DLA waiting times 2022

Hi All,

I have ASD 2 years old boy and i sent DLA form for him in 7 dec 2021. But I haven’t received any news yet. How long is usually you get awarded?

The thing is i want to put my son in 2 years old nursery but i’m not eligible for 2 years old funding. I found the nursery that i like and my son can start there after easter but they want funding from the government.

There are another way to get funded by government is via DLA. I need to get the DLA first then i can apply for funding 2 years old in nursery. Do you know how is the process for apply funding 2 years old through DLA route??

I sent my little boys in early December. Received a letter stating they received on the 7th Dec and to call if I hadn’t heard anything in 8 weeks. I’d ring if you’ve not received a letter. I haven’t heard anything else to date.

Hi, I sent mine 25th Nov it was received on the 26th. Had a letter to say they had received my application and then a further letter dated 12th January to say they apologise its taking longer than expected. Apparently they are really behind and it's taking around 10-11 weeks. Hope you hear soon

Hi all I sent my application back on the 8th November they received it on the 12th of November I called on Friday an they were working on 9th November so I’m hoping to hear this week good luck all.

Our form was received on the 13th December and they wrote to me on the 16th to tell me if I hadn’t heard anything in 8 weeks to get back in touch with them.

I rang yesterday and they said they was working on Cases from 15th November although mine was received on the 12th, but still not heard anything! I’m not holding out much hope because I couldn’t print any of his reports to send with it, he’s 7 and we’re just going through an autism/adhd diagnosis, x

Hi, new to this thread. I sent my sons off 8th November they scanned it on the system in the 16th nov. I’ve rung up once a week to be told different things 2 weeks ago I was told they were working on first week of November and mine should be another 2 weeks. Then last week I was told to call again this week so I called today and was told they are working on the end of Octobers and I should expect another 3/4 weeks waiting. I feel like calling back to check with someone else in case the lady got it wrong but I just give up now it’s been 10 weeks of waiting!!

Hi Charlie i called them this morning they scanned mine on 12th November I rang this morning an mines with the decision maker but said could be another 2 weeks… if I were you I’d ring monday afternoon as they are working weekends too good luck x

@lea010809 it’s so weird why they are saying different things. I’m panicking I just want to know yes or no !

Same I’m actually on hold to them right now! I’ll let you know what they say

I was told I’d have a decision by today an then I called this morning an now saying 2 weeks plus so I’m calling again because they aren’t telling the truth

My application is 7th december so its still awhile for me then 🥲🥲

@NRRK28 I’d say 4 weeks it’s such a nightmare never known it like this before! Fingers crossed you for.

Lea010809 yeah let me know! It’s such a stressful experience. NRRK28 yes most likely a while still I don’t think the 10 weeks timeframes are accurate.

Hi I just called back an she said they are working from the 3rd of November but last week they said 8th I’ve give up now they don’t tell the truth it’s so stressful! She said the lady last week shouldn’t of told me the 8th as they have no access to dates… to which I replied well how come you’ve just told me the 3rd! They make it up as they go along I’m not calling again I’ll just wait till I get a letter whenever that will be 😥

It’s so frustrating, I’ll let you know if I hear anything but my marker now will be when you hear as your a week before me . Hopefully won’t be much longer if mine gets rejected it’s the time it will take to review and then appeal that I’m dreading! Being negative today

Our form was submitted 10 weeks and 3 days ago. It's again claim. Still no decision.

I spoke to my friend her claim was dealt with on 4th of jan an she got payment 11th jan, her claim was stamped on 27th October x

Lea010809 oh ok so they must be working on early November now then surely we are next I should imagine now then. I’ve applied for my son who has learning difficulties and adhd. We are in the assessment stage of obtaining (hopefully) an EHCP I’m so nervous they aren’t going to think it’s enough to claim. I tried my best with the form sent in some evidence etc but you just never know!!

@Charlie201526 try not to worry my son gets dla an I was awaiting a ehcp he was awarded it we finally got a ehcp, changing the subject but if your son doesn’t get his ehcp please appeal it 9 times out of 10 they accept the appeal fingers crossed for you an your son x

@Lea010809 I have read that appeals are normally won with EHCP so if it does end up being turned down this gives me hope that it will work out in the end.

Does anyone know if you don’t send off any docs will they call the school/docs? My son has had several assessments and has a EHCP but I was unable to print any of it!

I know I’m crazy but I just called again and was assured they are working on the 9th of November now. He said they have a list on what they are currently working on so she said to give them another call beginning of next week but hopefully I’ll have a text week after anyway.
