Its not too bad main roads are clear getting off our estate is always fun as we are in a dip and either route out means going up hills. When it snowed bad last time the closed one of the hills and the kids all sledged down it

LinusDKD · 30/01/2015 08:01

Morning!

amber go back and get that Chanel jacket for dry! Once you're not hungover anymore of course. Brew Wink

Great copy of that Boodles ring what.

one I hope you managed to sleep a bit.

muddling you can always come on MNV to have a chat when your DH is traveling. I know I do! Wink

ujjayi oh how I wish I could draw and sketch, very Envy of that talent. But I haven't got a creative bone in my body.

shopafrolic · 30/01/2015 08:17

Marks place for later - Flowers Lib

Ujjayi · 30/01/2015 09:29

Amber hope the hangover is either non-existent or at least passes quickly!

Muddling quite jealous of your snow. We have had nothing more than snow showers which haven't settled at all. Your DH's work opportunity must be great for him but I understand how that might leave you feeling rather daunted by it.

Linus - I didn't realise I was remotely arty until a few years ago. It is so relaxing too so I thoroughly recommend giving it a go.

Still not sure what to do about the Topshop cardigan I bought. Just not convinced I will get any wear out of it. Too chunky for under a coat and probably too warm once it becomes "spring coat" weather. Or, as it is apparently a coveted item...perhaps eBay for the full price and buy something that I'm totally in love with? I'm never sure about doing things like this though - always feel like I should give people a bargain!

AmberNectarine · 30/01/2015 09:33

It's not the dream, I won't lie. DD and I are having some quiet time under a blanket on the sofa :)

QueenCardigan · 30/01/2015 09:35

ujjayi if that was grey I'd snap it out of your hands now! That's exactly the sort of cardi I'd like for spring.
amber £65 for a Chanel jacket? Go buy it now!

Ujjayi · 30/01/2015 09:41

Just a quick thought on the Chanel jacket...if half sleeve is a bit too Tory wife...you could give it an edgier vibe by wearing over the top of a long sleeve knit like this or this . I love this look but not sure how many norms could rock it, tbh!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 30/01/2015 10:04

Wow love those pins Ujjayi.

One hope the night wasn't too bad for you.

novice yay for having holiday booked. DP needs to book our honeymoon still! If we go anywhere... Hmm

A weird thing happened to me yesterday. I was walking to the post office to return this skirt when I suddenly had a complete change of heart. I had thought it wasn't quite right, but I took it back home and tried it with loads of stuff and I think I'm going to keep it! I've never done that before.

LinusDKD · 30/01/2015 10:13

dry your parcel is on its way!

lib I need to find a postcard to hide the money in yes I know I shouldn't send money in the mail but I'll cleverly disguise it and then I'll post yours as well.

OneLittleLady · 30/01/2015 10:45

thanks blair I finally got to sleep around 5am and was up again at 9am so haven't had much sleep but the pain seems to have calmed a little though I'm still in a lot of pain

Wearing a navy skater dress today and red cashmere cardigan. I don't wear much navy, I think it's because my Dsis wears it a lot and we already look quite alike and she gets a bit worked up about people mistaking her for me so I tend to swerve navy and stick with black for the most part

libertychick · 30/01/2015 10:51

Yes great pins Ujjayi. And if you are not sure about the cardi do sell it. It's the type of thing if I based in the same office all the time that I would keep at work. Good for popping on to look smart, extra warmth etc. or else turn the heating down in your house Smile

That is funny about the skirt blair. It does look versatile.

[[http://www.pinterest.com/pin/321937073338492209/ Goat cardigan]] has arrived. So lovely, great fit, neat around the shoulders but relaxed. DH nearly fainted when I told him the price Grin and refused to believe the pre sale price until I showed it to him. He is in a bit of shock!

I love navy and red together One.

I am feeling like a little child again!

I bought some 'homemade' rice pudding in the supermarket today, sprinkled some dark brown sugar on top and started eating it and I am transported back to my childhood. Grin

DH, who's working from home today, is looking at me in disgust as he hates ricepudding.

Yum!

libertychick · 30/01/2015 10:58

Linus one of my friends when she is feeling poorly or down makes herself a big dish of rice pudding and eats in in bed Grin.

My childhood comfort treat is bananas with hot custard, so delicious.

Ew at both those things! Wink Mine would have to be soft boiled eggs with soldiers (but with the whites just set). the way my mum does them and I can never replicate!

Glad the cardigan is lovely Lib :)

OneLittleLady · 30/01/2015 11:26

I LOVE rice pudding. while i was off school with agoraphobia, I used to eat it every day, sometimes cold out of the tin, sometimes hot. Immediately transports me back to being 14 again

Lovely cardi lib

Looking into pain clinics in the london area to see where i'd be best asking to referred to. there's a lot of options it seems. The pain clinic i'm at now are worse than useless, they've promised me so much and delivered none of it. last thing they said is I'd get a SCS but i haven't even heard from them for a follow up appointment nevermind getting date for the surgery or anything. I need to go somewhere else now as they just aren't helping me. My Gp is doing and has done more to help me than they have and he isn't a pain specialist!

libertychick · 30/01/2015 13:54

So as I may have mentioned once or twice I aspire to owning IM Bobby trainers. But I don't have £380 to spare Sad and I'm not sure psychologically I could spend that much on trainers

Today I remembered that Clarks orginals do a wedge desert boot that I thought might serve as a substitute, couldn't find them on the Clarks site so went to MrsR's pinboard as I was sure she had them. She does! Clicked to the site via her pin and found the Yarra boot reduced from £99 to £39 - result!!!

I opted for free delivery so they may not arrive until next Thursday. I have high hopes for these Smile

And I got the last pair in my size Woop!

Ujjayi · 30/01/2015 14:16

Liberty - my DH would have the same reaction over a cardigan. He really dislikes cardigans. I had a wonderful collection when we first met which has dwindled to just a couple now - perhaps that's why I can't decide on the Topshop cardigan! Love the IM Bobby trainers. What shoe size are you? We have a small store in our village which sells IM (amongst other labels) and they had quite a few pairs of IM trainers in their sale (I think around £100). I can take a look for you tomorrow morning if you'd like?

Blair well done for recognising a keeper! I'm terrible for holding on to stuff in case I find something else to go with it. That's one habit I'm hoping to break this year.

My childhood comfort food is apple crumble & custard. Just thinking about it makes me feel all warm & cosy.

One definitely pursue the pain clinic. Have you tried searching for academic or medical institutions currently conducting research into your condition? That may be a good tack to find more current methods of helping you.

Fedup sorry - forgot to answer your dance question. I was a dancer (theatre & commercial work) but not classical ballet. Sadly I lacked the confidence to go for auditions for ballet school when I was 16 even though that was really my big love.

Taking a break from wedding dress details (client, not mine!) to go have some lunch & think about what to wear for dinner with DH this evening. I realised this morning that this time last year we were in Venice. Cue a big sigh of happy memories & longing before reality hit and I had to de-ice the car and take the DCs to school!

libertychick · 30/01/2015 14:53

Ujjayi I am size 39 (UK 5.5 or 6). If you could look for me that would be fantastic!

Pleasure, Lib Wink

shopafrolic · 30/01/2015 16:01

Ujjayi does the store ever get Crisi boots? If they do could I ask you to let me know? I am after some in black or grey. No problems if a hassle x

LinusDKD · 30/01/2015 16:47

Snow!!!! And this time it might actually stay for a bit.

libertychick · 30/01/2015 17:11

It's the weekend yay!

I met with the tailor today and it felt good getting pinned into things - this is definitely going to be a focus this year, making sure that when I buy quality items they fit perfectly. I'm coming to terms with the fact that I will never find a pair of trousers that fits me off the peg, so am going to start building the cost of adjustments into new purchases.

If only I had Ujjayi's skills! :)

Like the boots lib, they're similar enough yet different enough to wedge trainers that you could have both.
