Thank you...apparently he does not require any more care than other children the same age...but he does!

His nursery are going to write me a letter to submit as additional evidence highlighting the support he gets there and point out how when he transitions to school in September it is all being handled by the SENCO with support from the local send team at the council

Heey can u tell me how coc’s work? My son is due for his renewal in December, however his care needs have increased day & night, do they open up the claim again im
confused and also can they lower the amount or override the original decision to a no decision

Hi Everyone, Ive been following this thread for a while, does anyone know roughly what scan dates they are currently working through? Mine is a new claim scan date 28/05

I sent my sons and recieved message to say they recieved them on 05/06/26, I called just to see where it was at and was told it’s not been allocated yet and that the 20 week time frame is no longer a thing and to ignore it, said it could take longer as theres a large back log! I was hopeful seeing all the quick turn arounds but not anymore.. I found them to be very rude and arrogant on the phone x

Is the scan date the same as the text you get to say they’ve received it? Sent special recorded and got the text the next day.

How long are COC taking to process atm?

Looks like we have been accepted. Scan date 29/05. Pending bank payment of £535, no idea what that means we’ve been awarded, any ideas?

Received Directions Notice today and DWP have to respond to the appeal by 30th July - not much of an update but moving forward slowly

Sent off for MR as my DDs claim was turned down. Sent some new evidence so hoping that helps. Think it now takes ages looking through what other people have said about waiting times. Feels really unfair, I would love to use the money on a few private treatments for her that she really would benefit from.

Finally filled in our COC form today, do we know how long they’re currently taking? A year or two ago it was nearly 6 months! 🙈

Anyone else put a new claim in around 14th May? I still haven't heard anything. Have rang a few times and they say not yet with a decision maker. I don't understand how some from June are already getting approved?

Had my letter today was rejected only took 6 weeks. Does anyone know how long mr are taking? I may just do a whole new claim if it’s faster. So annoyed because even his nursery state how much harder he is than an average child his age x

I think MR are about 3 months (or were).

At least get a statement of reasons even if you do a new claim. It'll show you where more info may be needed for the new claim.

DS' DLA has (thankfully) been renewed. Due 24.07, scanned 30.06, decision made (MRC/LRM) 09.07. Award until PIP is needed (2031).

Any new claims from early June had a decision yet? Seen people saying new claims are currently taking between 5-6 weeks so just trying to see where they might be up to :)

New claim scanned 15/6/26. No news yet.

@ThisFastGoldReader nc as well scanned on the 16/6 not heard anything either. Seems like nc are slowing down again

Hi, i sent in a new claim on Saturday and had a message today to say they received the form. Does anyone know how long the new claims are taking? In the text it says it could take up to 25 weeks 🤦‍♀️. And sorry to sound stupid but what is a scanned date?

@Tiredmum1223 I think the text is the scan date. I didn’t get a text I did put my number on. I got a letter saying they will look at my claim as soon as possible.

Nc scan date 12 June they made a decision on the 22 july and I had backpay in bank yesterday so it didn't take long
