New thread..

Bonsoir · 02/02/2011 21:24

fritzi - can you post of a pic of you à la Emmanuelle Alt? Sounds fab!

mrsjuan · 02/02/2011 21:29

Hi all,
Just marking my place having just skimmed last thread after getting in at 8.30pm after parents' evening having only had one parent bother to turn up to see me. Grrr. Are you sure you want t go back into teaching bloss? Wink interview outfit sounds perfect. Best of luck

Wow ny- well done! I've had the stomach cramps after exercise thing before- sympathies. How sweet of your dd though!

Zembo-poor, poor you. I hope you feel better soon and that you have some good luck soon.

Lovely links tracey. Love the Alex Monroe and the blouse is very pretty.

Red llama- what is the sizing like on the nudies? I am a 10 in topshop jeans. Would they fit me? I am the queen of niche sizes Grin Happy to give you some
money or do a donation to charity.

Fritzi skiing / reading sounds fab. Hope you have a wonderful time.

Have to say I also tried to do the Emmanuelle Alt thing today in back skinnies, black heels, grey silky blouse and black jacket.

Sorry for those I've missed out and welcome to the delurkers. Will try to catch up more tomorrow.

redllamayellowllama · 02/02/2011 21:35

Didn't realise you were also a teacher MrsJ. Have a feeling the Nudies will be a little big on you too; they run fairly true to size I've been belting them in and they're still needing to be hoiked up at regular intervals. My TS 10s are fitting me well. You're more than welcome to try them though - no money involved.

blossoming · 02/02/2011 21:35

Your outfit does indeed sound fab fritzi. I'm the same, dressing this way is reminding me of my student days in France - but with better hair!

Thanks belligerent

Fritzi love the sound of your outfit Smile

Bonsoir Envy at houlihans and vbruno. Scarves - sell them or turn them into cushions?

NY congratulations! I'm not a bit surprised though, you are a whirlwind, I bet they decided to offer you the job 5 mins into the interview. That does sound like a lot of fibre between breakfast and lunch, if it's more than you usually have your bowel may have gone into shock!

Bloss shame about the dress, but interview outfit sounds prefect, you need to feel comfortable and confident. Your dh and the match made me laugh, mine is just like that too. Insists on being there way too early, hassles the boys when they are going with him and then they are left sitting in the cold for ages. Can you wear layers? Glam suff underneath, warm on top, then capacious bag to hide the warm bits in when you're at the bar.

Kildare ebay is a doddle, but a bit tedious, I'll pass on my secrets at MU if you like!

Looby hope bath is soothing. I always machine wash silk, I'm too lazy to handwash.

hf128219 · 02/02/2011 21:51

Just marking my place - don't want to lose touch but it is moving so fast I can harldy keep up.

Zembo Hope you are on the mend. Poor you.

Bloss Good luck!

NY Fab news! Where will you be based?

Bonsoir Do people still tie scarves around their waists?

pickledsiblings · 02/02/2011 21:53

back in a miute when I finish reading old thread

VerityBrulee · 02/02/2011 21:53

How annoying MrsJ

Love all these EA outfits, it's a very empowering look I think. Remember Ros from Spooks always wore that look( albeit not quite as glam) and she always got what she wanted!

I have a jeans problem. A: I cannot get along with low rise jeans, they ALWAYS fall off me. Some problem with my waist/hip ratio I think. And B: I cannot bring myself to spend hundreds on a pair. I don't know whay as I'd happily spend that on a scarf.

So I nipped into Topshop today, didn't bother with Baxters, had them in 2 sizes, kept slipping down, so ebayed them. Tried on Jamies, not right for me, but the denim is fantastic, so soft, v v nice. The ones that really fitted and flattered were Kirsten tried them in Navy, but the corset effect top is putting me off. On the other hand, I never tuck tops in so the top would be hidden anyway. Might go back tomorrow.

Are there holy grail high waisted skinnies that are worth the money?

notyummy · 02/02/2011 22:00

HF- still in Nottingham, although covering East Mids with frequent trips to London. I may end up changing jobs AGAIN in a few months when DH finishes the course, but will cross that bridge when I come to it!

FritziGreenEyes · 02/02/2011 22:10

Ah bonsoir, maybe some other time. Today's outfit is already in the laundry basket and I'm in PJs. Tops to go with houlis sound fab. Are you going to wear heels or flats for glam coffee morning? If you are not emotionally attached to the hermes scarves I would keep maybe one or two and sell the rest.

Verity those jeans really are high-waisted. Have you tried mid-rise ones?

mrsjuan · 02/02/2011 22:17

Red hmm - they sound like they might be a little big then. Hope you find a home for them. Yes, I teach in a special school - very different to mainstream and I love it really - just a bit boring being stuck there until so late with nothing to do except a quick h&m order.

DTI10 · 02/02/2011 22:18

Catching up again. The last thread has whizzed by so quickly.

Zembo - I really hope you are ok. Please look after yourself and take some rest when you can.

MM Sad for you.

Traceyb so glad you found your earring.

Bloss - Best of luck for the interviews.

ny - Many congratulations to you on securing two positions. Brilliant news.

TheAllNewOoooh · 02/02/2011 22:18

Well, ladies, there's going to be a whole lotta Lottas on this thread. Order duly placed, thanks for enabling me Grin

Sat in my new Marant blouse which I love.

Verity What are your dimensions? I'm a fan of Paige Hidden Hills jeans which are good for curves. They aren't that high, they just have one extra button. The denim is very firm, good for holding in me belly - but I suspect those aren't your issues?

Looby sorry you've had a dose of the vomiting lurgy. My DS has had it too but the good news is that it looks like it is strictly a 24 hour thing so hopefully the worst will be over tomorrow.

Where's Cake? Missing her and the links to sequins, killer heels and party frocks. Hope she's ok.

pickledsiblings · 02/02/2011 22:19

NY, great news about the jobs - clever girl.

Bonsoir, those trews are most definitately rock chick and not intello-romantique. VBing them up may make them rock-romantic, where's your 'intello' gone Grin?

roary · 02/02/2011 22:23

Zooming in to say Bloss: rugby.

Hanro silk/wool thermals. You need them. They rock. My entire family were complaining that the house was freezing the other day and I was BOILING with just the camisole. Get the leggings and the top and you'll be great!

I got mine from here but can't recall speed of delivery.

VerityBrulee · 02/02/2011 22:36

Oooh I'm 8-10 but my waist is small reltaive to my hips/ thighs. I think that's the problem! Will have a look at the Paige, thanks.

Fritzi will have a look at mid-rise too. Jeans and bras are the only things I don't enjoy shoping for, there's too much choice and too much trying on.

I love those braided Lottas, they are identical to my Hasbeens. I think I'll get the nude colour, but I'll wait a while as I doubt I'll be wearing them for 6 months at least.

Im missing Cake too

pickledsiblings · 02/02/2011 22:37

Ooooh, love that IM blouse, what are you wearing underneath it?

traceybath · 02/02/2011 22:37

Right off to bed but Zembo - hope you're ok

Bloss - I'd channel Esher - think Russian Oligarch's girlfriend Wink Suspects thats pretty close to my own style Smile

hf128219 · 02/02/2011 22:37

Oooh Love your blouse. Is it all cotton?

NY Great. Remember the CS has the 'spouse following spouse' priority ruling for postings. Basically dh gets posted and you get first (almost) dibs on a vacancy in that vicinity.

Some nice things in Red this month. Good looking Breton in P8 - not on site yet.

Also mention of this shop as good for Bretons.

And a £25 gift card for Hobbs - but can't see anything on site yet that takes my fancy - card valid til May though I think.

TheAllNewOoooh · 02/02/2011 22:52

LOL at "what are you wearing underneath it"! Grin

Obviously I keep all my Myla and La Perla numbers in a beautiful box which I decorated when I got engaged, so instead I'm wearing an aged grey tank underneath. Worked well with a white camisole when I tried it on earlier. It's very easy.

And yes, all cotton.

pickledsiblings · 02/02/2011 23:04

GrinGrin

AllBuggiedOut · 02/02/2011 23:06

but off to epilate before bed in readiness for Selfridges tomorrow. Night all.

redllamayellowllama · 02/02/2011 23:12

Look forward to de-brief and links ABO - enjoy.

Any SE-Londoners know where one can get a baby's passport picture taken? Amidst all this holiday wardrobe planning, have forgotten a rather crucial element Blush.

pickledsiblings · 02/02/2011 23:22

Feelingsensitive, those Oasis dresses look good. If you are thinking of one of those for your interview is there any way you could try them on with your interview shoes and jacket before you buy. You don't want to make the same mistake that Bloss made.

TheAllNewOoooh · 02/02/2011 23:23

These photographers in East Dulwich get decent write ups on the local forum and they charge £10 for baby passport photos.
