New thread for a new month! Everyone is doing so well, we are forming some great habits and, hopefully, feeling better for it.

some good links:

How To Be Groomed thread

Discount Make-up and Toiletries
Cheap Smells
Fragrance Direct
Xtras Online
Look Fantastic

Its also worth joining groups like wowcher and Groupon for discount manicures etc.

Baby steps are the way forward, and if you fall off the wagon and have a pj day (or week) its ok, just jump back on. We want to take more pride in our appearance, make an effort. As one poster said, "we think there's no point making an effort if we are just at home with our DP's and DC's, but they are the most important people in our lives - why not act like it?" I certainly feel better, my self-esteem is higher and I have more confidence.

All welcome.

Happy Fabulizing Dahhlinks

Greetings fabulizers! I've been bogged down at work, hence my silence. Loving catching up with this thread and seeing what everyone has been up to.

I erm managed to slip and fall at work the other week Blush. It left a tear in my favourite black skirt, (and what turned out to be my only black skirt) so I treated myself to a new one from Reiss today, along with a pair of nude fishnets. I also splurged in All Saints and got a couple of tops that look nice layered together.

I'm working night shifts for the next 5 nights, prep work for that has mainly been to stay hydrated (coconut water in my fridge, as well as copious cups of tea) and lots of fresh veggies. I used a face mask earlier on and hopefully the first night won't be too bad!

TrampyPants · 08/03/2013 20:49

They sound lovely!

I've really cut down on caffeine and sugar lately, I'm drinking loads of herbal teas.

has MN eaten my post? gist was; not feeling well, dodgy slipper socks, clashing patterns again, trying it with dd1 too x

twinklestar2 · 09/03/2013 00:33

Ooh Trampy I love that shrug! I love butterflies!

I brought some suede ankle boots today with a low heel. I had skins lovely ones from Dorothy Perkins but they have died and I needed to replace them as I wear a lot of dresses, boots and tights.

I'm loving my Primark khaki skinnies! I have red ones and yellow ones in my wardrobe - can't wait to fit into them again.

JemimaMuddledUp · 09/03/2013 07:42

Glad you bought the orange skirt Guy, you obviously really liked it. I think you can still get away with a parka at 31 myself, but then maybe I am dillusional now I've turned 35!

Sympathies for work stress Turnip, I am similar and will be so glad when next week is over and I can relax a bit.

That wrap dress is lovely Trampy.

cjbk1 I hope you are feeling better soon!

Today I am wearing slim leg jeans, black vest top, denim shirt, tan suede chelsea boots. We have the usual round of football, drama club etc this morning. Then tonight we are going out for a meal, I am wearing my Monsoon baroque maxi dress with a black blazer. Haven't decided yet whether to wear my gold strappy shoes or black boots, I'll see how cold it is!

GuyMartinsSideburns · 09/03/2013 08:31

Morning!

I think re: getting the parker for mothers day, Im very a bit sentimental and usually for presents I pick stuff like jewellery, that I can keep. Dh is very practical - Ive got a thick wool coat for winter, a thinner one that Im wearing at the moment (I dont mean RIGHT this minute Grin ) but my black mac that I wore for about 5 years really cant give me anymore time... so dh says get the parker - you like it, you love elbow pads Blush get it as a present. (My bank account likes this idea.) I think its the price thats putting me off, but if I wear it loads then thats fine really. I reckon I could wear it with jeans in this drizzly weather, but also in warmer weather with shorts etc when you need to grab something. Told you I was trying to do my 20's now didnt I Grin In my defence a few weeks back my new friends were Shock when I told them my age.. they thought I was about 25. Can I use that? Hehe

Today Im in mustard coloured skinnies, grey vest top (long!) and a loose black short sleeved 'boxy' top over. Black long cardy, and now my grey cardy over that but obv if I go anywhere that'll come off! My jeans are too long, hoping I can get away with them tucked in boots? God knows how I can wear them when the weather is warmer.

Turnip - Im jealous, I love allsaints! My tattooist told me about it, now I wish Id never gone in there... Dh bought a dress for me in there last year, Ive worn it once and need an occasion to wear it again! I was considering 'glam fridays' but think Id get some odd looks at the school gates Grin

twinklestar2 · 09/03/2013 11:41

Guy just roll up your jeans in the hot weather and wear with sandles! Looks lovely.

JemimaMuddledUp · 09/03/2013 17:39

Have had a complete outfit change of heart for tonight. Will now be wearing this dress with black leggings, a black chunky flower necklace and black block heeled knee high boots. Looking very 1960s-esque.

twinklestar2 · 09/03/2013 19:12

I've brought a leopard print loose vest and a denim dress - the dress was only £1.04! I also brought a cat print top but it was too tight so I relisted it and it already has one bid so that's paid for itself really.

I've been having a clearout today. Have put away my size 10s so there is more space in my drawers. Next stop is sorting out the wardrobe! This gives me more of an idea what i have and what i need.

Also tried on some yellow skinnies I wore twice last summer and they fit - yaay!

twinklestar2 · 09/03/2013 23:15

To clarify I found the yellow skinnies in my wardrobe!

TrampyPants · 09/03/2013 23:19

ooh, that all sounds brilliant. I love Ebay. its ace. and yay to yellow skinnies!

I wear a parka and I'm 33, I would wear one if I was 43, they're classics now I think. Get it!

GuyMartinsSideburns · 10/03/2013 13:07

Hello Smile well thanks to all you pushy ladies Wink I decided to keep the parka but I bought it myself Grin I wore it last night to a friends with the orange skirt, grey cardy, black biker boots and aztec print scarf. Felt really good!

I was wearing it all again today, but Ive just got changed into joggers and a cosy cardy as I plan on doing nothing for the rest of the day! Hope you're all having a lovely day Thanks

TurnipCake · 10/03/2013 13:32

Hurray for the parka! Sounds like a really good combo with the biker boots.

I've just finished my second night shift, managed to sleep for most of it as I had no patients to see Blush I'm in bed with a cup of tea, magazine and face mask.

I'm celebrating Mother's Day at a later date, taking my mum out to dinner in London and I'm deciding on what to get her, I was thinking Chanel No 5 as she used to wear it a lot when I was little, or some make up as she has really got into the Lisa Eldridge videos.

TrampyPants · 10/03/2013 16:17

Guy, yay!! It sounds like you looked ace, too Grin

Turnip, glad your shift wasn't too bad, I used to hate late shifts.

JemimaMuddledUp · 10/03/2013 16:37

Glad you bought the parka Guy!

Went to church this morning then out to lunch. Wearing this dress, this cardi and shoes similar to this. The models all look miserable on the Debenhams website, I'm sure the outfit looked far less frumpy on me!

twinklestar2 · 10/03/2013 17:48

Lovely dress Jemima and good price too!

TrampyPants · 12/03/2013 13:00

oooh, that dress is lovely!

How's everyone doing? good mothers day? I have picked up my HoF order, the shrug is perfect, its so pretty and I can really see it. The dress, not so much. Its too big, I appear to have lost a fair bit of weight (I have EDs) so I don't know whether to keep it for when I get back on a keel and put on a bit of weight, try to take it in a bit (wouldnt take much, just extend the darts) or send it back. In better news, my zebra print scarf from Hong Kong has arrived. Its lovely, and a bargain. I have also got

oops, sent too soon these for a tenner, which look so good rolled up with wedge shoe boots and new knickers from M&S £1 each

GuyMartinsSideburns · 13/03/2013 20:08

Hope everyone's had a good day? Today I wore a long grey cardy, long sleeved top underneath, blue skinny jeans, worker boots, the parker Grin and my aztec scarf. Hair and makeup as usual. Need a trim soon though, my side fringe is starting to get on my nerves.

Anyone else here not quite so blessed in the eyebrow department? When I was in my teens lovely thin arched eyebrows were all the rage (I blame grunge and just17) and mine never recovered. I'm reading into hd brows but not sure there's much point - if you have to powder them in each morning I'd soon get fed up. I'd like semi permanent makeup done I think but finding someone I'm 100% happy with is proving difficult... Some pics I've seen of work done look great, then another photo I'm Shock at.

JemimaMuddledUp · 13/03/2013 21:20

Sorry haven't posted for a while - have been snowed under in work with the inspection. It is over now Wine Wine Wine

Today I wore black trousers,, black scoop neck top, black block heeled boots and my zebra scarf.

I have naturally thin eyebrows, so the HD trend is totally passing me by. I have them waxed to keep their shape, then use a bit of eyebrow pencil to darken them and that is it. I have a fringe though so they are quite well hidden.

bleedingheart · 14/03/2013 07:01

Glad the inspection is over Jemima, hope it went well.
My eyebrows never really grew, I

bleedingheart · 14/03/2013 07:04

...pluck the odd straggler every month or so but there's not much there. I've tried powder etc but feel very 'false.'
I take after my dad, he has thicker but really neat eyebrows with none of that crazy antenna thing that some older men have going on!
