you could ring and ask, seen quite a lot of people ringing and being told if they’ve been awarded or not

I did, they said the decision was made 3rd June but they can't tell me what the decision was. I tried to ring back, was on hold for 42 mins and then I think they closed. The 3rd was last Wednesday and Ive seen people say that payments come in 3-5 days 😞

Yeah I’ve read that also!, maybe wait and check again in morning if nothing id take it as a no. You think they’d just tell you over the phone though. I know there’s some options you can press but not sure what they are

It was a no. Received the letter today.
not sure what to do next really.

You could go for a MR, ring them and explain you don’t agree with their decision and go from there x

Chloe1233 · 12/06/2026 08:14

How long are new claims taking right now.

Thanks, I’ve done this and I’m gathering some extra evidence.

How long are new claims taking right now.

My new claim scan date was 29 April and decision made 3 June.

How long are new claims taking right now.

My scan date was 30th April and decision initially made 01/06; added information given to DM on 04/06 and claim decision revised 08/06.

Ring and request a statement of reasons; once you’ve received that tell them you wish to have an MR and gather any additional evidence that proves why your child is eligible against their reasons why claim was declined. Don’t forget you only have a month from them telling claim was declined to request an MR and they’re taking up to 35 weeks to review them.

LovedFedAndNoonesDead · 12/06/2026 11:48

After requesting a “revision of official error” for the date claim was accepted and backdated to; I got the original decision letter on Monday awarding DS MRC/LRM; rang to see if there had been a decision on the revision and, while they declined to backdate the claim to when we requested the claim form in March, we asked for it to be looked at because home visiting team from dwp took claim form before deadline meaning I wasn’t able to control returning it to DLA - their reason for saying no was that, just because it was in possession of dwp, they hadn’t scanned it and no guarantee it would have been scanned before the deadline!

However, when the DM looked at the evidence for backdating claim, he also looked at the additional evidence sent in and decided we have provided enough evidence of nighttime needs to increase claim from MRCLRM to HRC/LRM and gave award for 5 years, until day before his 12th birthday. I updated our Uc account on Tuesday and they have sent it to a DM to backdate carers and disabled child elements. They sent a To Do asking us to explain whether his disability means he can’t share a bedroom and they’ve also increased our housing element to 3 beds not 2!

All in all a very positive outcome!

Did anyone receive payment before the text or did anyone get payment without a text? Heard a variety of story’s. Just looking to watch out for getting closer as I’ve seen people with scan dates 13/05 getting decisions and mines the 18/05

Got payment last Thursday and, up to then, the only text I’d had was on 30/04 when they scanned the claim form in.

Thank you. I’ve phoned up and asked for this. It’s a bit frustrating that their letter is dated 3rd June and I received it 11 June which automatically takes 8 days off the month I have to gather the further evidence. Anyway, I shall do what I can. It’s so frustrating, I really thought I’d put everything essential into the original form. It was a lot easier when I claimed for my older child and she was awarded straight away, but her needs are arguably less than my younger DD.

You don’t have to have submitted any additional evidence within the 30 days, just request the MR. Then you have time to gather the evidence before they review the claim alongside the additional evidence.

Hey, form requested late March, sent to them early May. Had confirmation this week of MRC/LRM with backpay xx
