I have been reading .....

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/style_and_beauty/1156122-Project-Princess/AllOnOnePage

Fab thread and so inspiring!

Is anyone still doing this?

I am trying to add in the good habits from the thread into my life and wondered how well all the posters had done in their changes?

DrunkenDaisy · 28/10/2011 09:28

Please please please can I join?

I feel like I'm decaying by the day and want to look good for my holiday in Feb. Also my DH is 6 years younger than me and I don't want to look like his Mum.

I have cut out carbs after lunch during the week, although I am still drinking wine and smoking a bit too. I have bought the Crest teeth whitening strips though.

bigkidsdidit · 28/10/2011 09:40

I'm the same as you Sunshine - gave birth in January, turned 30 in June. Am still a stone overweight and a bit haggard!

Yesterday was a tough day - tricky work meetings, grouchy DS, DH away, family trouble, so I didn't manage as much as I'd hoped. But I did paint my toenails, drink lots of water and I did all my hand washing and ironing so my clothes look nice :)

Today - exercise DVD, DON'T BITE NAILS, my enzyme face mask that takes your skin off, hair treatment, dig out teeth whitening strips from wherever they are.

tak1ngchances · 28/10/2011 11:21

Yesterday I did a moisturising mask, de-fuzzed legs, did a mani-pedi and tinted my eyebrows. I also did a head massage and a nice blow-dry. I do feel a whole lot better today.
The effort does definitely pay off, it's just v frustrating that all the work can be reversed so quickly!

LaVitaBellissima · 28/10/2011 11:29

Just seen this thread, I was on the last one but fell off Blush can I re join?Smile

I did however lose 10lbs on the last thread Smile

I have started doing the no alcohol Sun -Thurs and having a sensible breakfast pate on toast this morning oops

I didn't do the eyelash thing last time but have some serum from a goodie bag I got last weekend at the luxury wedding show, so will see how it goes.

My friend has had eyelash extentions though and HD brows done and she looks amazing!

LaVitaBellissima · 28/10/2011 11:35

P.S.

AGE: 31
CHILDREN: I have twins who will be a year old next week
HEIGHT: 5ft 6
WEIGHT: Approx 10st 4lb and would like to lose a stone and tone up
PRINCESS REASON: I am planning on getting married (in 2013!) Smile and would like to feel less mumsy (although I think the mumsy thing is all in my head iykwim Wink)

jobags · 28/10/2011 12:31

Today I did have a sensible breakfast and have had very few carbs all week. Still having sherry of an evening tho [hblush]. i have just bought Boots "Skin Hair Nails" pack for only £11 and some organix Morocan hair oil for £ 6.99. I am hoping cutting the carbs and walking the dog swiftly for 2 hours a day will help flatten my tummy a bit.[hsad]

architien · 28/10/2011 13:05

Oh something I've found really improves my skin is eating a few natural not the sugared kind almonds. I think i ought to get a bag Smile

architien · 28/10/2011 13:15

Having a look at the Argan Oil. What do folks think of this one as a price and how much do you use for a month?

bucaneve · 28/10/2011 13:46

Ooh I love sugared almonds (especially the ones you get at weddings) architien , they are my all time favourite sweet!

Haven't actually done anything yet, but as soon as my bursary comes in I'm going to splash out on some new foundation, clear mascara (to tame my slightly caterpillary eyebrows), and some multivitamins.

Can anyone recommend a good, cheap (face) moisturizer for dry sensitive skin?

beatenbyayellowzombie · 28/10/2011 13:51

bucaneve you might hate it but I've just started using a tube of E45 on my face and I love it!

bigkidsdidit · 28/10/2011 14:25

My biochemistry background comes to the fore when buying moisturisers. They are almost all a massive con. The only differences pretty much are perfume, consistency, ease of sinking in etc. All this DNA and pentapeptides talk is shite. Any cream can by law call itself anti aging if it contains sun cream.

I have dry skin and I swear by astral. I love it, have lovely soft skin and more money for stuff where you do get what you pay for eg mascara!

bigkidsdidit · 28/10/2011 14:26

You didn't ask any of that did you Blush

BlackSwan · 28/10/2011 14:32

Hi bigkid, I'm certainly interested to hear your views! What do you think of products that contain growth hormones such as the products by Revive? Their claim to fame is that they won a nobel prize. I have to say I love this brand www.reviveskincare.com/store/content/htmlTemplate.jsp?itemCat=meetthemolecules&catId=cat240050

BlackSwan · 28/10/2011 14:33

LaVita - so nice to see you back again. How exciting that your twins are turning 1! That's great.

Fo0ffyShmooffer · 28/10/2011 14:34

Hi
I would like to join in and give it a bash (as long as no one holds me to it)Grin
If I achieve one thing on that list it's a start.
I'm considering eyebrow threading. Does anyone have an opinion on it before I book?

architien · 28/10/2011 15:20

Fo0ffy I think it's nicer than waxing, well IME although I really ought to get doing that again. Does sting a bit. Especially those awful hairs above my nose. No snorting in the back row...I have not got a unibrow...honest!!

beatenbyayellowzombie · 28/10/2011 15:59

Fo0ffy I prefer it to waxing too. But it does hurt, there's no denying it.

gobbolinothewitchscatinboots · 28/10/2011 16:02

Just bought Rapidlash in Boots today. 41 quid!!!!!! [hshock]

TheGrassIsJewelled · 28/10/2011 16:20

Eyebrows plucked, facial hair (ahem) waxed, hair mask done, blackhead nose thing done (didn't seem to get many out though sadly), legs shaved, vitamin taken. I still don't look like a princess...

Still on the list for today:
Crest strips
Sort nails

beatenbyayellowzombie · 28/10/2011 16:26

Where can we buy the crest strips?

bigkidsdidit · 28/10/2011 17:35

Will have a look Blackswan :)

I do think though, in general, if anything DOES work, it's probably dangerous. I dont want nanoparticles getting through my skin into my blood and breastmilk etc Shock

blobtobetter · 28/10/2011 17:36

I got my crest strips on eBay.

Does salmon count as an oily fish? I don't like things with bones in!

I have been drinking so much water! I must have been dehydrated. I know from the last water drinking kick I went on that in a few days I will be able to go to the loo less than twice every 5 minutes!

OP posts:
BlackSwan · 28/10/2011 18:56

Salmon definitely counts. Even tinned salmon counts. If anyone is eager to try the Perricone diet I swear it works wonders. It basically involves cutting out carbs & stuffing yourself with salmon, blueberries and melon. That sounds harsh. It makes your skin glow.

bigkids... take your point. Wouldn't have tried anything so chemical laden when I was pg or BF'ing but now I'll take my chances.

LaVitaBellissima · 28/10/2011 19:05

Foofy Eyebrow threading bloody hurts and varies in cost depending on where you go. £20+ in some expensive beauty salons, but is only £3 near me, but I can't take the pain. Get HD brows they look amazing Smile

MaeMobley · 28/10/2011 20:10

Hi girls, I want to join too.

Can I ask a couple of questions:

  1. lemon and water: what does it do? can I still have coffee after?
  2. hair oil: when do you put it on? do you leave it in?

Ok, that was more than 2 questions. Thanks.
