Hi All,

I have ASD 2 years old boy and i sent DLA form for him in 7 dec 2021. But I haven’t received any news yet. How long is usually you get awarded?

The thing is i want to put my son in 2 years old nursery but i’m not eligible for 2 years old funding. I found the nursery that i like and my son can start there after easter but they want funding from the government.

There are another way to get funded by government is via DLA. I need to get the DLA first then i can apply for funding 2 years old in nursery. Do you know how is the process for apply funding 2 years old through DLA route??

Thank you

Our renewal pack was sent back and received by them 13th Nov. I called on Friday and they confirmed award over the phone. Their decision was only made 4 days before his claim was due to end. Renewals are being taken right to the wire….was told that they aren’t even being looked at till the week before they are due to end. Absolutely rubbish as it’s meant 3 months of unnecessary anxiety/insomnia for me! Hope you hear soon

Anyone who the application on early december got news yet??. My application is on the 2nd of dec. but no news yet.

@Emma94xx that’s enough evidence, I only sent in confirmation of my son being referred to child development and he was 18m so I worried it would be harder to
Prove due to age we got MR care and told we would be able to claim HR mobility when he is 3.

clairedavey · 16/02/2022 08:11

@NRRK28 mine is also 2nd December but nothing yet as of tomorrow it will be the 11 weeks mark so should be anytime soon all the anxiety of waiting is horrible

Hi I’m new to the thread, decisions for those up to 7th December is that the Wolverhampton office please? They received ours on 17th jan so I’ve got ages to wait it seems! Good luck x

Abwill · 17/02/2022 10:06

Im on hooks which seems so silly but this could make such a difference to our family as im.guessing it can to most good look everyone we are 11 weeks tomorrow fingers crossed for you all that our children get the help they deserve ! X

BerylSilverstone · 17/02/2022 10:13

@clairedavey thank you x
This is our third time claiming, I first applied Jan 2019 and we had a decision in 4 weeks and got a 2 year award, did renewal end of 2020 and had a decision in 3 weeks for a 12 month award. My son is 8 and has learning difficulties but nothing diagnosed and everything has been held up with covid.
We had just had a new baby last year when they sent the renewal pack out and I had a few medical issues around the birth and was so distracted I let the award expire by about 2 weeks so I think this has gone in as a new claim. I know they say 8 weeks or so but previously we’ve always been sorted in about 4!
Sorry to hear you are on week 11, that is so nerve-wracking! Best of luck for next week.

clairedavey · 17/02/2022 12:34

@NRRK28 @BerylSilverstone something told me to call them today and this morning we had our reward accepted but payment in account in few days so 2nd December has been done today yes it has been a super stressful 11 weeks of my life. He had no official diagnosis but is now on a cahms waiting list so feel it only all up good luck all who are waiting

kitamummy3 · 17/02/2022 13:07

Hello I'm new hear I got my sons from sent to me on the 6 of December sent it back on the 11 of January for it to be sent back to me on the 2 of February because I forgot to sign the declaration and they gave me till the 16 of February to get it back because I would lose money if not and sent it back in the 7 they received it the 8 and to be told on Monday it was with the decision maker and then yesterday to be told it wasn't it's going to take 10 weeks but it's already bin 10 weeks since I claimed for the form it's really stressing me out now when your being told to different things

BerylSilverstone · 17/02/2022 13:53

@clairedavey fab news x
@kitamummy3 I’m the same, I feel nervous about it. Hope it goes well for you.

kitamummy3 · 17/02/2022 14:05

@BerylSilverstone thanks and I hope yours goes well when did you send yours off because surely because I forgot to sigh declaration it shouldn't take another ten weeks because if that's the case and my son gets awarded then they will have to back date it 20 weeks and they won't do that

BerylSilverstone · 17/02/2022 14:27

@kitamummy3 they received mine on 17th Jan.
Exactly it shouldn’t take another 10 weeks because the declaration wasn’t signed. You’ve signed it now and I can’t see a reason why just having to check something is now signed could add 10 weeks! Surely takes them a minute to check it’s been signed. I don’t think you will wait a further 10 weeks for a reason like that. x

CoffeeFirstPlease · 17/02/2022 14:34

Mine was due back on the 1st of Dec I called them in Oct/Nov I believe but due to covid and isolation I didn't manage to send it off on time so it was late so they received it 21st December. Do you think I should have explained this on the form? Or will they just backdate to when it was scanned?

Melissamarie789 · 17/02/2022 15:32

@BerylSilverstone if they haven’t done it and you got it back by the date stamped they have to. They backdated one of my sons from 24/7 - 7/11

kitamummy3 · 17/02/2022 16:10

@BerylSilverstone that's what I fort I'm going to give them a ring and see what they say today as I was told in Monday that it was with a decision maker on Friday a decision will be made 1 day this week and then yesterday said it wernt with a decision maker

Melissamarie789 · 18/02/2022 04:56

@CoffeeFirstPlease it really depends on the decision maker I sent back both claim forms same day the one that reached them like 2 days after the date stamped didn’t get backdated to July just to when they got it in the September but my other sons one which appearntly reached them later they back dated 😂🤷🏼‍♀️ So it’s always worth trying to get it sent in plenty of time I was so annoyed.

BerylSilverstone · 18/02/2022 08:59

@kitamummy3 hope you get your decision soon. I don’t think they will put it back by 10 weeks because you forgot to sign, I think it will be with the decision maker at this point.

Hope we all get a nice decision maker x

Abwill · 19/02/2022 14:09

Amyxkx · 19/02/2022 14:28
