No Spend on S&B during June - Anyone In?

Is anyone up for not spending money on unnecessary S&B items for the month of June?

My finances are not in good order Sad. I did a 'no spend' couple of months with other MNetters (online and lurking) last year. It was bliss to get a credit card bill afterwards with an almost zero balance. I felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders (albeit temporarily)!

I have enough of everything - hair dye, moisturiser, clothes (if I shifted a few pounds), etc. Any other spending would just be on frivolous crap if I were to continue as I have been doing!

Roll on 1st June, I am tightening the purse strings and hiding my credit card! Come and join the fun ConfusedGrin

I think just participating in this month, whether you have succeeded or not, is great, as you have probably thought more about how you are using your money and learned something. I agree that a no-buy is often not realistic.

I'm still on board! This has been a good month for me, I have been able to focus on using up products and enjoying stuff that I love. I have found a couple of gems in my existing wardrobe and also managed to do a massive clearout. And just one small cosmetics purchase, no clothes or shoes or accessories this month.

I'll definitely do a low-buy July. My aim is to buy as little as possible. Ideally I'd say 0€ and on some level that is my goal. But being realistic, I might replace my Bioderma and perhaps buy a properly sweatproof eye pencil. One Korean goodie order (probably a bundle of sheet masks or a serum) allowed. No clothes or shoes. If I see a black leather clutch that I like, I might buy one, but trying to avoid shopping and sales as much as possible.

The shoes I brought were to replace all the shoes I can't wear anymore as my feet grew in pregnancy. So two ballet flats, two pairs of heels and some strappy sandals. That's all I need.

No clothes were purchased! Pleased about that.

And only toiletries purchased was some deodorant and moisturiser - which I would class as essential!

Nearly caved on a pair of jeans in GAP's sale but resisted. I will continue to restrain myself in July too I think. Does anyone want a July thread or shall we continue with this one?

Itsalldramarama · 30/06/2015 16:06

How about a new one for low spend July essentials only ?

FrugalFashionista · 30/06/2015 16:20

Let's start a new thread for July!

FrugalFashionista · 30/06/2015 19:12

I set up a new thread here.

I'm coming over Frugal, thanks Grin

Well folks, I caved on the very last day! A new black eyeliner in the pharmacy when I was in buying teething drugs for dd.

I've enjoyed this month and am amazed at how easy i found it, but two things helped: not having any spare cash, and having good supplies of the basics already in. Will need to replenish in July.

See you on the other side for a low-spend...
