My children were verified 3weeks ago on uc, had a message saying they agreed to backpay but heard nothing since! I’ve heard so many conflicting things about what I could be entitled to on uc since winning my sons case at appeal, it’s been going on for 20mths now, I know I’ve waited ages already but now I know payment is coming I’m feeling very impatient, just out of curiosity to see what my son will get more than anything

Hiya, you should get a message on your journal with a letter attached confirming the amount, maybe give them a ring with it being 3 weeks since they agreed back pay as it should if been done by now.

Hey, when we got awarded our claim they backdated every month that we missed due to DLA issue, so it might take UC a while but they should in theory backdate all 20 months

Lordvampire3 · 17/02/2026 09:24

COC - Scan Date 5th Nov. Do we know where we are with COC?

Thank you, I did put a message in my journal yesterday morning but have been completely ignored. My new statement will be on my account tomorrow so was hoping it would be done. I’m just more curious to see what I’ll get because I’ve been told two completely different things

Yeh, I’m assuming it’s just because it’s being backdated so far, will be time to reapply before I even get my fist uc payment 😆

I got ignored when i asked in the journal as well so i rang them, i think once you call them they have to respond in the journal within 48 hours i think it is.
Hopefully its all sorted soon for you.

I’m exactly the same, I think I might give next week and ask for an estimate of when it will be completed

How long have you been waiting?

I called DLA today to see where the MR is at, scan date 24oct still not allocated to any case worker. I questioned as why as my other child’s was 29 dec and desicon was made 2feb, makes no sense think there just picking and choosing,

3amazinkids · 17/02/2026 14:26

I hate this whole system, it’s completely flawed! The fight I’ve had to put up for my son is ridiculous and I’m guessing it’s mainly because the disease he has isn’t in their ‘guide’, that’s bad enough but then to be kept waiting for as long as some of us have been just to be met with rude people on the end of the phone just makes it worse! The system would be easier if it was all online where we could find updates and upload evidence etc, would probably make things easier for them too and speed up the whole process

Hi guys. I did a COC for my son end of September. Got a decision end of January. There was no change in rates but award was extended.
I was planning on doing an MR but have managed to get some extra evidence and have sent that in.
Dla have said rather than treat it as an MR it can be treated as late evidence instead and it will be sent back to the original decision maker to look at again.
Has anyone else done this? If so how long did it take roughly for another decision?

ForKindDeer · 17/02/2026 15:11

hey, anyone had any updates on renewals? Thanks xx

I’m waiting on renewal for 2nd April, seen quite a few on Facebook done for mid and late April but they all seem to have sent forms back early on

Mines end of April, but sent back in January not heard anything apart from a letter saying they’ve received it x

I was told they had agreed to backpay on the 28th jan but I first informed uc on 19th jan. I just assumed it would be done in time for next payment

Oh what did they say to agree to it? All I have is them saying they’ve sent it to a decision maker on the 20th, what does yours say?

it’s all so confusing, which is awful considering this is about children and their needs were talking about!!

It was a message in my journal saying I had a letter to read then it just said they had agreed to backpay under special circumstances because it was past a certain date then I’ll receive another letter in my journal saying how much and when!
I totally agree, it’s shocking! I had to borrow £1300 6mth ago to pay for a new staircase that my son could manage, they don’t seem to care that we need this money for our children and their basic needs

Okay I should chase up for that!!

see that should never of happened! Should have to fight for your child when money and grants should be readily available so he can have things like staircases that are accessible!! I Hope they reply soon so you can have that money back!

Sent my daughter's renewal form off in December. Received 22/12.
Claim ends on 17/4
Still not heard anything back yet
Called on Friday and was told still in the holding qué!
So it's been 8.weeks today'l for me... Probably will get left til last minute
What's your scan date?

allthenamesitriedweretaken · 17/02/2026 17:13

I posted on the other thread, not sure which one is more likely to run so just copy and pasting!

Can I tentatively join? I haven't yet sent off the forms but plan to imminently - just need to print of paediatric report. I hadn't realised that Ds may be eligible - he's recently been diagnosed with combined ADHD but it's didn't occur to me. Filling in the form has made me realise how much "extra" we do for him, bit worried I've underestimated timings!
It also confused me as to why so many of you were having scans done on your children before I realised what it actually meant 😳
