I am exhausted, insomnia is really taking its toll on me. it's a bit of a pickle as I'm loathe to take and doctor is loathe to precribe sleeping pills/sedatives. Hopefully it will pass soon. I'm just sleeping whenever I can, even if it's only for a few hours at a time. No energy drinks here though, can't stand them, I'm running on tea, coffee and willpower!

Wearing today a pink with navy trim leopard print knitted skirt and a sheer sleeveless blouse with swallows on the collar. Was complimented on my outer wear today which was purple polka dot black wool hobbs coat, two tone purple wool DKNY scarf and my purple wool cloche hat. That's after my sister told me I looked like I'd stepped out of the 70's or something Grin

santamarianovella · 11/02/2015 19:18

marsha :christy turlington, Stephanie Seymour,

Did anyone read the article about sam taylor Johnson in vanity fair? I didn't know that much about her before tbh but now I really have so much admiration for her. good article about the MET vs MOMA too in there, heard about it here from someone and was intrigued , but Why oh why are publications trying to make pippa Middleton happen? Please make it stop!
Vanity fair is one of the few magazines I read, and now its like the daily mail Sad, with a few good articles.

Fedupnagging · 11/02/2015 19:34

Have been pondering your question Marsha and I would probably say Linda Evangelista here. Although, the only models I know are the 80's supermodels!

Mara how did I miss you are going to Paris. Have a lovely time. White bags I always find get grubby quickly!

One insomnia is the pits. You have my sympathies. Hope it passes soon.

sleepwhenidie · 11/02/2015 19:38

Hey One well done on the presentation Flowers - sorry to hear about the insomnia. Check with your doctor if magnesium supplement would be ok for you (if not tried/considered already) Smile

Helena the model for me too - so very cool and Scandinavian, even now Envy. I think Tyra Banks was/is incredible too.

I am still on a spending ban, though I have been tempted by some A Wang on the Outnet today . I am feeling bored with my wardrobe, I still love most of it but its a bit tired and I feel like I could do with an image shake up!

OneLittleLady · 11/02/2015 19:41

I'll ask him when I'm next in Sleep and thank you Smile

bettykt · 11/02/2015 19:46

Great question Marsha yes Linda Evangelista for sure, loved her chameleon phase and Christy Turlington too. Used to love the George Michael, Freedom video, so cool.

I'm on a no spend atm, and don't intend on buying anything for a while, I'm still on my less is more phase and trying to get away with wearing just what I have, am getting great cpw from everything. Grin I'm sure when the nice weather breaks through I'll feel a bit more inspired.

Flowers QueenC hope the wine does the trick

Flowers Shop hope your df is okay

santamarianovella · 11/02/2015 19:48

sleep I'm on ban too,and as its feb, I'm so bored with my clothes too, but even If i buy somthing now, I won't be able to wear it for a mother or so,

QueenCardigan · 11/02/2015 19:49

Mmm, Sauvignon blanc. Cheers Wine. Just hoping that dh gets home soon otherwise I'll be pissed by time he is!

mara when do you go to Paris?

sleepwhenidie · 11/02/2015 20:06

Oh that sounds good Queen, I have cut right back on wine, only two nights a week since new year and I'm sleeping better, skin is clearer and I'm feeling slimmer - it's very annoying Hmm

sleepwhenidie · 11/02/2015 20:07

Why a month to wait Santa?

santamarianovella · 11/02/2015 20:38

It's still so so cold here, sleep, its pointless to shop, and all the shops are full of SS clothes, I don't want to buy anything and just let it hang in my closet, did this mistake last year, bought a marant jacket in January to cheer me up,and didnt wear it till April,

Drywhiteplease · 11/02/2015 20:44

Mara Place des Vogues (I think) for this I went to a friend's house and the smell was divine. ££ but worth it. Would love the diffuser.
Ugg funnily enough the Next version were really comfy but the quality was not as good and they died after a few months which is why I bought the Boden. They are cut differently and kill.

shopafrolic · 11/02/2015 20:51

No news on DF yet.
Models for me Linda Evangelista when she had short hair. Erin O'Connor. There must be lots more. Brain is fried.
No real fashion news. DS and I have both got colds, he has conjunctivitis so has been off school today.

Drywhiteplease · 11/02/2015 21:00

I was going to say Linda E too, love how she changed her look and had strong hair cut.

One I hope all the tea and coffee is decaf.....why don't you drink herbal tea? Also, lots of little naps won't help because you won't be tired at night time. Also switch off the computer and all electronics an hour before bedtime, there's something in the light that over stimulates the brain or something.

MarshaBrady · 11/02/2015 21:23

Yes out of the 90s I'm going to say Helena C and Linda E.

libertychick · 11/02/2015 21:23

Hugs for you shop. Poor DS conjunctivitis is miserable.

Funny how we are all opting for 90's models. No fans for Cara D here!

I did a big Pure Collection order today as they have lots of skirts in autumn colours. Will link when they arrive. Also bought some navy chinos in Monsoon yesterday and I am really pleased with them.

sleep I rarely drink midweek except the occasional Wednesday with dh or if I'm out with friends. It's annoying as I was planning on being healthy this week as I've got into bad habits with food/booze over the last month but sometimes the need for wine and a meal with dh takes over.

I think models aren't so popular nowadays as magazines/cosmetic companies etc use a lot of actresses/celebs instead of models. I think that's why we probably don't know any of the recent names.

sleepwhenidie · 11/02/2015 21:54

Well I'm joining you Queen, I was planning on a particularly abstemious week in advance if skiing holiday which definitely won't be (23 of us going!) But as you say, sometimes you just want to relax with dinner and a glass of something delicious Smile

santamarianovella · 11/02/2015 21:59

shop hope you and your Ds feel better,

queen yes you are right we see a lot of actresses on magazine covers and ad campaign instead of models, but I think also because we looked up to them at that time, and wanted to be them, I remember I was maybe 10 or 11 when I fully understood the whole supermodel thing, and admired how they looked and dressed, I remember seeing pics of claudia Schiffer ,think back in 94 , wearing a chanel cropped cardi, I really loved that cardi! I'm not a huge fan of claudia but I think she was and still is one of the best dressed models, and still looks fab
Plus all the 90s models had amazing bodies and very striking features, models these days all look generic

libertychick · 11/02/2015 22:08

Just watching Charlotte Rampling on Sky Arts. Looks amazing. And talking about the fact that she hasn't had anything done and laughing about the fact that her eyes are going to end up closed with hooding.

And she has lots of bread and wine on the table. Love her!

Dry i only have caffeine up til lunchtime and then switch to decaf and herbal teas the rest of the day/night, I don't drink things like energy drinks or lucozade at all as I don't like them. A little caffeine first thing is just about my only vice these days, i'm so rock n roll! Grin I didn't mean naps as such, more that i sleep when i can at night, even if it's only for a few hours and then im up again

Drywhiteplease · 11/02/2015 22:44

fedup I think I've matched your loud blubbing at films....DH just come upstairs to find me sobbing loudly Sad Sad Grin

libertychick · 12/02/2015 07:21

Ah dry! What made you cry?

Earlier start than usual for me, yawning on the train. Have a gap in the morning so hoping to fit in a quick trip to Regent St Smile
