The February Fabulizers - Where we turn chores into habits and accept compliments gracefully

New thread for a new month! Everyone is doing so well, we are forming some great habits and, hopefully, feeling better for it.

some good links:

How To Be Groomed thread

Discount Make-up and Toiletries
Cheap Smells
Fragrance Direct
Xtras Online
Look Fantastic

Its also worth joining groups like wowcher and Groupon for discount manicures etc.

Baby steps are the way forward, and if you fall off the wagon and have a pj day (or week) its ok, just jump back on. We want to take more pride in our appearance, make an effort. As one poster said, "we think there's no point making an effort if we are just at home with our DP's and DC's, but they are the most important people in our lives - why not act like it?" I certainly feel better, my self-esteem is higher and I have more confidence.

All welcome.

Happy Fabulizing Dahhlinks

Ah Engels thats nice Smile The chubby stick sounds good - drives me mad when hair sticks to my lipgloss, hence I never wear it anymore! I'll have to have a look in town when Im paid. Which is bloody weeks away

Trampy - thanks for the links, Ive never looked at those websites before so I've bookmarked them, again for payday Grin

So it seems my feet will be doing okay, but the rest of me will have to wait lol

Love that LaRedoute dress trampy and they have a Dutch website too! Belgian but never mind

Yay, a new thread! Smile

Today I am wearing jeans and a black long sleeved scoop neck top, with black flat knee high boots and a chunky green wooden necklace. Will be adding a black wool coat to go out later to watch DS1 and DS2 play hockey, along with a chunky cable knit mustard hat and scarf in attempt to avoid pneumonia!

Make up is a light foundation (No7 Intelligent Colour), eyebrow pencil, mascara, brown eyeliner, nude lip liner and sheer lipstick (No7 Sheer Temptation). Nails are still Shellac-ed in a muted purple, with little flowers on my ring fingers.

Still having second thoughts about what to wear tonight to the cinema, I may just see how cold I get watching the hockey.

Also a friend who has a similar style to me but has put on weight having her two daughters has offered me some of her "old" clothes as she can't see herself fitting back into them anytime soon and she thinks they will fit me. It will be nice to have a little bit more choice in my wardrobe!

Hi trampy I love that stripey La Redoute dress. Do you know how their sizes come up as I've never ordered from them. I'm usually a 12-14 (only 5 foot but big norks) but their sizing is 10-12 and 14-16.

Report
TrampyPants · 01/02/2013 14:54

Hi Nick, its quite big, I wear a 6-8 and it was a little big on me so I think you'd be better with the 12-14, tbh

Trampy thanks yes something like that might work, but maybe a bit longer - they look a bit too short :) I have a grey H&M fitted jacket that's a couple of years old I could wear, or a swing jacket that's a dark green, so might use those to create an outfit. I'm supposed to be working and now I'm browsing Ebay!

afternoon to all you gorgeous fabulizers!

Back from hairdressers and shopping, got some very nice compliments at the hairdressers on my new style similar to this hair style, bought mitts for in the shower, microfibre hair turban for after the shower, hair mask, face mask, body lotion all from the pound shop. Also got a lilac nail polish from mua and a mascara. looked in H&M saw a oxblood leather/pleather skirt and grey blazer, I nearly bought them but I really struggle to spend money on myself with clothes. I always make excuses like the kids need stuff (they dont) we are skint (i could afford them) does anyone else have this problem?

Today i was weraing my new grey mesh jumper with white long sleeved top under and blue skiiny jeans studded converse style pumps and my biker jacket.

I think so! I love the second one. its more versatile, the first is a bit too casual, imo. wear with smartish boots or heels for the meeting.

muddling - I do! Ive just ordered a few bits off the h an m website (found a code for £5 off and another for 25% off one item, and the most of the items were sale) yet I still feel guilty.... Blush

Are they on the website? Use the codes and that could make it easier?

Trampy I love that stripy jumper dress you linked to. I can't decide if I'm too big for it though. I'm 5'7" and a size 16 - what does everyone think? It looks quite short so I might need to wear leggings rather than just tights?

Report
TrampyPants · 01/02/2013 22:45

Always, how tall are you? I'm 5'1" and its just above the knee.

I have been a pampering goddess today. I have done a chocolate facial (my skin looks so smooth, fewer wrinkles too) and done a hot oil treatment and done my nails. As well as shaving, scrubbing and lotioning.

Trampy I'm 5'7" so it would be considerably shorter on me. I'm definitely not going to be flashing my thighs to the world - no-one deserves that sight!

What cool dress trampy ! and a CHOCOLATE facial?! I gave myself a pamper last night again and went through my bathroom cupboard. I have so much stuff there: cleanser/toner/body moisturiser/shower gel/shampoo/conditioner/deodorant/dry shampoo/mousse/leave in conditioning treatments and god knows how many sachets and samples! I must have 200 euros worth of stuff in there (most of it is cheap stuff but there's LOTS of it. The only thing that I spend a bit more on is Liz Earle for my face).

I haven't even looked through my make-up stores but I know I have loads of open nail varnish/lipsticks/eye shadows/mascara - all things that I don't use alot.

So, my February resolution is to use it. The only cosmetics/toiletries I am allowed to buy are toothpaste and cotton wool pads! plus this way I can spend my money on new clothes instead
