Anyone still "princessing?"

I have been reading .....

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/style_and_beauty/1156122-Project-Princess/AllOnOnePage

Fab thread and so inspiring!

Is anyone still doing this?

I am trying to add in the good habits from the thread into my life and wondered how well all the posters had done in their changes?

Honey I am NEVER done princessing!!

I remember that toward the end of the thread I fell ill & on the real princess' big day I spent the entire day in bed recuperating! I watched the highlights after the event.

Had a lot of fun with the thread though & definitely up for a revival if you are.

blobtobetter · 25/10/2011 21:08

I read the thread after it had ended. Loved watching the wedding though! Plus I wanted to BE Amy Adams in Enchanted.

I just thought it was the sort of thing that would continue on and on - maybe with new habits later on!

I love this thread!

Does the Shred DVD work?

flipflopflap · 26/10/2011 11:45

Just had a look at the original thread, I wish I had seen it first time around! I was thinking I might start 'Princessing' for Christmas, and arrange a big night out with the girls! Smile

BlackSwan · 26/10/2011 15:45

flipflop, Christmas is the perfect challenge deadline.

Here we go:

Princess Project II - the rules:

  1. 8 glasses of water a day
  2. Exfoliate
  3. Use teeth whitener
  4. Use anti-aging face cream
  5. Intensive nail care (feet and hands)
  6. Use eyelash growth serum OR eye cream.
  7. The Shred / other intensive exercise
  8. At least 2 extra fruit & veg
  9. Healthy breakfast daily
10. Hair oil (moroccan hair oil for eg, or kerastase etc) 11. No alcohol during the week 12. Daily vitamins 13. Body brushing 14. At least 2 servings of salmon or other fatty fish per week. 15. One early night once a week. Suggest 9PM. 16. Regular hair removal 17. Give up one naughty favourite item e.g. chocolate/crisps 18. No more fizzy drinks 19. DAILY body moisturising 20. Warm water with lemon first thing in the a.m.

Who is in?

I'm off to buy lemons & make a dental appointment...

josephinebonaparte · 26/10/2011 15:59

Fuck that. Sounds like hard work.

blobtobetter · 26/10/2011 17:38

I am in .... once I finish this white toblerone anyway!

I wish I had seen the thread the first time around too.

OP posts:
iloveeverton · 26/10/2011 18:04

I'm in. I'm bad at the moisturising and remembering eyelash serum!

flipflopflap · 26/10/2011 18:08

I'm in! They are all do-able for me apart from the Fish as I'm veggie, but after a quick google search it seems that flax seed oil is a good replacement, so going to get some of that

Just ordered some hair oil and going to get some vitamins too, I've been meaning to anyway so it should be the kick up the bum that I need! Health Food store shopping tomorrow for me I think :D

FauxFox · 26/10/2011 19:02

Me - i'm in. I like the idea of princessing Smile i'll start tomorrow properly as i've already had a glass of wine but i might do a mani and pedi this eve.

bigkidsdidit · 26/10/2011 20:12

I'm in :) except the wine. I'm sorry. I only have three ish glasses a week but I love them Blush

Any recommendations on eyelash serum that works?

jobags · 26/10/2011 20:23

I would love to try this too! I can't do the no alcohol though cos I like a glass of sherry while making dinner [hblush]. What sort of vitamins are we talking about, specific to hair n nails etc or vitamin a, b,c ???

BlackSwan · 26/10/2011 20:34

I'm so glad we're kicking this off again! Welcome everyone!

Wine, in moderation then - ok girls.

Bigkids, I have been using Enormous Lash since the last princess proj, but I think it's stopped working... a little old now. I want to try something different.
May give RapidLash a go www.amazon.co.uk/RapidLash-13620-Eyelash-Enhancing-Serum/dp/B002WTC38O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1319657547&sr=8-1.

Jobags, regarding vitamins - I suppose we all have our own deficiencies & should take what we need the most. I'm using perfectil/multivitamin & must start taking the iron that has been sitting on the shelf since I last felt deflated.

bigkidsdidit · 26/10/2011 20:37

Brills. I might get the imedeen pack out again, I used o love it but had to stop when I got pregnant.

This is great!

TartyMcFarty · 26/10/2011 21:45

I'm in, after all, I did ask where I should start on the whole style and beauty thing.

Questions - what is involved in the teeth whitening thing? Just fancy pants toothpaste? Hair oil - really? My hair gets kinda greasy, though it's highlighted so a bit dry too!

bucaneve · 26/10/2011 21:55

I'm in too :)

Have started a new degree, and moved house in the last month so am very much in a 'new (academic) year, new me' frame of mind.

Plus I'm going to Italy for a big family wedding in the Xmas hols so I want to look nice for that, I always feel mega frumpy compared to my Italian cousins!

gobbolinothewitchscatinboots · 26/10/2011 21:58

Me me me!! I need to get back on this! (I 'm normally just catinboots)

I princessed for my wedding in August and it's all gone downhill since then Blush

BlackSwan · 26/10/2011 23:03

Tarty, glad to meet you. Teeth whitening, well I have to say using a fancy pants toothpaste is probably just going to make you stare at your teeth for too long in the mirror wondering whether it is making any difference. Someone please tell me I'm wrong, but I don't think toothpaste alone can really whiten your teeth.

Rather shamefully, I have LOST my teeth whitening trays, which I had for years. Just got caught up with the general debris in the bathroom and chucked them out I guess. I have been using 'Go Smile' instant whitening (10 quid for a pack of 7 from SpaceNK)...but I think you need to use them daily to make a long term difference. I think I will invest in some new trays as soon as I can swallow the cost.

Hello catinboots! Welcome back. Of course you've relaxed a bit since your pre-wedding days, but we're here to make sure you don't let it all slide too far. Let's see whether we can get any more of the old crew back on board!

OnlyWantsOne · 26/10/2011 23:06

*tentatively pops head in and wants to get involved

Hi Smile

I'm in. Will take it slowly though. Don't want to shock myself Wink

StranglyGiraffe · 26/10/2011 23:14

OnlyWantsOne · 26/10/2011 23:15

Kellamity · 26/10/2011 23:18
