New thread..

OP posts:
Zembo · 03/02/2011 06:26

Morning ladies. Thought I should update you. I was finally diagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy (nothing to do with original miscarriage) and I had no idea I was pregnant again. Anyway was very anaemic hence the collapse in the morning. Ended up having an emergency laparotomy yesterday (unfortunately they couldn't do it laparoscopically) and they had to remove a Fallopian tube. I lost a lot of blood in theatre and the op was more complicated than expected. Anyway REALLY hoping this will be the end of my pain. Having said this just realised my patient controlled analgesia thing has been unplugged all night. Was wondering why it didn't seem to do anything. Anyway giving myself shots of Morphine now Smile

Feelingsensitive · 03/02/2011 06:32

Zembo - I am new here so don't 'know' you as such but wanted to say I hope you get well soon. I am so sorry you are having such an awful time. Sending you some very un MN hugs.

Feelingsensitive · 03/02/2011 06:43

pickled - The links worked then. I couldnt get them to work.

I wasn't thinking of wearing the dresses to the interview I just thought they were nice. But having said that I will try a dress on today when I get my suit. Your post reminded me to take my shoes along to make sure it all matches though.

ItsNotUnusual · 03/02/2011 06:55

Zembo. Wishing you the very best. It's about time you had a change of luck x

blossoming · 03/02/2011 06:59

Morning all and thanks for your advice. I am wearing a Hanro vest today thanks for reminding me roary.
Russian oligarch's girlfriend? No stadium squall then Wink.
verity, I believe high waisted skinnies are called jeggings! My jbrand mid rise skinnies that tracey linked to are great.

zembo, your early morning post is missing. Hope you're okay. Lots of love and best wishes. xx

Romanholiday · 03/02/2011 08:29

NY will you be at BIS in London?

mrsjuan · 03/02/2011 08:30

Oh Zembo how horrible for you Sad Thanks for letting us know. Hope you feel better soon, take care x

notyummy · 03/02/2011 08:33

Roma - Mainly working around the East Midlands, but I think in London for meetings quite a lot.

monkeysmama · 03/02/2011 08:45

I wondered where you'd gone! Morning all.

PlumSykes · 03/02/2011 09:01

Very best love, Zembo. x

PlumSykes · 03/02/2011 09:02

Vin, saw this dress yesterday and thought of you. Would look good with a skinny contrast belt, I think.

monkeysmama · 03/02/2011 09:06

Zembo I am so, so sorry for you. I have been thinking about you a lot. I hope you're ok physically and emotionally. Nature and the human body can be such amazing things but when they let us down they seem to do it in such torturous ways. I'm so sorry.

roary · 03/02/2011 09:06

Frivolously: Red, do it yourself with the passport. Very easy. And really, really cheap.this site explains how and develops it for you for about £4.

Seriously: Zembo. Oh, Zembo. This requires a whole vat of salmon. I have had both laparoscopy and laparotomy (v severe endometriosis) and a laparatomy is a major operation, I hope you are all right and getting rest. DO they think the pain was actually the ectopic? V scary if the doctor missed it before. Also thought you might like to know I actually lost a fallopian tube and ovary and still managed to have two babies afterwards. PM me if you want to talk more.

monkeysmama · 03/02/2011 09:18

Well done NotYummy. That's great news!

Bonsoir they are the navy Houlians I've been looking at on line. Are they low rise on the waist? What foot wear are you thinking?

Bouncing I bf for a long time (2 years!) and stopped wearing bfing bras about 6 months in once everything had settled down. I went back to (albeit industrial strength) t shirt bras and it felt like going down a dress size. I have several Breton style tops and always tend to size up so they is a bit of bagginess to cover my muffinage. I wear a 34E/F even now but they don't look that big as long as they're covered up. Contrary to popular advice, I very rarely wear low cut tops as I look like either matronly or like a working girl. I always wear round / high necks.

Red & MrsJ as the resident Nudies expert I think they'll be too big. I am a 12 and wear a 29 in Nudies but worth a try as the different colours in the same style vary in fit.

I wear a lot of black and grey and am a big fan of leather Grin too.

My new Ash hi tops have transformed how I feel about my wardrobe. I don't know quite why but I think the slight heel combined with informal trainer style really works for me. They are laughed at by everyone that loves me but I don't care and feel I may've finally solved my life long comfortable shoe dilemma.

I am glad I started something with the Lottas. Hope they're nice!

Re eBay - if you have an iphone it's even easier than before. There is an eBay app which means you can take photos with your phone and upload them and the description in a few minutes. I usually get all the stuff ready, do a chart on some paper with item title & description (I find writing it all down at the start is so much easier when difficult people ask random sizing questions), then take the photos and upload it all. Never charge less than you're prepared to go to the PO for but not so much that people won't bother looking iyswim. My first few sales weren't brilliant but these last two times I sold everything I listed.

Dd has woken up in a really bad mood and keeps telling me things are "annoying" her. I think I'll take her to the park to burn off some energy & irritation before nap time.

Emo76 · 03/02/2011 09:19

Red I had my baby done at snappysnaps - they lie them on a cushion to take it. It was £10.

Zembo what a shocking time you have had, can only send you the very best get well wishes.

I am looking for some navy trousers for work - not high waisted but apart from that should really update my look away from Joseph style stretchy bootcuts. Any ideas gratefully received - I am 14/16 and 5 ft 9 with decent calves!

Feelinsensitive I'm hunting for workwear too. Agree that skirt looks promising.

Hope everyone has a nice day, am off to get stitches taken out of foot and return some baby stuff loaned from a friend - no shopping today!

Emo76 · 03/02/2011 09:20

Oh god can't believe I posted trousers twice....must preview..must preview!!! Am only looking for one pair....!

MarshaBrady · 03/02/2011 09:20

Oh Zembo. Take care, lots of love. (Hope they have hooked up the thing properly now!)

Need to catch up on other thread... back later-ish....

pickledsiblings · 03/02/2011 09:20

Zembo, so sorry that you are having to go through all of this. Hopefully Roary's words will help to ease your suffering a little.

Bonsoir · 03/02/2011 09:24

zembo - so sorry to hear about your ectopic and emergency op. I really hope the hospital and your family are treating you with all the care and attention you deserve.

monkeysmama - yes, the navy Houlihans are low rise on the waist. I've got some Tod's ankle boots I can wear them with for now, and a fab pair of Fratelli Rossetti über-high platform sandals from last summer for going out, but I really need some new day type footwear going into spring...

pickledsiblings - I don't mind the odd rock touch Wink. I'm so bored with jeans that I needed a change!

I need to do ironing (grrrrr) and mending (even worse) or else the Bonsoir household will not be up to its usual standards of S&B!
