Not very inspiring- think the tiredness is showing!

We are staying here which is, according to friends, pretty glam and chic. Surely some wooden wedges are necessary for an evening outing....? Grin

TBH, it will all come to a head when DH starts weighing the bags....then the scrutiny will begin.

We have a login each, and sadly finances do not stretch to a second iMac. How nice would that be though?!

NY I think FLE is being paid by your DH to lighten the luggage Grin

Slay happy birthday!

Ollie am also Angry on your behalf. Your house sounds lovely. I will be sure to invade next time we visit DH's gorgeous dutch friends.

Red your poor sis (and you, worrying about her), hope she's back home for a good rest and recovery soon.

Am absolutely done in after L2 Ripped. It is such a new set of exercises I feel like a complete newbie again.

Also, I have come to the conclusion that there are no nice bags anywhere in the world. It would help if I knew exactly what I want beyond 'not structured'. But seriously, you'd think I could find one sub-£400 bag that I loved in the whole of London and the internet.

IceCreamCastles · 19/03/2012 20:50

Yep- no need for heels in noosa ( it's fab there btw) but love the bargaining tool idea Grin

All the best for tomorrow mim. I know it's not ideal but on the positve side I have found the enforced rest very beneficial for bonding with ds, getting bf ing off to a reasonable start etc. Am lucky that dh has really stepped up to the mark and been v helpful. Hope yours will too.

Hardest thing is not being able to do as much with dd either because I can't physically or am feeding ds. She is struggling a bit Sad

Hope your sister gets well soon red.

IceCreamCastles · 19/03/2012 20:53

Btw- NY- you need to go for the seafood (and other stuff) buffet at the sheraton in noosa if they still do it- it's amazing.

AmberNectarine · 19/03/2012 20:53

One for bloss, might be too flowery

ReineDeSaba · 19/03/2012 20:56

ollie your mum is being crap..you must feel so disappointed in her but rejoice in your lovely boys and DH.

red your poor sis,wishing her a speedy recovery..hope you're o.k too.

slay hope you've had a wonderful birthday.

fritzi you speak such fantastic English..I am constantly amazed by your turn of phrase on the thread too.

have hopefully booked a hotel for next meet up..struggled as everyone wanted 2 night minimum but found a mess up online that let me do it though can't stay at ollie and fritzis choice Sad

bretonbee · 19/03/2012 21:00

Enjoying all the meet up stories - sounds like a great night.

Ollie thanks for the tegan link, I've not heard of them but some nice tops I agree...only took a cursory look earlier whilst I was at work. Sorry about your mum, mine often says a lot of things without really thinking about how they come across which I try to ignore but its pretty difficult sometimes.

Happy birthday slay - hope you've had a nice day.

Red sorry to hear about your sister...hope she gets back home and better soon.

ny your holiday sounds amazing! I would put all the shoes in to start with and then see how it goes. I always take too many dresses and end up wearing each of them once.

emo I think am going to stylestalk you with the mango skirt when I find a second to pop in there.

ReineDeSaba · 19/03/2012 21:01

icey my DD1 didn't have an instant bond with DD2..it is terribly hard to watch them struggle especially when you are upside down yourself but it will come good,I promise.

mim the end is finally nigh Smile

FLE love the bargaining tool trick you cleverything

notyummy · 19/03/2012 21:13

Happy birthday Slay!

Happy birthday Slay!

Thanks Blue and Slay, quite similar to the Chloe but with a much needed long strap.

Red hope your sister is ok very soon.

MiM nearly there.

NY yes Melbourne can be cold at Easter time. Hopefully you will get cool and sunny instead.

OllieinOrange · 19/03/2012 21:30

Just off to bed but NY, leave the wedges at home and invent a shoe emergency so you have to buy some new ones over there????
This strategy has worked for me on 1 or 2 occasions!

Red how awful for your sister. Hope she is getting the right care and makes a speedy recovery.

Thanks for all the sympathy re DM - she sent me an email saying she didnt want any unpleasantness and for me to suggest dates for her and DF to come over. Will respond tomorrow saying them being in a hotel is fine. (DH is thrilled at the prospect it has to be said!)

OllieinOrange · 19/03/2012 21:30

Oh yes, Happy Birthday Slay. Any W&A type presents to report?

ApuskiMcClusky · 19/03/2012 22:27

Evening!

Happy birthday Slay, I hope you've had a lovely day.

Red, really sorry to hear about your sister, I hope she's on the mend very soon. Hopefully her work are doing everything they can to help.

NY, I will stay out of the shoe decision-making, but know the dilemma - I could only take one pair of shoes, one pair of sandals and hiking boots to last me 6 months when we took a break to travel!

I am very relieved that DH is a fan of the DVF Honoko dress purchased on Saturday. So my question is - would it work for a black tie do? If not, I may have to do more shopping!

blue2711 · 20/03/2012 04:14

icey sorry to hear your DD is struggling. It will pass but I know how hard it is to see. Perhaps your DH can lavish a bit of extra time and attention on her? I have also been letting DS 'hold', kiss, pat, 'help with' the baby whenever he wants to. Sounds like things are going well with your DS and with your recovery though, which is great. Thinking of you.

I'm a bit Sad too after a particularly tough day. I was on my own with both DC from 7 - 7 and DD just will not sleep unless I am holding her. So I spent the whole day picking her up / putting her down or doing things one handed. Things reached disaster point at DS's bedtime when she roared throughout and for the first time ever he had to go to sleep without stories. Sounds silly but it really upset me as I normally love putting him to bed. Had a good sob after and now feel guilty for feeling cross with DD. Think I need to get one of the stretchy slings that a few of you mentioned.

Sorry to whinge!

Sam endelman leopard sandals purchased!

Decameron · 20/03/2012 07:11

Belated happy birthday Slay! Hope you had a nice slice of cake with your DC.

Apuski, that dress is beautiful. I think it would work for black tie too.

NY, you must be so excited about your holiday. I'd want one pair of heels too.

Icey, it is early days, your DD will get used to the baby. DD1 took a while to warm up to DD2 but seems quite fond of her now!

Ollie, sorry your DM upset you. I've been trying to make more of an effort to make friends here after what you were saying, but I've noticed that it is quite cliquey. The mothers at the school are pleasant but have their groups of friends now. I suppose going back to work will avoid that.

The days can be long, can't they, Blue? I laughed when my SIL complained on the phone to me that she had to do bedtime on her own because her DH was out. He is home every evening before 6. I can't even imagine that. Hope your sandals cheer you up.

Glad the party went well, Annie.

Fritzi, I've been eyeing up that LK Bennett bag too. Very very nice.

I ordered a navy Barbour hat and a pale grey Splendid top, I found it for £40 on Stylebop.com, it is £60 elsewhere.

I am going shopping and to meet a friend. I will report back with any purchases.
Have good days, y'all!

Decameron · 20/03/2012 07:12

I've just noticed the time you posted, Blue. Hope you got a few more hours sleep after that.

MidnightinMoscow · 20/03/2012 07:19

Blue, you poor thing. The sling sounds like a good idea Don't feel guilty for being cross, it's natural because you want so much so meet both their needs, which at times is impossible. You are doing a fab job and today hopefully will be a better day. Not sure if this helps, but DS was very much like that and in the end I tried some cranial oestopathy (sp?) for him, which seemed to work and settle him a little.

Icey lovely to hear from you, sorry to here that DD is struggling a bit. Probably a realisation that the arrival of her DB is permanent! Thanks for the advice, and yes the enforced resting will be good.

Been up all night with on and off contractions, which have led to nothing. Going to spring clean the house this morning, in prep for being out of action for the next few weeks.

Oh, meant to say Bloss your new coat is the main display item in our Maxmara section, and it looks so, so chic. Also, I saw that lovely blue dress you linked to a while ago Decam from there, they have it in coral too, very pretty.

AmberNectarine · 20/03/2012 07:36

Oh blue I have so been when you are now, and I promise it does get better! My DD had colic so between 6-11 in this house was just hell. Like decameron my DH is never home for bedtime so it was nigh on impossible. In the end I just used to leave the baby safely in her bouncy chair downstairs (screaming blue murder, of course) while I did a quick 5 min story with DS. I did feel horrible about it, but to be honest, she would scream at that time whether I hel her or not so I decided to prioritise DS. It all settled after 12 weeks and now they sit and listen to stories together. I remember all to keenly though the feeling I was failing them both. It's a mumsnet mantra but I'll say it anyway 'this too shall pass'. Hope you have a brighter day today, you're doing wonderfully at a very hard job!

decameron hope you find something lovely. I too am planning a bit of shopping today!

Decameron · 20/03/2012 07:42

MiM, I was upstairs getting dressed and suddenly remembered that today is the big day so rushed back down to say good luck! I will be thinking of you. I tried that dress on but it didn't look great on me. Love Bloss's jacket though.

Have a good day shopping, Amber!
