Thanks everyone. Just called to get more forms and they have received it with a scan date of the 14th

That's a relief for you!

Hi I sent a new claim on 6/05. I called last week and they said they haven't received it. How long roughly should it take for them to receive and scan? Thank you.

If freepost it took a month for us to be told they received it.

I would fill out another form, I sent mine 18/05 and it was scanned on 20/05.

If she posted it freepost it can take a while!

Hi everyone
What dates is everyone up to with MR? Mines February.

My MR date is 31/12/25 I had a call Friday that they’re actively looking at it and should have a decision by end of today, that was Friday I was told that.

Hey there,

This is my first time claiming and it’s for my DD 12. I sent the NC and the SD was 14/05/26. Does anyone have an idea of how long NCs are taking at the minute? Also I sent the forms back around 5 days before the deadline, I just posted as normal no special delivery etc. The SD was weeks after the deadline, does this mean if awarded we won’t receive backpay? I’ve found the whole process very nerve wracking if I’m honest.

TIA

My first time claiming to. I have been reading the DLA Facebook page and some are saying they’ve had a decision in 3-4 weeks and some are saying months. Not sure about the back pay though, sorry!

Hi
the same has happened to me. I sent the forms free post (1st April) and the scan date is 29th April. So I missed the deadline which was 8th April and wish I had sent them signed for. Any back pay will only be to the scan date in this case.

It was 4 weeks for my daughters (SD 1st May), they may not backdate it though. My sons CoC was scanned the day after the cut off but I'd sent it recorded delivery and knew it'd been delivered 5 days before the SD. I called and explained I had the tracking details and the woman I spoke to added a note stating it had arrived before the scan date. His CoC was backdated to the date I'd called for the forms.

Maybe call and see if you get someone helpful who may add a note? Anything you send in the future, use one of the tracked deliveries x

NC - SD 30/04

Spoke to the DLA helpline yesterday to inform them I’d sent additional evidence (appointment letter from his last SALT review; week long diary detailing care support given day and night to show how it’s significantly more than other kids his age) and a copy of the receipt letter from DWP home visiting team officer stating she took the application form with her 10 days before deadline so that, if we’re successful in the claim, they will consider backdating to day I phoned for form rather than only to SD (a difference of 8 weeks!) as I had no opportunity to influence how the form was sent and assume it was through internal postal system meaning SD was outside the deadline even though it was already in DWP possession.

Anyway, the call handler said the claim form was with a case worker so she would put a note on the system to say we had sent additional
information and she said they would hopefully wait to receive that before making their decision on the claim.

Hi,
NC SD 8th May, has anyone with similar date had a decision yet?

JoyousMauveBear · Yesterday 13:01

Just received a letter from DLA asking for birth certificate but cannot find it anywhere!, I have ordered a replacement, would it be best if I rang them go inform them of this or it wouldn’t matter?

LovedFedAndNoonesDead · Today 06:51

NC
SD - 30/04

Received £428 in bank today - looks like they’ve awarded MRC &LRM from 30/04/26.

Not sure if that means they looked at, but disregarded the evidence I sent in on Monday showing DWP home visiting team took claim form away on 07/04; letter from SALT team and 7 day diary of input day and night to show his additional needs, or whether they didn’t receive them in time (have been told for payment to be received today, they must have sent it Monday, in which case, they’ve not had the extra evidence in front of them).

Going to call them this morning to confirm the award date is same as scan date and ask for statement of means; also been advised to ask whether they will accept the additional evidence sent in without doing a full MR or if we need to request MR.

If they won’t look at extra evidence or backdate without doing an MR, what are current time frames for that to be done?
