Anyone still "princessing?"

I have been reading .....

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/style_and_beauty/1156122-Project-Princess/AllOnOnePage

Fab thread and so inspiring!

Is anyone still doing this?

I am trying to add in the good habits from the thread into my life and wondered how well all the posters had done in their changes?

OP posts:

I am still doing my shred. On a good week i get it done 5 times on a bad week twice. It has toned everthing really well

PrimaBallerina · 26/10/2011 23:38

I'll join in, sounds just the ticket to get me back to pre pregnancy form.

BupcakesandHaunting · 27/10/2011 00:30

I will join in, if that's OK?

Am looking and feeling like crap at the minute. I feel healthier and perkier just reading the list. :)

PerryCombover · 27/10/2011 01:12

I'm in

bigkidsdidit · 27/10/2011 07:40

someone told me before my wedding to buy crest strips on ebay from american sellers, they have enough stuff in them to actually whiten your teeth, unlike the ones in the EU. Whether this is true (or in fact safe) I do not know.

gobbolinothewitchscatinboots · 27/10/2011 07:56

Day 1, I'm up and have drunk 2 pints of water so far. Having my hair done today and am going to exfoliate and tan later,

jobags · 27/10/2011 08:38

oh bother [hangry]
I started well last night; moisterised body and face. I was going to start this morning with hot water and lemon. Just forgot and had a big cuppa tea with sugar. I think i need to print out a list!!

SquongebobSparepants · 27/10/2011 08:42

Ooh, can I join in? I have recently gone back to work and am feeling very crappy with no time so want something like this before I see my family for christmas and have my first work night out in years!

Need to make a serious list for payday tomorrow though.

OnlyWantsOne · 27/10/2011 09:20

I'm not doing that water and lemon nonsense. Vile

flipflopflap · 27/10/2011 09:31

Last night I made sure I did a full cleanse and moisturise, did my work out DVD and did my nails.

I did cheat a bit by having a teeny glass of baileys as I forgot about the no-alcohol rule, but I'm doing weight watchers and it was within my points so I'm not going to feel too bad about it!

This morning I've had my glass of water with lemon and I'm going to try and drink more water throughout the day. Off to town later to get some supplies as well. Can anyone recommend where to get Crest Strips from? I googled them and it was a bit of a minefield Confused

TaffyandTeenyTaffy · 27/10/2011 09:35

I'm thinking about it - its a bit like a giant early New Year resolution Grin

NotNeeemo · 27/10/2011 10:00

I am in Smile

Lizzylou · 27/10/2011 10:03

I need to do this, am looking a state at the moment.
Have put loads of weight on since getting back off holiday in early sept. My skin is a mess and I am not exercising like I was.
I can't seem to have the willpower unless I know I have to get semi-naked on holiday. I need to do this for me though.

BafangaTheSombre · 27/10/2011 10:05

Can I join you please, Smile
Like the idea of being reminded to do all the things that are good for me,
Quite good with the water, moisturising and the water drinking already!

MrsSnow · 27/10/2011 10:39

Ladies I am in Smile

I totally need a reminder to take care of my skin!

bigkidsdidit · 27/10/2011 10:58

my big problem is my nails - I bite the skin Blush and it looks horrid. I'm gonig to buy that stop and grow stuff today and paint it all over.

Will do my callanetics dvd tonight for the first time in a few years!

kittydinner · 27/10/2011 11:17

Please don't hate me... but please don't waste your money on eyelash serum. As a biochem student I am confident it's a load of hogswash designed to prey on our insecurities and part us with £30-60 AND I actually bought some just to make sure and no, no it didn't work, not even after 4 months. Load of bollocks. Oddly enough though, and I have only ever seen anecdotal evidence for this, castor oil does a pretty good job for some people helping improve lash retention and condition, myself included (plus it's v. cheap, I use it to take my make-up off). Skin, hair and nail supplement is your best bet coupled with not scrubbing your eye make up off and carefully moisturising the area.

perceptionreality · 27/10/2011 11:20

Black Swan can I ask which tooth whitening system you use?

I must put the salmon into my routine - I used to do this every week and have slipped.

PrimaBallerina · 27/10/2011 11:31

bigkids I do that too - mine are in a right state. I don't think I could use that stuff you paint on as 7 mo DS likes to bite my fingers a lot.

kitty good tip about the castor oil, I've got some in the bathroom from when I tried the OCM. I've got a really awful habit if pulling at my eyelashes and eyebrows. Maybe I should just sit on my hands.

Day one is off to a poor start as I've had bacon and eggs with DH. However, I'm now off to the gym (which is definitely working on the mum tum) and will be doing my toenails later.

I've got some professional tooth bleach in the fridge from 2002. It's unopened and came from the dentist. Will it still work?

tak1ngchances · 27/10/2011 11:34

I am DESPERATE to look better. I am completely grey and haggard and people at work keep telling me I look dreadful (cheers).
The bits I have got to do are:
Early night at least once a week
Exfoliate
Tooth whitener
Moisturise every night
Extra fish and veg

As I have a grey Celtic complexion, I really need to use something like Holiday Skin or Summer Glow. I have neglected myself for weeks and months and I have got hairy legs, chipped nails, huge bags and circles under my eyes and stained teeth. Attractive.

BlackSwan · 27/10/2011 11:47

kittydinner - I don't hate you, but you are wrong about the eyelash serum... some of them are indeed just BS conditioners and will do absolutely nothing to grow lashes, but there are formulations containing bimatoprost (actually a glaucoma treatment) which definitely do grow lashes...

architien · 27/10/2011 11:57

2 much loved DC in 2 years and a DH who doesn't really help much works long hours will result in the disheveled tired out heap of woman that I currently am. I'm not sure I like the term princessing for some reason but I get the concept and could do with joining in.

Need to get hair dyed and cut cousin IT has nothing on me

Going to try to olive oil and steam face everyday

Interested to see how folk get on with the hair oil, had a look online...do you think olive oil would work? I've got a tonne of that but no Argan trees to call upon

Early night is a great idea as I fall (and stay) asleep on the sofa several times a week from exhaustion whilst being determined to get an evening.

Salmon-good idea.

I need to give up chocolate.

When the coffee runs out I'm going cold turkey.

I'm going to get some lemons in.

I got hammered in pregnancy have difficult pregnancies with SPD so now have to do physio. If there's a project going on then I have a better chance to remember to do the ouchy bloody awful exercises I'm meant to do in order to recover.

Where do I sign?

Pootles2010 · 27/10/2011 12:05

Black Swan can I ask how much these serums are? Could you recommend me one?

noddyholder · 27/10/2011 12:19

This all sounds like good common sense but calling it 'princessing' counts me out.

Meglet · 27/10/2011 12:21

bigkidsdidit I tend to chew the skin around my nails. Using nail polish has helped me stop doing it so much. Once I have a nice coat of colour on my finger-tips I don't want to chew the skin and feel all 'pointy' and 'gesture-y'.

I find my nails are hard to do neatly so have got round it by doing it at the weekend in the evening, clear base coat, let it dry....., coat of colour, let it dry for a few mins then use a quick dry & anti-chip top coat so I can use my hands within 20 mins or so.

Any splodges around the nails and on the skin are easily rubbed off the next day by putting handcream on, letting it sink in then scrubbing the excess polish off with a flannel. By monday all the messy bits have gone and I can face with week with groomed nails.
