cube houses

MarshaBrady · 09/09/2015 22:08

Shop it was fab. Really nice people, interesting meeting. No cube houses though, didn't see much. Funny to be surrounded by suit-y men people on the flights.

Op stuff sounds nice x

Drywhitethanks · 09/09/2015 22:26

Shop I love the Lizxie, Millie and the boots but they'd be lethal in my workplace.
Think perhaps I need a suede wedge court

Drywhitethanks · 09/09/2015 22:28

perhaps these not exciting but look nice.

KittyHello · 09/09/2015 22:28

This is going to be confusing, it wasn't me asking about the foundation Grin

Thanks for the mascara recommendations, will check them out.

Have missed loads, am catching up on loads of chores that I've been putting off for the last 6 weeks.

Dry & Mara glad you are enjoying your new jobs.

Some black shoe/boots for Dry

another shoe boots M & S

or these Next ones

Have thrown 3 bin liners of clothes/shoes away, there were lots of shoes mistakes in there Blush hopefully a lot less mistakes in future.

This a/w I think I'm after accessories more than shoes/clothes although if I see the perfect trainers I will buy them. Am in town at the weekend so will have a browse.

QueenC do you rate LM tinted moisturiser? I was going to go straight for Bobbi Brown but am willing to try another brand.

KittyHello · 09/09/2015 22:30

Flipping' 'neck Marsha not Mara doh, it's past my bedtime. No more lie ins for me.

maradesbois · 09/09/2015 22:33

Evening,

Nice one Shop re white co and big hug. Lavender is always so soothing.

Glad you had a good trip Marsha. Look forward to hearing how you get on with new boots.

Linus guess your 5:2 'progress' has slowed right down as you are already very slim. Have always been impressed with how easy you find it.

Topaz big congratulations on your move! Loved hearing all about it at our last mini mu. Plenty to keep you busy there.

Dry yes, why do you feel differently about your work clothes at new place. Agree with QueenC you need shoes that are both elegant and comfortable but don't have any helpful suggestions am afraid. Would suggest brogues but maybe not you?

Lara snap, I saw that Marant jumper in Liberty today and thought exactly the same, material made to make you itch. Tried this cardigan coat which is on my wish list and it's fab.

Am still thinking about a new bag for when I start my course, big enough to carry laptop but just the really thin Apple one so doesn't need to be huge. Really loved this Lanvin shopper but have plenty of totes so couldn't justify it.

Also really loved this Lanvin Sugar irl.

Sent dh on a wild goose chase round the Marant boutiques of Paris between meetings on a work trip trying to get the boots i'm after. He's fuming but didn't go where I told him, instead went to printemps concession who didn't have them but called victor Hugo store for him who did. He jumped in a cab (after 7 when shop shuts at 7.30) got stuck in traffic and shop was closed when he got there, sa were tidying up and wouldn't let him in quelle surprise! Now he's muttering about bad service, not his fault, doesn't get all the fuss about Marant anyway, the boots are a rip off in gbp so I shouldn't buy them in London etc etc. Grr. Have learnt my lesson, will never involve him in such important Wink fashion matters again!

Drywhitethanks · 09/09/2015 22:34

theses also look nice depends on heel height.

QueenC collegues don't really dress differently, I guess when I'm in a. New situation and a bit apprehensive if my wardrobe doesn't feel right it bothers me, pathetic I know, when I feel I have an outfit spot on then I feel confident. Today I wore a new skirt which felt wrong, needs 2" off the length. I also have less time in the morning and getting dressed in a rush is tricky, need to plan the night before. Weather isn't helping either.

maradesbois · 09/09/2015 22:37

Kitty I thought foundation was you! Am very unadventurous with makeup it's really not my thing but never veer away from bobbi brown except for mascara. Which mascara did you go for, missed it.

KittyHello · 09/09/2015 23:06

Mara i love that Lanvin Sugar. Re; weight loss I've had a lot of success with MFP. I've tried 5:2 in the past and did okay but MFP is the one that works for me. In fact I want to lose a few more pounds so am back on properly again.

Am going on Saturday to buy some make-up, may bump into Dry I'll be in comfy clothes as I'll be pounding the streets. Want to try the BR Sloan trousers but am still a bit put off by them needing to be dry cleaned Hmm May go for Lancome or Chanel mascara, but that Kiko seems worth a try too.

Blair do you use a running app? Pm me if you don't want to say which one here, I'm a the early stages of running too. Have been back on it this week. Am aiming to go three time a week.

libertydoddle · 10/09/2015 00:15

Oh dear me. Am drunk. Big, big meeting today went MUCH better than expected so decided a glass of vino or five was in order and no food since lunchtime fool.

I love LM tinted foundation. Get good coverage when I apply over primer with a brush. I had Boots No 7 in past and also liked that but colour match is dodgy. I needed to go up a shade from the match colour.

OOTD was Acne black pencil skirt with Gap camel fine knit merino sweater, Hobbs black suede courts and trench coat. Felt good. Am crediting good outfit with the good meeting!

OK. Need to sleep. Mwah to all.

Dipping in and out as per usual, too much on the go and not enough time!
I love LM tinted moisturiser but am currently using a more thrifty Boots one which is very good and a LM foundation for days I need more coverage, that's really nice too.
I run a lot, am doing a half marathon in a few weeks so that's one of my current time takers fitting in some longer runs to get ready.
Have started to sort my wardrobe, can only devote short bursts of time to it so have started on coats and jackets. So far so good. Also going to get some shoe racks for my wardrobes so they are tidier and can fit more in so I don't have to pack seasonal ones away. I'd actually like to have a smaller/better wardrobes content so everything can stay in there and I don't have to pack stuff away. Does anyone manage that?
