I have been reading .....

Fab thread and so inspiring!

Is anyone still doing this?

I am trying to add in the good habits from the thread into my life and wondered how well all the posters had done in their changes?

Ok I'm ready for the challenge girls- 'i'm in!'
I have never moisturised really but im going to give it all a go!

sunshineoutdoors · 29/10/2011 14:11

what face cream are people using?

BlackSwan · 29/10/2011 14:22

perceptionreality - the 15%+ teeth whiteners are most likely carbamide peroxide (like mine). You can get hydrogen peroxide whiteners at lower concentration, which can work faster but possibly with more tooth sensitivity. I wouldn't bother getting a tooth whitening kit with trays from your pharmacy (if that's what you're contemplating), for 2 reasons. Firstly the trays are so uncomfortable as they're not custom made...they're more like a tooth guard, so you'll end up with a mouth full of saliva and gel and be less inclined to use the. Secondly the concentration of active ingredient low.

Skinnygirl - you have never moisturised? I'm speechless. I can't get by without it, though my skin is pretty dehydrated, I'd feel really uncomfortable without moisturiser after cleansing.

perceptionreality · 29/10/2011 14:27

Thanks BlackSwan - I have been looking at the kits available online and trying to find one that will work.

lemonbonbons · 29/10/2011 15:55

Just seen this thread , and would love to join in.

I can also recomend the crest whitestrips (I have had them about 3 times now- off ebay) I think I ll send for some more.

For those of you who can t find the time for body moisturising , I ve started using baby oil . Its fab. Whenever you have finshed your bath/shower squirt it all over while you are soaking wet- rub it in roughly (only for about 10 sec all over the body ) dab yourself with a towel and then put a towelling dressing gown on. By the time you have your hair make up done- its all sunk in and you are smooth :)

I ve been using boots own baby oil but would like to try the neutrogena 'grown up' one but its expensive in comparison. Anyone had any success with it ?

Which vitamins do you all use ? Do they work ?

iloveeverton · 29/10/2011 22:09

Well done everyone!

Today I have drank water ( and 2 glasses of wine), used teeth whitening kit for 40 mins, ran 5km, exfoliated, moisturised, epilated legs, washed hair and put oil in, been swimming. Did the regime from acne.org morning and evening.

Littlepumpkinpie · 29/10/2011 23:21

Well today was not a good one on the buying of supplies Hair oil and a few other pamper bits. I did get my caterpillars eyebrows threaded but after an encounter with some unsavoury shoppers (I rumbled two Hustlers) I was very shaken, came home not wanting to shop in town now well at busy times plan on returning for stuff as soon as DC goes back to school on monday Just hope I dont come over all shakey. But on a good note I did not go and buy some cigs the urge to smoke was high I am very proud of my self as I did enter a news agents with the intentions of buying some but I came out of that shop with a bottle of water and mints :)
So today I did
Good Breakfast
lots of water
All over moisturise
foot pamper Ggrr at that varruca
Eye brows threaded
Multi vitamins plus Omega 3 ones now because I cannot eat fish because it makes me very ill (sobs because I used to love it so much)
Facial exfoiliate plus cleanse/tone and Moisturise
NO EXERCISE ah well

BlackSwan · 30/10/2011 08:20

What happened exactly littlepumpkinpie?! Hope you're ok.

iloveeverton · 30/10/2011 08:27

Littlepumpkinpie sorry to hear about your fright at the shops. But massive well done on the not smoking!

I love getting my eyebrows threaded- not done it for a few months so might try for this week.

iloveeverton · 30/10/2011 08:28

Also crest whitestrips there seem to be a few different types on eBay and amazon is there a best type to get?

lemonbonbons · 30/10/2011 09:31

iloveeverton- the professional crest White strips are the ones to get. They are stronger % so work very quickly. You will see a difference in 5 days Grin

I ll order some too today x

iloveeverton · 30/10/2011 13:16

Thanks lemon

Cheeseandseveredfingersarnie · 30/10/2011 13:34

im not doing very well so farGrin i forgot!
i did go and buy body gloves-i love them!
and i have actually been using my moisturiser instead of just ignoring it!

i dont want to lose weight,i just want to look healthier and feel better.

BlackSwan · 30/10/2011 13:48

Two steps in the right direction cheesesarnie.

I decided to start using these great Shiseido retinol patches that have sat in my bathroom cabinet for a few months. They're fantastic. Love retinol. In case anyone is beginning to suspect, I'm a bit of a hoarder of all things beautifying... need to make sure I actually use them.

underactivethyroidmum · 30/10/2011 19:47

Can I join you ladies too !!

I really do need to start looking after myself instead of everyone else and as I'm planning a few nights out over Christmas then a big holiday in early February I might just be able to loose a stone or two Grin

BlackSwan · 30/10/2011 20:42

Yes underactive, always room for one more! Easy to forget about taking care of yourself with everyone else clamouring for your attention. Good luck!

Place marking - lots of good ideas on this thread. Still not sorted nails, but will do now.

wandawings · 30/10/2011 21:22

I'm in if you don't mind? I'm going to tweak the list to suit but will follow along more or less. Where is the best place to get the hair oil?

BlackSwan · 30/10/2011 21:57

Hi wandawings, you can Moroccan Oil from your hairdresser, or any one of the other brands of similar oils on the market now. Kerastase & L'oreal both make a hair oil now...
There are different ways to use hair oil. You can put it in your hair before you wash it, or use a very small amount prior to or after styling. It's lovely stuff, my hair has been in great condition since starting to use it. I used to have very dry ends.

wandawings · 31/10/2011 10:14

Thanks Blackswan, I shall take a look now I know what I'm after :)

DrunkenDaisy · 31/10/2011 10:24

I have a question:

If Rapid Lash works so well, why don't men put it on their bald spots?

I'm off to buy some now.

And regarding the crest strips (which I have bought but not used yet); am I supposed to use one a day for 4 days, or one a week for 4 weeks?

thanks.

bigkidsdidit · 31/10/2011 11:15

Morning!

Back late last night from a weekend at my mum's and a 16 hour work day today :( BUT I am going to boots later to buy rapid lash and I managed to remember to body brush and take my vitamin at 5 am :)

I'm doing a long experiment with lots of sitting round today so if anyone wants me to look up any products on the medical databases to see if they actually work I will!

Snapespeare · 31/10/2011 11:24

place marking and hello - determined to love myself a little bit extra, particularly as good intention slid dramatically over the weekend (cake and wine...) :)

spent £78 in boots on saturday. good grief! hair oil (yummy!) nano blur (... Hmm ) and topping up my vitamins on the 3 for 2. Also bought Elvive smooth intense, which has argan oil in it and really saw an immediate difference. :)

currently taking lots of vitamins in the morning, drinking my water - had a dettol bath on saturday and de-fuzzed (is amazing! thank you whoever gave me that tip..) and have just ordered crest white strips off of ebay. skipped breakfast (bad!) but have cov garden soup for lunch.

need to knock the wine of an evening on the head though. will be aiming at friday/saturday only and then in vague moderation

BlackSwan · 31/10/2011 12:36

Drunken Daisy - actually, the same science is being applied to baldness! Revitalash have come out with a hair growth mousse for men www.revitalash.com/revitalash-products/hair-revitalash.
