New thread for a new month! Everyone is doing so well, we are forming some great habits and, hopefully, feeling better for it.

some good links:

How To Be Groomed thread

Discount Make-up and Toiletries
Cheap Smells
Fragrance Direct
Xtras Online
Look Fantastic

Its also worth joining groups like wowcher and Groupon for discount manicures etc.

Baby steps are the way forward, and if you fall off the wagon and have a pj day (or week) its ok, just jump back on. We want to take more pride in our appearance, make an effort. As one poster said, "we think there's no point making an effort if we are just at home with our DP's and DC's, but they are the most important people in our lives - why not act like it?" I certainly feel better, my self-esteem is higher and I have more confidence.

All welcome.

Happy Fabulizing Dahhlinks

I have kept the boots, in fact I am wearing them right now Grin

We went out for lunch instead of dinner in the end as two colleagues couldn't make it tonight and it is so cold that we weren't really in the mood. We went to a lovely new deli and I am absolutely STUFFED.

Today's outfit: indigo skinnies, navy and white breton top, light denim shirt with sleeves rolled up and top buttons undone to see the top underneath, tan plaited belt, tan wedge ankle boots.

Debenhams order came and the cardies are a bit meh, so will be going back. At least I am keeping the courier in business as he can pick up the Next tops that are going back at the same time.

Hope you are all having a lovely day!

JemimaMuddledUp · 27/03/2013 13:43

Hurrah, the school term is over! Seems a bit daft breaking up for Easter in the snow though.

Today I am wearing straight leg jeans, charcoal breton, black longline cardi and converse high tops.

TrampyPanterNoster · 27/03/2013 15:52

Jemima, I'm so glad you kept them Grin the snow is really bizarre, isn't it? Do you have any plans for the holidays? Did you have a nice time?

I've been on the hunt for a scarf with a map print on it, I saw one in Warehouse that I loved but I'm a real skinflint and didnt want to spend £22 + delivery on a scarf. so I found one on ebay and won it for £4.99 delivered, I'm so pleased!

I'm going up for a really hot bath in a minute, I am so sick of this cold, wet weather.

cjbk1 · 27/03/2013 18:53

well today iv have mostly been wearing pyjamas +clothes +dressing gown and a blanket on top of the duvet and holding a hot water bottle coz I got dd1's bug! ShockI feel terrible I hope it doesn't reach wherever you all live x

JemimaMuddledUp · 27/03/2013 20:09

Hope you feel better soon cjbk1.

I am hoping that it doesn't snow too much more overnight as the rescheduled Eisteddfod is tomorrow. Which unfortunately means no lie in for the first day of the holidays Sad However as DS1 is going down earlier with the choir on a bus and DS2 and DD are going to my DM's house for the day I have booked an appointment for an eyebrow shape first. Got to get my priorities right!

Am trying to decide what to wear tomorrow. I am thinking of wearing my red jeans and would like to wear my tan wedge boots with them, but will it look odd with a black coat? Or should I wear black boots?

TrampyPanterNoster · 27/03/2013 21:31

Oh cj, you poor love! how horrible. I hope you feel better soon.

Jemima, have you had much snow today? weve only had flurries. I would wear the new boots, black might look a bit harsh!

I have been trying on lovely spring clothes today, and dug out a dress that I havent worn for years. I love it. this is it. I want the snow to stop and the sun to come out. enough now!

JemimaMuddledUp · 28/03/2013 07:37

It snowed quite heavily at times yesterday, but wasn't sticking. It doesn't seem to be snowing at all this morning (first morning in a while) but I think they are forecasting more coming in tomorrow.

I have tried both the black boots and the tan boots with the jeans and coat and I'm just not convinced by the tan ones. The black and red contrast is there already between the jeans and the coat so if it is going to look harsh it will do already. Maybe I'll just wear denim jeans instead.

TrampyPanterNoster · 28/03/2013 08:47

Most of the snow has melted here now! Woo hoo. Still icy though. I just love red and tan, so I'm possibly a bit biased Wink have a great day today though, today is our last day of term and dh has taken ds to school (banjanxed myself last night ironing and cleaning and today I can't walk. At all. So fleecy pjs for me) I did do my nails last night though. In essie's http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQboGiw-7nLwHaNwMstTtiE6PXRzhvTLUkkuXduEMI8Pm5y_hx7FE9-vqZ_ size matters (I was feeling retro) and tidied my eyebrows and slapped a deep conditioner on my barnet. My new hairdryer came and is superb, but huge! I've been using a travel one that is the right size for me, this one is as long as my arm!
Have a great day everyone, any plans for easter?

TrampyPanterNoster · 28/03/2013 08:49

size matters seem to have lost the ability to link!

GuyMartinsSideburns · 28/03/2013 09:23

Well after the cricked neck nastiness, yesterday morning I started feeling completely dreadful, migraine on and off and the most awful stomach cramps Ive felt in a long time. I spent the day trying to doze on the sofa (joggers and jumper) whilst the children were awesome and managed to entertain themselves. I havent actually vomited (soz tmi) but Ive been getting waves of nausea and headachey pain. Im hoping another lazy day today will mean Im good tomorrow - Ive said I'll treat everyone to breakfast somewhere and then its dd's birthday on sat so I want to be ready for that.

I feel so terribly guilty that Ive done nothing outdoorsy with the children yet but I couldnt move much at the beginning of the week and now this Sad

Have a great day and a lovely easter everyone xx

JemimaMuddledUp · 28/03/2013 12:40

Wore the tan boots, but I'm still not 100% convinced that they look right with the black coat. So for this afternoon I am changing the coat for a black longline cardi as then I can wear my leopard print scarf which ties in colourwise with the tan boots and somehow works better than with the coat (the coat has a high neckline and so doesn't really work with a scarf).

Guy - sorry to hear you are feeling poorly too Sad

We are going to Cardiff to watch the rugby on Saturday, Scarlets v Dragons and Ospreys v Blues playing back to back. I am a Scarlets fan, DH is a Blues fan. The DC are undecided, but DS1 seems to be following his dad in supporting Blues and DS2 is following me. DD doesn't like rugby and is spending the day with Grandma Grin

TrampyPanterNoster · 29/03/2013 16:24

I am so jealous of your rugby plans! DS and I like rugby. Much to DH's chagrin. He was a semi-pro footballer long ago.

cj, Guy, are you feeling any better? I hope so, its crap being ill, even worse when its a holiday.

I am being lazy today, leggings, long burgundy jumper and slippers. also a make up free day. My joints and ribs especially, have been v bad so I am trying to take it easy. even though I have just had a mass bake.

vanilla and cranberry cupcakes with rose icing
chocolate cupcakes with chocolate icing
a chocolate and cranberry cake with vanilla icing
a fruitcake.

And thats it. I'm done [buwink]

TrampyPanterNoster · 29/03/2013 16:26

oops, I have also ordered this box from Latest in Beauty. I got the estee lauder one the other week, and its brilliant!

cjbk1 · 29/03/2013 18:03

hello yes I'm 75% better now but ds and dh have got it now ffs only to be expected so that just leaves (baby) dd2 to catch it...I'm jealous of the rugby action too i haven't even seen The Allianz yet...it'll be next season now Shock

TrampyPanterNoster · 29/03/2013 18:12

cj, I'm glad you are feeling better, but [busad] that dh and ds have it too. bloody bugs!!

UnsulliedTrampyPants · 31/03/2013 12:54

Happy Easter all!! Hows everyone doing?

Engelsemama · 02/04/2013 19:45

I have been a rubbish fabulizer. I need to get back to basics with grooming again (blow drying hair, moisturizing body and hands, cleansing face properly before bed Blush and wearing nice clothes).

I will do better!

TrampyPants · 02/04/2013 20:15

Engels, just jump back on the wagon! I had a scruffy couple of weeks too, but I shaved my legs and pits, dried and styled my hair and painted my nails last night, and put on make up and got a bit dressed up today. I felt so much better for it. How are you doing?

OP posts:
Engelsemama · 03/04/2013 08:33

I am enjoying being on holiday and today DS is in nursery so am pottering in the garden and enjoying the sunshine (though it's still bloody cold).

Dressed nicely enough for a trip to the garden centre but will be getting changed into old gardening clothes when I get back!

Going for a haircut tomorrow and have finally pulled my trainers back on (did 4.5k last night). Now I just need to stop eating chocolate!

GuyMartinsSideburns · 03/04/2013 09:41

Hi all, feeling better here thank you but this weather is doing my head in. This house is freezing.

Engels well done for going out running, Ive really really let my attempts slip. And the longer I leave it the harder I find it is to go out - I get very self conscious and think Im going to be laughed at Blush

Anyway Ive had a very off the wagon weekend regarding low carbing but Ive enjoyed every single thing Ive eaten Grin and Im back on it today. Got my shred dvd ready to do tonight as I think its more toning up I need to concentrate on, however that dvd is horrible so whether I do it or not I dont know...

Blue levis, purple long sleeved top, grey cardy, huge leopard cardy over the top. Looks awful but my priority today is keeping warm. Hair clean and tied back, makeup on.

TrampyPants · 03/04/2013 18:24

Engels, well done on the run!!

Guy, glad you are feeling better. the weather is dreadful, isn't it? It's at least clear today, but bloody freezing.

Hi - remember me! I haven't been around much as I've been struck down with a horrible virus which has left me feeling really dizzy and sick - not ideal for using the laptop. And this is one of the few days I've actually been dressed in the last few weeks - and I certainly haven't been wearing make up or doing my hair.
I'm on the mend now and starting to get a bit bored of being at home - which means too much online shopping!
I was so excited when I came across this. I didn't buy the original version because I swithered about it for too long and then couldn't get my size. So I have snapped this up even though I haven't actually seen it in real life. Hopefully I'll like it when it arrives - have paid for express delivery because I'm so excited!
I know some of you didn't like the original but I thought it was nice on. Trampy I hope you approve!

Engelsemama · 04/04/2013 20:20

It's still bloody freezing here too guy. I spent yesterday hiding indorrs hugging radiators and wrapped in blankets while watching The Vampire Diaries and eating chocolate

Managed 3k tonight but it was really hard work. I was planning on switching shred back on yesterday but decided to...well, see above!

Am just focusing on the basics right now and managed to get my hair cut for the first time in 6 months today. Just some damage control/ends off but it feels so lovely. Going to pamper myself tomorrow night - feet and face Smile

They have also started a new offer at our supermarket (they do ti every year). You collect stickers for money off entrance to our local spa (10 minutes walk up the road). They have lots of lovely pools inside and out and I had a great massage there when I was pregnant with DS. I have one full card already Grin

AlwaysReadyForABlether · 05/04/2013 19:09

I hope I haven't killed this thread!

The River Island jacket arrived today and I love it. It is lighter than the original version - obviously meant for Spring - and more of a cardigan than a jacket. The colours are really lovely - great for going with denim. Can't wait until I'm properly better and can wear it out and about.

I am trying to make myself feel a bit better by getting a bit of pampering. Have booked a hair appointment for next week for a cut and blow-dry. It's not at my usual place so not going to brave a colour until I know what they're like. My sister is bringing me a home dye kit and I'll do it myself as a temporary measure.

I've also just messaged a nail technician that I've used before to see if she can fit me in next week. I don't really need my nails done but thought it might help perk me up a bit.

I'm really loving Matalan just now - both their clothes and homeware. I've just ordered this and this. I might be a bit old for them but never mind - at that price you can't go wrong.

I really need to get back to work before I bankrupt myself with online shopping!

I did have one laugh whilst I haven't been well. I was at the out of hours doctor and he was trying to establish what was wrong with me. He said some of my symptoms could relate to a stroke but I didn't fit the age profile as I was too young. He then glanced at his notes and said "Oh, you're 43 - well you look young"! I think there was a compliment in there somewhere!

bleedingheart · 05/04/2013 21:17

Love, love, love that River Island jacket Always, hope you're feeling better now!
