Hi All,

I have ASD 2 years old boy and i sent DLA form for him in 7 dec 2021. But I haven’t received any news yet. How long is usually you get awarded?

The thing is i want to put my son in 2 years old nursery but i’m not eligible for 2 years old funding. I found the nursery that i like and my son can start there after easter but they want funding from the government.

There are another way to get funded by government is via DLA. I need to get the DLA first then i can apply for funding 2 years old in nursery. Do you know how is the process for apply funding 2 years old through DLA route??

Thank you

@lea010809 oh god I don’t even want to ring now I’ll give them a call Wednesday see what they say. I don’t see why they all say different things why are they not all saying the same information across the contact centre.

Amyxkx · 03/02/2022 08:58

My daughters was received 29/10/2021 still not heard anything I last rang before Xmas they said it’s taking 16/17 weeks

Amyxkx · 03/02/2022 09:00

I’ve not heard anything yet and my daughters forms were received 29/10/2021 she’s already in receipt of HRC I’ve applied for mobility it’s apparently taking 16/17 weeks

Charlie201526 · 03/02/2022 09:13

@Amyxkx wow god that’s insane have you chased them up ? It took me for a new claim 11 weeks then payment 3 days after decision was made.

Amyxkx · 03/02/2022 10:46

I’ve just rang up, they said her claim is classed as a change of circumstances and that they are taking upto 17 weeks, they are working on claims from 2/10/2021 now, they said new claims taking upto 10 weeks it’s crazy

Charlie201526 · 03/02/2022 11:02

@Amyxkx that is crazy my sons claim is till nov 2023 so I guess I’ll face the same thing then when I renew. Another lady on her was waiting for her renewal decision past the end date of her current claim. Hopefully won’t be much longer for you now

CoffeeFirstPlease · 03/02/2022 12:49

I called today to ask about sending in new evidence as wasn't sure if they return it or not and they said send photocopies.

They said its 10weeks for new claims. I doubt I'll get it and probably can't be bothered with the MR I only have the school report and her referral letter for her paediatric appointment I have no other evidence to send but I guess we will see.

Ray568 · 03/02/2022 12:57

My son awarded as well exactly within 11 weeks. Just rang them yesterday Afternoon. [Smile

Sjf1398 · 04/02/2022 09:45

My application for a new claim was received 14.12.21, it’s only been 7.5 weeks. Anybody a rough idea of how fast they’re getting through them right now? As I can see previous posters have been told 10 weeks, but looking at others who have had a decision in the past few days sent theirs a month before mine... the waiting and not knowing is so stressful😩

Charlie201526 · 04/02/2022 11:21

Sjf1398 looks like myself and most other posters were at the 11 week mark when we called and they gave it over the phone. So I’d say try in 3 weeks
