Not very inspiring- think the tiredness is showing!

OP posts:
ApuskiMcClusky · 08/03/2012 17:12

Ooh, I just tried to post on the old one! Thanks for starting the next one NY!

Anyhow, I was saying - wtf, I have just looked on eBay again, and someone is trying to flog Marni at H&M coathangers!

And - fingers crossed MiM and Icey. Ooh, MiM, my iPhone now recognises how I type your name! (easily pleased)

ApuskiMcClusky · 08/03/2012 17:13

Overdoing the oohs there.

Hopefully · 08/03/2012 17:16

Gosh, can't believe how quickly we filled the old thread! Thanks for starting a new one NY.

Hope there is some baby action for you both soon MIM and Icey.

Fritzi Grin at you needing a nap after all the excitement.

My teeny weeny warehouse shorts have arrived. Looking forward to amusing myself with a try on later.

Bonsoir · 08/03/2012 17:22

Fritzi - I had a ladies' girls' lunch, hot on the heels of depositing my Marni haul on the bed at home, and was absolutely shattered by mid-afternoon! I want to wait until tomorrow when I will have some time to dress and make up properly (and do my hair - it looked very bedraggled this morning) and try on all the clothes and decide what to keep and what to offer around!

MrsCampbellBlack - definite winners are brocade trousers, but I am still contemplating whether or not to keep the coordinating top. I need to work out how to style them together.

Evening coat is beyond fabulous - super structured in that Marni way and will go over lots of my existing evening clothes. I've wanted an evening coat for ages but never wanted to spend £££. http://www.hm.com/fr/product/98371?article=98371-A Navy parka is another really easy keep - just love it!

I bought three necklaces that are all wonderful: black flowers, the same in white, and triple multi-coloured. All definite keepers, and great to mix and match.

I really adore this zigzag top.

Still have several dresses and tops to ponder over. I really need a good practice styling session before discarding anything - they all so badly need one another to work!

I didn't take the coat hangers and the woman in the queue behind me asked whether she could have mine!

Bonsoir · 08/03/2012 17:22

Navy parka

Slaymill · 08/03/2012 17:28

Popping in to check on baby watch....

hopefully do the shorts look good.. ??

I wonder how much Marni will end up on ebay.

Quick question what is everyone wearing with NL Dicker alike boots ?

(off to read old thread ) Did I miss anything important ?

Hopefully · 08/03/2012 17:28

Fab haul Bonsoir. I really love the black and white necklaces, but neither are good colours on me. And the evening coat is beautiful!

Bonsoir · 08/03/2012 17:32

I really wanted these bracelets and these necklaces but the accessories were both going fast and furiously, and very hard to identify in rather dark light and silly boxes with green translucent covers.

Slaymill · 08/03/2012 17:37

Just skimmed the pages of old thread lots of Marni Mania and pieces going for a bomb on ebay already so answered my own question.

blue2711 · 08/03/2012 18:42

Oh, now I am jealous, bonsoir. Especially of that evening coat. Beautiful.

MarshaBrady · 08/03/2012 18:44

Love the top especially. It's a very strong collection. Seems like more mania surrounding this Marni one than the other collaborations.

AmberNectarine · 08/03/2012 18:47

I don't know if there's more mania but I think the demographic is different. Marni not really my style but I loved those silver sandals when I first saw them and couldn't resist. Quality looks a lot better than the studded tat of the Versace collaboration...

MarshaBrady · 08/03/2012 18:50

True and more relevant to this thread!

The Versace one was big, just not us.

MarshaBrady · 08/03/2012 18:52

Dh is out tonight at the place I really want to go to. BAH

I cannot wait til I get a babysitter sorted, I'm not sure I can wait until ds2 starts nursery.

I should just get one.

Decameron · 08/03/2012 19:02

Marsha, have you tried Sitters? I use them occasionally and have never had a problem.

Icey, your DD sounds very cute.

Bonsoir, you got some lovely pieces.

Well, NY, since you're offering, that would be great Wink. I googled a cat cake and found several recipes for cakes for cats! Apparently I can rent a cat cake tin, maybe I should try to make a cake. Alternatively I could give the nice people in the local deli the business.

AmberNectarine · 08/03/2012 19:11

decameron saw a very nice cat cake on the patisserie at waitrose today - £24

MarshaBrady · 08/03/2012 19:15

Thanks Decam. I should try something. Ds2 would go crazy with a stranger. So I'd like to go out late so when he goes to sleep and doesn't wake until morning.

But that doesn't always happen, as each night passes he gets better and less likely to wait, so I'm trying to be patient.

I am bit tired of being the sitter while dh hot foots it around town quite frankly!

MarshaBrady · 08/03/2012 19:15

less likely to wake....

AmberNectarine · 08/03/2012 19:19

marsha I feel your pain. I am the only person IN THE WORLD who can settle DD in the night so until she is reliably sleeping through I am basically a prisoner...

Decameron · 08/03/2012 19:23

Amber, excellent, job done!

I always put the kids to bed before I go out too. But don't get out enough either. :(

Were you looking for a cuff, Marsha? Or was it Fritzi? I saw a beautiful silver Hermes one in an ad in Elle.

MarshaBrady · 08/03/2012 19:26

I know. It's so tough. Ds2 would get so hysterical it's just not worth doing yet.

At least dh can do it, but I want to go where he is... at the same time!!

Good luck though with your dd, I really hope she sleeps well enough for you to go out soon. Will you be able to come to the MU? Should we all come round and knock on your window Wink

Oooh Fritzi bought one I think. But inspired by that I am looking too.

Decameron · 08/03/2012 19:26

Thanks Amber, just checked Waitrose, that cake is perfect (purrfect?).

pickledsiblings · 08/03/2012 19:37

Bonsoir, the only accessories you need in order to style the brocade pieces together are a sumptuous sofa and a sultry pose - did you get the white collar?

Decam, at least they weren't recipes for cakes made from cats - yuck!

Decameron · 08/03/2012 19:39

Pickled :o

AmberNectarine · 08/03/2012 19:43

Not sure about MU, I'm living in hope, she is getting better with DH. The main issue is she feeds to sleep, if I could just detach boobs and pass them over we'd be golden. Wouldn't look quite so nice in my VWA though.

decameron glad to be of service. I actually used to work for the JLP, nice I'm still promoting their business...
