Well done!

And super well done NY - how fab to be offered both jobs Smile

blossoming · 02/02/2011 20:55

traceybath, you do realise those are my jeans don't you?? I have had two pairs now, in different sizes, and next time I can go down again! Although quite useful if it gets cold again as I have been known to wear jeggings under mine!
Love, love, love that necklace, and I've linked to the breton before too. Is it that different to the £15 one I bought in M&S today though?
Sorry you've been poorly looby. Can't help with your shopping though at the moment. Will put my thinking cap on!
notyummy, glad you're feeling better. And congratulations. Clever girl!! Which is the best option for you?
My interview is on Monday. Probably all day. Teach a class in the morning, interview in the afternoon. It's quite normal to teach a class apparently, but I've never done it in an interview before. As long as they let me know soon which class and what they know already I'll be fine. I hope.

feeling I'm an apple too - more like a 14/16 at the moment but working very very hard to rectify that with some serious shredding. Hope to be 12/14 by the end of maternity leave.

I tried on navy Janice today in House of Fraser and I was amazed! It is such a fabulous dress - I had a waist! So of course I bought it. Also bought a red stripe top, but can't find it online. I tried very hard to find a breton top (based on advice given to feeling) but sadly my boobs are just too big at the moment and breastfeeding bras do them no favours at all Sad. All the bretons I tried on just looked awful on me. Maybe apples just can't wear vertical stripes?

As for the hunt for skinnies - i like the look of the TopShop ones red.

BelligerentGhoul · 02/02/2011 20:57

Good luck with the interview, Bloss. Most schools expect candidates to teach a lesson now and v sensible it is too! The pupils are usually on their very best behaviour as various important people are in the room to observe!

More importantly - what are you wearing to the interview? :)

ApuskiDusky · 02/02/2011 20:58

Stamp!

Wow, NY, well done! (need to read the rest of the other thread first to find out what's happened!).

Good luck tomorrow bloss!!

Am trying to study, so apologies for absence.

blossoming · 02/02/2011 20:58

looby, Pure have silk tops here. Although you're smaller than a 12 I think aren't you?

OP posts:
Bonsoir · 02/02/2011 20:58

Oh yes, congratulations notyummy! Very well done, especially in the current climate!

I was reading about Houlihans on the other thread. I finally made it to the shops today - went to buy new glasses for DD, and then to browse jeans for me, and ended up buying a pair of navy Houlihans. I agree the fit is very close... I went a size up from normal and they are actually not particularly tight on the waist and bottom, but oh gosh the calves. I had to take my thick winter socks off to prevent my circulation coming to a grinding halt Blush. Will also need some new footwear to wear them with... ho hum!

FritziGreenEyes · 02/02/2011 21:02

stamp, thanks bloss. Good to hear that you have your interview wardrobe sorted. Isn't it strange that you sometimes compile the perfect outfit in your head, then put everything on and it just looks totally wrong? Think my new dress might fall into this category... Will put on tomorrow for DH's opinion and maybe return. My benchmark for the perfect dress is Janice: easy to wear, can be dressed up or for everyday, makes me feel confident.

looby I always wash silk tops in the washing machine on cold. Love the red! Hope the bath helps to make you feel better.

notyummy That is so exciting about the job offers, congrats and well done!

Good luck for your interview too sensitive.

tracey Lovely things on your list. That Alex Monroe necklace is beautiful.

marsha I also need bags to store winter clothes in. What do you use to store cashmere jumpers in? They will get baggy if you put them on a hanger, non?

notyummy · 02/02/2011 21:04

I also like those jeans Tracey.

Sorry to hear that you have been ill Looby.

The teaching bit of the interview must be nerve wracking. I qualified as a secondary school many moons ago and I remember the assessed lessons as part if my PGCE being scary!

It is obviously good to have got them both. I know which one I am going to go for though- it is with Dept if Business, Innovation and skills which is better for me long term if I move back into consultancy.

blossoming · 02/02/2011 21:06

belligerent, long story, just posted on the last thread about grey trousers, black top, black silk cardigan and lace up shoe boots. Do you teach?

Lucky girl bonsoir. I know lots of us tried them on last summer but couldn't work them. I like the way NAP have styled them too. Although this is how I'd wear them Wink

OP posts:
notyummy · 02/02/2011 21:07

Apologies for my rather incoherent iPhone last post!

FritziGreenEyes · 02/02/2011 21:07

bonsoir The navy houlihans look great. What kind of tops are you going to wear them with?

lackaDaisy · 02/02/2011 21:08

Congratulations notyummy Well done Smile

bouncing blueberries I know exactly what you mean. I'm breast feeding dd2 and my boobs are unbelievable! I was ample to start with, but am now a very full G cup. DH calls them my "porn star boobs" Blush. It might make him happy but it's very hard to find tops that don't make me look mumsy with such heavy breasts.

Feelingsensitive · 02/02/2011 21:09

bouncingbluberries - I am with you on the horizontal stripe thing. I love the bretons on here but know they would look like as wide as an air strip on me I must find this Janice dress.

I have found a few things for interview on monday could I have your opinions. Just to warn you I am serioiusly out of practice as I have been a SAHM for 3 years:

this shirt

admittedly woudl need to see the fan detail but like this skirt Presumably there is a jacket to go with the skirt but will see tomorrow.

All from Oasis which I dont normally go in but also spotted what are, in my opinion, some lovely dresses:

rose print with slight mad-men theme

could potentially be a bit sack like but still a nice black dress for work

love this shirt dress even though it would look hideous on me

redllamayellowllama · 02/02/2011 21:11

Love the Alex Monroe necklace Tracey, I really would love to receive one of those!

Outfit sounds great Bloss - although annoying that the Sahara wasn't quite the thing.

Congratulations NY - which one does your gut tell you to go for? Are they very different roles?

Sorry to hear you've been so ill Looby. I quite like this Mango dress. I also love this, which meets none of your criteria, but it's pretty, isn't it?!

Now, is there anyone here who would like a pair of Black Nudie Long Johns? They're a w29 l30 (quite a niche size, I know) which are now too big for me. Free to a good home.

FritziGreenEyes · 02/02/2011 21:12

blossoming Forgot to say that I shamelessly copied you today by channeling my inner Emmanuelle Alt: Wore black coated H&M skinnies, black COS cashmere jumper, grey Sportmax coat and grey Belstaffs. I used to wear a lot of black in my mid-twenties and although I know it is not my colour at all, it felt good.

redllamayellowllama · 02/02/2011 21:12

Second link should have been this

Feelingsensitive · 02/02/2011 21:13

after all that my links don't work.

and I can't spell/type.

redllamayellowllama · 02/02/2011 21:14

BB and Daisy, I feel your pain. I have a small waist hiding under mine, but you'd never know it. Bf-ing bras are the worst things ever too, which doesn't help.

Today's outfit sounds fab Fritzi.

notyummy · 02/02/2011 21:16

I like that fan skirt Feeling.

Can't get those Mango links to work Red.

Yes, I am fairly certain which job to take which is good!

BelligerentGhoul · 02/02/2011 21:17

Bloss - that sounds lovely. I'm a secondary English teacher and have done AND observed many an interview lesson in my time! :)

Bonsoir · 02/02/2011 21:17

I tried the Houlihans on with my navy silk Vanessa Bruno top and they looked great like that. Also have cream silk blouse from Sandro that will look good. Will root around for other ideas in my wardrobe when I have a moment. I want to wear the Houlihans to a very glam coffee morning/private sale this Friday (inc same glam school mothers who went to the Christmas breakfast at the Royal Monceau in December).

I have lots of Hermès scarves from years ago that are sitting unloved in my wardrobe. I keep thinking I should do something with them... but what?

KILDARE4 · 02/02/2011 21:17

Congats NY as they say 'we never doubted you'!

I am a Houlihan lover, I have worn mine loads and do find them flattering, but always with my socks down!I too also went up a size, but they do stretch.

Tracey love the items on your list, when I learn how to ebay I'll be able to buy even more Grin.

Feelingsensitive · 02/02/2011 21:18

Janice dress in navy sizes 12 and 16 £35

redllamayellowllama · 02/02/2011 21:20

Their website is annoying - a yellow 3/4 length sleeve day dress and a dress called Marilyn which is very 50's, about 3 pages in.
