6 stone to lose. Help!

Hi everyone,
Just looking for encouragement and support. Starting a new group tomorrow. 10 years ago I had a successful stint and lost 3 stone in 6 months. Had lots of unsuccessful goes since then but I really have to make it work this time. Got foot surgery coming up so it's a medical requirement as much as for confidence and general health.
I would just love to "chew the fat" ...😂 Ha ha, not literally!!!... with other new starters.

Hi, I just started SW last week so am still getting my head round it all.
I must admit, after coming home from group I felt so overwhelmed that I put it all to one side and ignored it until Sunday night. Not a good start!
But now I’ve read through it, I think I’ve got the gist, and quite looking forward to the challenge.

BirdSanctuary · 26/10/2021 12:51

@SylviaTrench it definitely takes at least a week to get head round it. Be kind to yourself and acknowledge every little step in right direction.
Good luck!!
Let us know how your weigh in goes. Smile

Hi, thanks for asking, I’ve lost 3lb so am happy with that.
Have you been to your new group yet?

BirdSanctuary · 27/10/2021 20:12

Well done @SylviaTrench!
I would love that loss next week. Joined this morning and had a good day. Hoping motivation keeps up!

Hello, can I join you!?
I also have 6 to lose. Have been on SW for 3 weeks and am down 12.5lbs.
Although I’m on holiday this week so fully expecting to put some back on but back on it when I get home at the weekend!
Hope you had a good experience at your new group.

BirdSanctuary · 28/10/2021 09:18

@Pipperleen
Yes, join us!!
12.5 lbs in 3 weeks!! Your stone is right there within reach! I have to be honest... I beam like a kid getting an award in assembly when I get a certificate so really can't wait for that first half stone. And the shiny sticker!! Star
Sounds like your holiday won't do too much damage if you're as motivated as you seem. Good luck!

Hi Pippaleen, yes please join us. 12.5 loss is amazing 🙌🏻 you must be thrilled with that.

SylviaTrench · 28/10/2021 16:57

Sorry for spelling your username wrong

Pipperleen · 28/10/2021 19:40

@SylviaTrench thank you, I really am pleased!

BirdSanctuary · 03/11/2021 21:21

Hi everyone,
First weigh in this morning. Had a 3 lbs loss which I'm pleased with. Had cocktails and a steak sandwich on Saturday afternoon so managed to claw that back.
Especially delighted with myself too though because it was very difficult to get to group today and I made sure I made it. Also chose well at a cafe at lunch and side stepped rest of family's chippy tea. Feeling strong! Hope it lasts another week. I would love my half stone next week and I know I can do it!
Hope everyone else doing well this week.

go for a run lad

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 07/11/2021 18:47

That's useful ballontea. I don't think anyone would have thought of that, without you helpfully suggesting it Hmm

LittleDoritt · 10/11/2021 13:51

Hello! I'm another one with six stone (and maybe a half more) to lose. I just started this week and got 5.5lbs off which I was well pleased with.

Well done on your losses @BirdSanctuary and @SylviaTrench.

@Pipperleen that is amazing!! If I manage that in my first month I'll be chuffed, let alone three weeks.

Pipperleen · 10/11/2021 15:08

Hi everyone!
Hope you’re all ok, on waters and downwards and all that.

I managed to get away with just 2lbs on after our week away. Sounds a lot but I really wasn’t thinking about it at all and just enjoyed myself - ice creams in the rain, etc etc!!

Back on it now, next weigh in on Thursday!

ItsABlizzardHarry · 10/11/2021 15:14

Hi, just wanted to wish you luck.

I've lost 50lbs in the last 15 weeks and it's mentally incredibly hard. I have to lose 7 stones total.

Well done on your loses so far!

LittleDoritt · 12/11/2021 14:15

Thank you @ItsABlizzardHarry. 50lbs is phenomenal. What has been the worst "mentally incredibly hard" bit? Just keeping going?

Wilma55 · 13/11/2021 10:40

2lb off this week and got my half stone award (8lb in 5 weeks). I'm a slow loser! I've had a lot of potatoes this week so wasn't expecting 2 off. The group is doing Christmas jumpers next week! In November.....

Pipperleen · 13/11/2021 12:28

That’s fab @Wilma55!
Our group is doing a points thing where if you wear something Christmassy, your team gets 100 extra points. Can’t quite bring myself to do it yet… Grin

1lb off for me, which was a surprise to be honest, I haven’t been in the zone at all. Hoping for 2.5 over this week so I can get my stone… fingers crossed.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 13/11/2021 14:20

Hi All. Can I join you? I've been doing it about 10 weeks, got a stone off so far. I'm really pleased with that, but the losses are coming slower now. I find it pretty good, but really miss my cake! I'm going to make the SW banana cake soon, but need to either give some away, or freeze some.

LeftyLou · 16/11/2021 11:14

Hi, may I join please? I am starting on SW tomorrow evening. I am nervous exicted. I have done it before a few years ago and managed about 10 lbs off. (Which is all back on and then some and more) I am very determined to get this weight off now!

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 16/11/2021 15:43

Hi All. Hi @LeftyLou. From what I can work out, SW is much more flexible now than it used to be, so I haven't found it too hard tbh. Just missing cake! But if I could be bothered, I'd make the banana SW cake.

LittleDoritt · 17/11/2021 21:02

Hiya all.
Hope you got on alright tonight LeftyLou.
Well done on your stone SpongeBob.
3lbs off for me this week so I got my first shiny sticker. Grin It's ridiculous that stickers still work as motivation, just as much as when I was at primary school. They do though!
Need another 1.5lbs this week to get into double figures and then I'll feel like I'm getting somewhere. Trying not to fixate on the other six stone I need to get rid of....
